Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SmilingKiwi · 28/11/2006 17:55

LilKel I am so the same! I need some proof that I really am pregnant, and that reassurance that the baby is OK, my first scan is also on Friday!
bumperlicious - Hope that you are feeling better.
Sarah S good luck for tomorrow - Big day!
Hope everyone else is well, has anyone noticed itchy skin?
xx

comebacksummer · 28/11/2006 18:41

thanks guys- yes, it was ms- didn't get it at all with dds.. this time was being sick at the thought of food let alone the sight or smell of it...one week all i managed to eat was super noodles- which i don't even like- and only chicken flavour!! dh was muttering about nutrition for the baby as i had my head down the loo...nice! and now i have the female equivalent of man-flu and can't take any bloody drugs.. would normally be high as a kite on sudafed, nightnurse etc etc by now....any suggestions anyone?
i knwo what you all mean about not believing a thing till you see it on screen.. I had convinced myself that I must have lost it as i'd been so rough, but obviously miracles do happen! i just hope it's not addicted to supernoodles...

comebacksummer · 28/11/2006 18:43

sorry, doggus, in answer to your question yes it did clear up about a week ago- i just had fish and chips and very nice it was too.. mainly because i didn't have to cook it!! ( and yes, i know after eating nothing but processed crap for weeks perhaps fish and chips wasn't great but sod it quite frankly!!)

doggus · 28/11/2006 19:50

Oooh fish and chips sounds lovely...I am about to have sausage and mash courtesy of M&S (not just ANY sausage and mash). I went to see my midwife today and confessed that I have been eating nothing but shite, no vegetables and no fruit, so you are not the only one. She said that when you have ms, you should eat what you fancy. Mine's going to be addicted to crisps, coke and those strawberry and cream flavoured sweeties; I think supernoodles would be preferable.

Daisybump · 29/11/2006 14:06

I wouldn't worry Doggus....my mum ate liquorice till it was coming out of her ears when pg with me and I can't stand the stuff!!!

Not posted for a while and its taken me ages to catch up. Good to hear about all these positive scans. I've got my booking appointment on Friday and scan next Wednesday. Went for a private scan about two weeks ago, but not telling the NHS that or they won't give me another one....

I'm also starting to show (11+5 at the mo)...much earlier than with DS but my stomach muscles are basically in tatters after DS anyway. Problem is I just look like I've had too many pies rather then proper little bump I had with DS. Already in maternity trousers, but thankfully styles have gotten a lot nicer in the five years since DS. It's tops that are the problem with me....I feel like I'm bursting out of all my clothes, but maternity ones seem to have too much in front at the moment. Oh the dilemma, but at least my energy levels are back to sort of normal and I can cope with the shopping. Good job really as I've not done any Christmas shopping at all....yikes!

All the recent posts about bras had me LOL. I've gone from 34E to 36F already and it's not easy finding sizes like that...so appreciate your pert little boobs while they last. I was 34B before I had DS too so went up three cup sizes from before and they never went down again! My DH is quite appreciative of the even bigger me, but wants to know what the point is when he can't even get near them.....they're too sensitive for him to touch at the moment and will start squirting at him before long!!

Good luck for all the up and coming scans

lilKel · 29/11/2006 16:38

For tops (cause I have this problem too) instead of maternity (ie, tents!) you can try some of the longer style tops. If they're not warm enough, layer them under normal jumpers. Or get some longline vests (Topshop has some in white) and layer them under normal tops. I also had some luck with Jigsaw - some kind of ruched top they have now is perfect for now & for later too, though not cheap...but I never shop for myself now anyway, with the 9mo old getting all my spare cash, so I just treated myself this one time.

? for the wee-busted: Do they make wireless pushup bras? I need to appear with cleavage for my one formal event (work do)!!! Help!!

annobal · 29/11/2006 18:13

I don't think it would matter for one evening if you wore an underwire bra. I miss my small boobs - I couldn't get anywhere near my old bra now as I've already gone from an A to a DD!

Had a scan today and looks as though I've messed my dates up and am really 9 weeks, not 13 - that's a whole other 4 weeks of MS!! Good news is there is a strong heartbeat and all looks well. DS1 (3) was trying to get the dr to look at his tummy as he is convinced that there is a baby there too

lilKel · 29/11/2006 19:01

LOL Annobal re the little one wanting a scan too...I can't wait till my DS is old enough to share what odd little thoughts go through his mind. All he can do now is giggle at me for no apparent reason from time to time...

shock about the difference in dates tho - if my doc tells me I'm 4 weeks under my EDD I'd be v. v. surprised

Bring on the boob growth! Just want to know what it's like to buy a B cup...

comebacksummer · 30/11/2006 08:05

I am being so lazy i'm still squeezing my revolting squidgy boobs into my normal bras.. need to buy some new maternity ones this weekend but it's so depressing.. all my ones from dds just ended up with my boobs down by my navel...can underwires do that much harm this early on?

lilKel · 30/11/2006 08:34

well I wore underwires through my first pg believing my little boobs didn't qualify for maternity wear - and ended up with such bad mastitis (twice) that I couldn't get past one month of breastfeeding. Impossible to know if my blocked ducts were caused by my underwear, but I'm not taking that chance again. Sports bras for me, hooray! (not...)

annobal · 30/11/2006 09:10

Have a look at this Their underwear looks gorgeous (a bit on the expensive side though). I found it yesterday while looking for swimwear that I can wear now that won't look like maternity (I can no longer wear my usual bathers on account of my enormous norks).

Taichimum · 30/11/2006 13:31

I'm afraid it is game over for me. Had a mc and D+C at the weekend at 11 1/2 weeks. Bit shocking as it was so late and I lost a lot of blood which has made me quite ill, but have my beautiful DS to take my mind off it and keep me going . Good luck to you all and enjoy your beautiful babies when they arrive. I will be thinking of you all in June.

sputnik · 30/11/2006 13:38

Oh no Taichimum, I am so sorry

Taichimum - take care.

Sending lots of love.

xx

Taichimum · 01/12/2006 14:40

Many thanks to you all for your messages. I know we have not got to know each other well yet but somehow it helps to know you are thinking of me. I am feeling better every day physically if not emotionally. As soon as i am not anemic any more I would like to try again. We have got pg straight away with both pg's so fingers crossed we will have a baby soon.
Please feel free to let this thread go back to happy pg and baby banter now. That is the way it should be. At least I can get drunk and wear a decent bra now.

sputnik · 01/12/2006 15:19

Yeah, do that for all of us Taichi! And while you're at it could you possibly manage some sushi and a bit of stilton for me? Perhaps not at the same time.
Your post made me smile, then cry, then laugh again (bloody emotional rollercoaster!). Do let us know when you join your next ante-natal thread, give yourself a bit of time to recover maybe, and best of luck xxx
