20th JSing GRADS thread - our chat's still filthy, just not in front of the baby...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 20th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 37th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

I should've changed Moses basket - I'm getting the snuzpod

OP posts:
TheBooMonster · 21/01/2015 15:16

argh zyla what a nuisance! if it's not one thing it's another!

my ribs hurt so much I want to punch something and my sister is coming over to express her concerns about a mutual friends current state of wellbeing who I think is fine, would it be unreasonable to put her in charge of a rather energetic DD whilst she's here? guilty face

ooh La we shall have to compare lists!

teejayem · 21/01/2015 15:36

the line about permeating poo always makes me chuckle la :)

lildottie · 21/01/2015 15:52

shame on you for not doing your tax returns in May!

not a guru yet la, one exam left to do in May. a bfp would definitely be a good incentive to get on with it!

Fleurchamp · 21/01/2015 16:02

What is the difference between a snuzpod and a bed nest? I am hoping I can borrow a bed nest from a friend.
I am also going to need something for the baby to sleep in downstairs, would the pram carrycot do?

LaLa5 · 21/01/2015 16:13

They're the same thing just different brands Fleur. I can't fit bednest in my bedroom as it's too wide, hence snuzpod

OP posts:
LaLa5 · 21/01/2015 16:41

Oh and I've no idea about the carry cot question! Im sure someone else will know the answer?

OP posts:
TheBooMonster · 21/01/2015 17:03

DD spent her first night at home in the carry cot because the crib was half way across the country, we did make some use of the carrycot for lounge sleeping, but mostly she slept on a feather filled cushion on the sofa or on me (which I'm sure was actually incredibly unsafe and funnily I don't think I'd dare do with bump!)

teejayem · 21/01/2015 17:20

I love the look of the Snuzpod... I am hoping they have a stand and some fat discount at the baby show in a couple of weeks.

Irrespective, I've told Mr Tee I'm having one whether he likes it or not.. :D I like that the cot-type bit can be lifted off and used as a bassinet, so can be brought downstairs or out in the garden etc.

Fleurchamp · 21/01/2015 17:26

Ooh tee I like the sound of that.

I have a tiny bedroom and so the snuzpod might be better if it's narrower.

Have yoga tonight, must force myself to go even though it's cold out.

willywallace · 21/01/2015 17:48

I love how organised you all are. I've been sitting today thinking we can't find bits of the bouncer or play gym and we really need to clean the steriliser and buy a breast pump. I'm so shit. Grin Poor baby is just making do surrounded by all of MiniWil's mess. Have to say though, would love a bednest type thing - cribs are a bit awkward.

Stoatystoat · 21/01/2015 18:07

Evening ladies, hope you're all well. Half way through the week!

I have told my sister and my auntie, both of whom have had babies so they are good and I am close with them both. I worry about bothering them, they've had to prop me up quite a bit and both have families. I feel a bit more like some peer support I guess & the people I'm closest with haven't had babies.

You've all persuaded me I need a perfect prep machine! Thanks for the list la

purple well done on this milestone, hope you feel okay.

fleur I am a Batiste fan. Expect when baby is here my use is only going to go up

laura hope work was ok

zyla thinking of you

I'm working at home tomorrow but managed to go in this morning. Had this afternoon off as saw my counsellor - I see her on and off when I need support with stuff and figure this is one of those times. All the uncertainty at the moment and then I have ishoos in relation to childbirth so it's going to be interesting. Then came home and watched a boxed set and rested my back - it's not quite as bad today but I can still feel it. Been crampy still, my auntie says it's the embryo settling in, not proper pain, just like period cramps. POAS just to check.

Have a nice evening all.

lildottie · 21/01/2015 18:34

wil I have a great mental image of you with miniwil2 on your lap feeding and miniwil1 running around like an aeroplane throwing stuff. and your hair looking like you put ur finger in the plug socket Grin. made me chuckle, hope the reality isn't quite as mad!

laurenamium · 21/01/2015 18:46

How has miniwil reacted to miniwil the 2nd wil?

I've just spent 40 minutes on my hands and knees aggressively scrubbing the kitchen floor, DP thinks I've gone a bit mad and now it's done and looks exactly the same as it would if I mopped it I'm inclined to agree. This baby is turning me a little bit mad Grin

Thanks for the list la. I'm starting to get bits and bobs together, I need to get DP to go in the loft to get the crib down so that I can measure it for a new mattress. Grin

LaLa5 · 21/01/2015 19:28

I didn't realise you could use snuzpod as bassinet too - definitely getting one!

We've got permission to paint our rented house, I really couldn't stand to stare at the marks on the walls every day on mat leave. So we're going to refresh it a bit. Lauren I think I've caught your bug, I love cleaning at the moment!

Tee I can't decide about baby show. Are you going to any if the seminars? I'm wondering whether to just go to the big baby shop in Croydon to see everything I'm interested in. Can't seem to find anywhere that stocks uppababy vista near me to try out.

I'm off to my book club. Not read book because I always fall asleep these days!

LaLa5 · 21/01/2015 19:29

Stoat my mum says those cramps are the baby settling in for the long haul. I used to like thinking of it as baby snuggling down :). Definitely normal

OP posts:
Stoatystoat · 21/01/2015 19:32

Thanks lala, that helps.

I want to go to a Babyshow but DH not bothered. Might have to drag some other sucker. The timings aren't wonderful for me for the north one so might have to be an excuse to go to that London...any excuse!

Look at you all nesting! So sweet. I experienced this when my sister was pregnant, it was weird (I'm very messy normally!).

ChatEnOeuf · 21/01/2015 19:41

Fleur we used the carrycot for a crib as well as for daytime sleeps no we didn't, she slept on me and walking. We got a proper mattress for it as it was a great buy.

willywallace · 21/01/2015 19:42

Lil that is pretty much spot on!

Maybe we should have MicroWil as I'm getting confused with two minis? Anyway, she has slept all day again. Couldn't keep her awake for anything. So am assuming I'll be in for a long night!

Jealous of the snuzpods!

Stoatystoat · 21/01/2015 19:49

I want a snuzpod now!!

teejayem · 21/01/2015 20:00

Not bothering with the talks etc la - I just want to see things in the flesh really, and see what offers, if any are around. I keep seeing all kinds of cool looking bits and pieces online and I'd really like to get my mitts on them before I spend much... Think I said before our local mothercare is a bit sparse furniture and travel system wise, and I want to be able to try lifting and folding stuff properly. Plus it's a good excuse to buy tiny clothes.
Here's the Snuzpid marketing video - shows all the bits you can do with it. I am interested in how heavy it is, esp the detachable bit..

RPopz · 21/01/2015 20:51

We've got a bed nest and the bloody child won't sleep in it! Shock Haha.

Man I am rubbish at keeping up with you lot nowadays. Hope you're all doing ok x

DulcetMoans · 21/01/2015 20:53

Ok, you guilted me into it now lil, I'm
20% through the self assessment. I'll get there.

Thanks for the list la, I will print that I reckon!

Glad you've got some people to talk to in RL stoat. Counsellor should help you cope too.

Only looked at the show this evening, not really my thing but MIL might like it and I do like freebies. Hmmmm...

Fleurchamp · 21/01/2015 22:08

Ok so now I think I have decided on a snuzpod! Just need DH to get on board.
So I wouldn't need a cot for 6 months?
