20th JSing GRADS thread - our chat's still filthy, just not in front of the baby...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 20th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 37th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

OK this is a terrible question as I am so early on in pregnancy, but are there any alcohol free red wines you guys have tasted that are nice? Not like fruit juice? I don't yet miss it, but I know I will, and my sister is getting really fed up of wanting a nice glass of wine (28 weeks). I would love to be able to find her something that at least doesn't taste like ribena!

Also, strange pain under my left ribcage today, like I've pulled a muscle. Very similar to when I've been post chest infection in the past. Pretty sure it's nothing to worry about, but anyone else have this early on? Can I see it as a sign of pregnancy?! (Is a good thing?)

LaLa5 · 18/01/2015 18:17

Sudden or not sudden cramps and twinges are your uterus stretching to accommodate your wee one. As long as no bleeding or pain it's nothing to worry about.

I've not found nice non alky wine yet :(. M&s alc free prosecco tastes like bile

Keep us updated about the scan you decide on, you must be near a huge mother care purple. I don't mind not seeing much, just peace of mind. But I am really funny about internals.

lauren I hated wedding fairs! they suck. Apart from chocolate fountain even though they are a bit wrong!

I have been looking at buggies travel systems. So confusing! My sister had a bugaboo chameleon but I haven't been bowled over by it so we have a hunt ahead. I will pick her SILs brains - she has had about 12 buggies since first having a two year old (always sells them on, but still, I think she has a problem...). I have my priorities right, I want one with an all black frame, a cupholder and a good rain cover. We don't drive so collapsing isn't a priority and something that withstands a lot of walking (we are big walkers in our town). Anyway plenty of time yet! we won't be purchasing anything for a bit, we have a money box and will be saving for the buggy. My penchant for gin and leather trousers was my habit before, I should be there in no time. DH thought we would get one for a hundred quid. Hollow laugh.

Thankyou for the sickness tips. I'm trying with the water - constipation is a problem so been trying to fend off that. Bought some decaf tea today. It's ok, not great. My morning brew will be a normal one and maybe another one at work during the day.

Told my sister today, she's beyond thrilled. She's more excited than me! Then we just have my inlaws to tell and that's it for now.

Stoatystoat · 18/01/2015 18:30

Lala thanks for the tip about prosecco. Won't bother with that. My habit is gin. I can drink tonic and make do with that. Monin do gin flavoured syrup that I might try. browns do good mocktails when you're out though which is good.

TheBooMonster · 18/01/2015 18:35

wil avoiding physio as the last time I went it made things infinitely worse and I had a week off work because I couldn't walk! My logical brain is saying the big fat pregnant lady physio's won't be the same but the illogical part of my brain is dragging it's heels about being any more broken than I already am...

Oh books for the men folk I got DH the commando dad raw recruits book for Pregnancy, it's a bit basic but a start if he'd bothered to bloody read it I put coloured tabs in it an everything a fortnight ago and he hasn't noticed... Might put it in his work bag with a sticky noted pointed reminder of how many days he has left if I'm induced...

Yay! On the reassuring news zyla even if it does mean lots of hospital visits!

couldhavebeenme · 18/01/2015 18:40

Not a wine fan in general but my friend who is always gives herself a treat of one glass per week during pregnancy (real wine!). I've had some of the alcohol free white/rose and find it ok although DH who is a bit more of a connoisseur Wink thinks it too sweet.

Stoatystoat · 18/01/2015 18:53

Couldhavebeen, if my tipple was wine I think I'd be in the occasional with dinner camp after the first semester, gin just feels less sophisticated.

laurenamium · 18/01/2015 18:54

Not so much a big wedding wil but we are having a marquee and bands at my mums farm in the field with a hog roast and camping so we don't have to limit numbers like we would with a sit down do. We will be having a vintage ice cream van though Grin more the merrier if anyone wants to hike up north!

I haven't felt any movements again today, so I'm currently laid on my left for the next 2 hours to try and count 10 movements. DD is still ill too so I've just had to interrupt my 2 hours to scrub the carpet and get her changed...not sure if I should start my timer again!

TheBooMonster · 18/01/2015 19:31

Meep lauren pretty sure the 10 kicks advice is outdated, if you've been feeling no movements and that's unusual for you you should phone your midwife if you're 24 weeks+

laurenamium · 18/01/2015 19:36

I rang boo and they gave me the 10 kicks spiel Hmm I've eaten a honey sandwich and have felt some movement, he can move 10 times in 1 wake up! I have a scan tomorrow so I will mention it to my consultant that he's not moving anywhere near as much as he was, currently at 7 kicks in the last hour so I'm quite sure we will get another 3 in the next...I'm refusing to move off my side though until my 2 hours is up. DP can make tea when he's in from the gym!

RPopz · 18/01/2015 19:53

As if I've missed a whole bloody Fred nearly Shock

We've got the Surf2 La (thanks to considerable donation from Mum) - it is lush if you can find a similarly generous relative!

DH read nothing I asked him to. I was really fucking pissed off with him especially towards the end but he pulled it out of the bag to be an amazing birth partner so... there's hope for you all!

Hope you're ok Zyla and home tomorrow...

That's all I can remember right now. Will attempt more when I'm no longer held hostage by boob monster (possibly sometime in 2017 then... Hmm)

TheBooMonster · 18/01/2015 19:56

Smeg... Perhaps wave the count the kicks website in your midwives direction next time you see her :/ but it's good that you've got a scan tomorrow, definitely bring it up then.

ChatEnOeuf · 18/01/2015 20:12

Bloody hell are there still midwives who troll out the 10 kicks advice? It's outdated bollocks and my friend lost her baby after that very advice so excuse my tetchiness. Any change in movement that isn't resolving by an hour of prompting warrants a heart trace of 30 mins at least to establish if the baby is happy. Repeat episodes should trigger a scan for growth and dopplers to assess the placenta. Angry Hope the wee one is getting her wriggle on Lauren

We have a sola too, from 4 yrs ago. I really like it but the back wheels are fractionally wide for my liking and the basket feels small with the pramtop on. It's lasted well and will do this one too, going to replace the mattress for night sleeps but otherwise we're set.

The hog roast sounds fabulous, and an ice cream van is an excellent touch. We're there Grin

willywallace · 18/01/2015 20:29

Lauren, if baby does 10 kicks one after the other, you just count it as 1 I think. If you're not happy insist on getting checked, especially with your complications Thanks .

Haha La, I would say MiniWil was unplanned yet we weren't using anything. I can't tolerate the hormones in contraceptives and hate condoms, but it's the only mishap we've ever had and we knew we'd had it if you know what I mean. Not that i'm calling my child a mishap, obviously very pleased it happened.

willywallace · 18/01/2015 20:31

Oh yes Lauren, meant to say your wedding idea sounds fab! My BIL went to one like that and said it was amazing.

laurenamium · 18/01/2015 20:35

Oh so 10 kicks one after another is only 1?! Shock Well in that case there's only been about 3 kicks in the last 2 hours Confused so do I go in then or wait until tomorrow? I'm so on edge now and DP thinks I'm being a drama queen Hmm

lildottie · 18/01/2015 21:52

I'd go in to be checked Lauren better safe than sorry.

popz has pingu got any closer to a name yet?

TheBooMonster · 18/01/2015 22:02

lauren did you go and get checked? anxious face

laurenamium · 18/01/2015 22:25

Sorry to have made people anxious Blush I didn't go in, he's wiggling every now and then again and when I rang back they said they would recommend me just coming in tomorrow for the growth scan as all they would do tonight was listen for a heart beat- which I know is there as he's moving now and then...I'm definitely going to bring it up with the consultant though tomorrow as its the 2nd time this week he hasn't moved all day!

willywallace · 18/01/2015 22:29

Do you think maybe you just didn't notice movements today because you were busy? Good that you have your scan tomorrow anyway and glad you can feel wriggles.

deeplybaffled · 18/01/2015 23:09

Glad all is looking better, zyla !

Can I ask for some advice, please? I went to the gp at just over 6 weeks, and she was very nice, took my details and said that most of my appts would be at the surgery, but that the scans would be at the hospital.

Now about 7.5 weeks, and had a scan date, which is mid Feb...but no m/w appt. Should I have some sort of booking in appt before the scan, or is it all done on the day? Sorry to sound so clueless, but I was kind of expecting to see the m/w and then have a scan a few weeks later - or am I all mixed up?

splodge77 · 18/01/2015 23:29

Hallo, just marking place in new Fred. Had a jolly wkend with DS's 4th birthday. Lots of prezzies, balloons & overexcited small people. baffled, I'd give em a prod re your booking appt as it should happen before the scan. I rang my docs when hadn't seen anyone by 10 wks .& they promptly found an appointment for me the next week. Hope you get home soon zyla. Xx

willywallace · 19/01/2015 04:25

We get our booking app first but think some people have said they got it at same time as scan. Phone up and check though.

Happy Birthday Little Splodge!

So I've had about 1 hours sleep so far tonight. With less than 3 hours to go until I have to get up. This makes me want to cry. Also have mega stabby cervix whenever baby moves.

DulcetMoans · 19/01/2015 07:18

What a worry lauren. At least you have the appointment today, I hope they can check you out and reassure you.

You would normally have a booking in between 8-10wks deeply. I didn't hear anything after 2 weeks so chased and did get a slot but not until after 10wks. It didn't really matter but maybe give it a couple more days and chase it.

Bad news about the sleep wil, could stabby feeling be baby? When are you having a baby?! Due date tomorrow!!

Pisghetti · 19/01/2015 07:20

Today Dulcet Grin happy d-day Wil!
