Croon - good news on scan . Quick post- I've got a low lying placenta too (partially covering cervix) and have been told no sex. It's going to be a long 4-5 months....

Tryingreallyhard84 · 29/01/2015 22:03

Croon- great scan pic. Shame about the sex ban!

I've been looking at nursery ideas all evening. I just don't know where to start but need to get thinking about the layout and if I keep some of the furniture. Is a nursing chair a must? If it is, I need to lose my double futon. Although quite who'd be staying over once we have a baby is beyond me.

Shame about the sex ban. Just wondering but is masturbation ruled out? Or just penetrative stuff?

I have my scan tomorrow, soooo excited :) Maybe another girl to pull up the numbers even more? hmmmmm :)

htf2 · 29/01/2015 23:13

hmmm that sounds a bit rough with the sex ban. I will tell my DH to make him feel better about our lot- just finding it a bit harder around bump Blush
I just went to pay for my nct antenatal course, and obviously I should have known but I had no idea how much it was going to be! £340 felt like too much when our main goal is meeting people so I cancelled and found a cheaper local antenatal course. I hope I made the right call but honestly it seems like a ridiculous amount...
bubalou still around? How was centerparcs?

I just did a free antenatal course run by the hospital and then made a conscious effort to go to every local toddler group i could from ds being about 6 weeks old.
Made loads of new mummy friends, most of my best friends now i made via groups.
Good luck with todays scans

Hi all, just marking my place really, doing tax return this week and had some PhD deadlines, so been a bit out of the loop.

Great to hear more good scan news, and V useful to follow discussions on breast pumps, baby baths etc - after a year on this flat renovation I have decision fatigue and the prospect of choosing/buying everything for this baby actually feels a little overwhelming!

fortywinx · 30/01/2015 09:24

I've been lurking most of this week as I've ended up working late every day as it's been so busy at work. Totally shattered XD

Hope everyone is doing alright and congrats to all those who've had good scans!

My bump has been "popped" for weeks (I'm only 21 weeks atm) so people have been commenting for awhile. Don't think I'm putting weight on elsewhere really, but when my boss told one work colleague that I was pregnant, she expressed surprise as she thought I was just putting on weight! Shock Wink

Anyway... I'm so glad it's Friday....

Morning ladies

croon great news on the good scan, although boooo to sex ban!!

I handed my MatB1 in yesterday and I can leave as early as April 2nd as I have annual leave to use before Mat leave starts this shit is getting real! Grin

Jackiebrambles · 30/01/2015 09:57

Morning all

Lovely scan news, I can see the girls are catching up!! I think we are going to find out at our scan on the 12th, but I may change my mind yet!

My bump has popped too and i've been suprised at the amount of people at work who, now the news is out, have said that they thought I was just eating too many pies! :-O

Did you get your MatB1 from your midwife Chook? I can't remember what week I got it in last time but I don't think I'm seeing my midwife until 28 weeks now which feels a bit late!

AnythingNotEverything · 30/01/2015 10:22

Jackie - my midwife said once I've had my scan she'd happily do my matb1 and leave it at the GP's reception of I needed it, as I'm not seeing her until 28 weeks.

Chookford · 30/01/2015 10:54

jackie I txt my midwife and asked her to send it to me as I'm not seeing her until next week when I'm 25wks so I wanted to get it into work asap as they were asking for it... Might be worth doing that if you want it soon

Tranquilitybaby · 30/01/2015 11:44

Great news Kakey, another little girl, and you too on your scan croon, although not good re. The sex ban! Shock

Good luck on the scans today x

AnythingNotEverything · 30/01/2015 13:44

I feel like this pregnancy has suddenly arrived - major, major hunger (had to buy two lunches!) and lots of weeing.

Nearly half way. Feels like a long way to go yet. Scan on Monday Grin

sleepyshrew · 30/01/2015 13:57

Hello again. Been away for a few days and have loads to catch up on! Love seeing all the scan pics.

Don't want to leave anyone out, so to all: sorry to hear about health problems and those having a rough time, and hope you're all doing better/getting well looked after Flowers.

There's so much helpful info in these threads I'm going to have to go through them again and makes notes! I feel like I'm revising for an exam!

We had our 20 week scan on 19th Jan and all is well. Baby was upside down, legs over head, and wriggly, so it took the sonographer a while to get all the measurements. I apologised for baby's behaviour - I didn't realise that started this early Grin.

I've started to feel movement now, and over the past week my bump seems to have popped! It's feeling stretchy around my belly button so I guess it's only a matter of time before that pops too. Ick.

Croon - I'm rhesus negative too, and my partner is positive, so I've got blood tests at 24 and 28 weeks. The anti-D injections seem to prevent any problems though.

Hope everyone's got nice things and plenty of sleep-time lined up for the weekend.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 30/01/2015 14:58

Anything - I really need someone to remove the jar of Nutella and spoon from my hands. Blush The thing is, I noticed a stretch mark last night (don't get me wrong, I've got a few from being a teenager) but even that hasn't made me stop eating Nutella.

sleepyshrew - haha at you having to apologise for your babies' raucous behaviour already. Grin Glad your scan was good though.

In terms of "fun" for the weekend, we need to go and pick some tiles for the bathroom. Crazy party times here!

fortywinx · 30/01/2015 15:04

croon and sleepy I'm in the same boat being Rhesus-neg and OH being positive. Expecting my injection at 28 weeks.

My belly button has been out for weeks sleepy. It's normally very deep so I now have this patch of super soft skin around my outed belly button. XD

jazzyjenbo · 30/01/2015 17:29

Nice to see you sleepy and naughty baby shrew!!! Did u find out what you are having?
I'm another with a very sweet tooth atm, chocolate on everything if i had my way Shock
My bellybutton hasnt popped out yet, it wasnt until much later for me last 2 times though so not expecting that until 30+ weeks.

Emz1989 · 30/01/2015 17:55

The girls certainly seem to be catching up!! Thought this may happen! DH and I are still not planning on finding out what we're expecting at our scan on Feb 10th, but this is the first week I've really started wondering whether curiosity will get the better of me!!
Same scenario here, I'm rhesus neg and we're not sure about DH, have been told I'll have anti-d injection at 28 weeks, some time in April I think!
I'm going out for a meal with friends tonight but the table isn't booked until 8:30 so doubt we'll eat til 9 - just scoured the cupboard for a snack to keep me going until then and accidentally had 3 crumpets with butter and marmite and a galaxy ripple!! Oops!!

PregnantAndEngaged · 30/01/2015 23:11

For those not on facebook, I've had my scan this morning... lovely healthy little boy :) No problems at all and my placenta is anterior which is why I can't feel kicks at the front yet. :) Although I've started feeling kicks on my right side and I can feel when the baby makes sudden big movement like he's flipping over or something, hehe. Cute!

PregnantAndEngaged · 30/01/2015 23:17

Oo btw, anyone else's belly buttons looking strange with the ever increasing bump?

Mine's kind of gone into itself and gotten really small (happened literally overnight on Wednesday, went to bed being able to see into my belly button, next day it was almost non-existent it's gotten so tight!)

PregnantAndEngaged · 30/01/2015 23:20

Sorry for all the questions.. also want to know when/how to get my MatB1? I still don't have it and my works asking for it. I think it's do in by the end of my 25th week and I'm only 20 weeks, but I like to be organised!

bubalou · 30/01/2015 23:21

Hey all, glad to see all the great scan news and hope you're all doing well. Smile

Back home now after a week at center parcs - God that went fast! Back to reality I guess. Hmm

Hope you all have some fabulous plans this weekend. I'm catching up on housework and washing. Woohoo!

Bellejessleo · 31/01/2015 03:23

Congrats everybody on the lovely scan news! And sorry for all those struggling with pregnancy niggles. I've so much to catch up on! I've been away this week too, also at center parcs bubalou! Longleat, which one were u at? I was so tired this afternoon I went to bed at 8pm, hence why I'm now wide awake at gone 3am..! Got our 20wk scan on Thursday which is also my birthday! Which worked out well as dh has booked the day off.
Had a panic while I was away as I didn't feel baby move for about 2 days, although I haven't really been feeling much this time round anyway. It's strange because with my other 2 dc I felt them move really early on, from around 14 weeks both times. I'm feeling stronger movements now and little kicks but I'm really wondering whether I have an anterior placenta, or this baby may just be super chilled out!

Zaccheryquack · 31/01/2015 04:48

Just been catching up with the thread. Can't believe the sex bans. That's tough! Sorry to hear about the bottom issue too. I seem to have piles this time (got it last time too but much later) so think I am going to try to change my diet to sort it out a bit. Want to avoid going to the doctor if I can because last time, he made e show him my bottom and found it awkward. Weirdly - a lot more awkward than child birth!

Pas how are you doing? I am feeling pregnancy a lot more this time around and have aches and pains this time that I did not get until 7 months last time but it sounds like you prob should see a doctor to be on the safe side! Hope you feel better soon.

Off to Centerparcs myself in a few weeks. Our friends booked before we knew I was pregnant so we will probably be in the furthest villa from all the action!
