I had my booking appointment today, we were there for about 50 minutes, she was really nice and went through everything in lots of detail. Lots of form filling. As it's my first I'd rather get more info than I need than less.

I did chuckle though when they give you all the things to take away it's in a folder with Bounty and pregnancy plastered all over it...good thing there was no one I knew in the waiting room as it wouldn't fit in my bag!!

The sickness is driving me mad, I am lucky that my boss is letting me work from home. Got some wristbands to try today so I hope they help a bit.

Just got to wait for a dating scan appointment now, at least I have my early private scan to look forward to on Saturday!

On telling other children, I have a step son who is 12 and we are going to wait until the dating scan just in case anything happens before then. We don't want to give him any unnecessary things to worry about.

MrsTea81 · 06/01/2015 17:33

Lovely to hear what everyone's been up to and feeling like etc.
Hope you have a lovely holiday dozy.
Been lucky and not suffered much nausea but when I am feeling sick have found a lovely ginger and lemongrass cordial which I mix with boiling water and that takes the edge off.
Definitely struggling with sleep, always wake in the night needing to pee then can never get back to sleep, anyone else with that problem?
Larger tender boobs as well, thinking I'll need to go bra shopping soon. Has anyone started using any lotions or potions to help prevent stretch marks, I've just got some of the Mama Mio tummy rub butter and the boob tube lotion to try.
Also struggling with a few spots, was very lucky and got only occasional ones before so can only blame the hormones! Does anyone have any recommendations on any face washes/skincare?
Excited as got first midwife appointment tomorrow, hubby joining me as he's probably even more excited than me! I'll be 9+4 according to my dates.

Sparrowlegs248 · 06/01/2015 18:02

Evening all, day 2 of work done. Not feeling as bad as expected. I HAVE to eat to keep nausea at bay, but not too much and nothing sweet. I'm another one eating ready salted crisps. Haven't had chocolate for weeks (most unlike me)

Feeling very tired by this stage of the day.

I haven't got specific stretch mark potions but have been slathering belly, boobs, bum and thigh area with body butter! Getting into good habits and it can't hurt!

Quick dinner tonight, bath and bed I think.

Emb540 · 06/01/2015 18:34

Eeek have to share! Call me bonkers but I just felt flutters. At first I thought it was wind but just felt it again! I felt DD2 about 9 weeks too. Suddenly feeling real Smile

LAM1 · 06/01/2015 19:05

Have a great holiday dozy!! I am now counting down till I am off, being back at work is tough!!

Mrst try Clinique anti blemish foam, only thing that works on me....I have tried a few times to change to normal one but the spots return!

I have eaten so many crisps and crackers, neither of which I have eaten for about a year!

Frolicacid · 06/01/2015 19:42

Popping in quickly to say hi. Not read back properly, so I hope everyone is ok.

my nausea / vomitting has been much better today and yesterday. Touch wood it lasts.
I'm still shattered and my boobs are enormous pendulums of pain.

I can't remember if I've mentioned it, but my midwife appt came through for next Friday. I will be 81/2 weeks by then. We also have a private scan booked for next Sunday. Eeek!!

D00dles · 06/01/2015 19:42

Hi all and hi to al newbies Smile sorry I need to play thread catch up! I'm struggling back at work. I'm shattered just got home now to the world's grumpiest DH Sad I'm hoping I'll get myself back in a routine because as it is I feel I'm not coping with work life and it's pressures Sad

D00dles · 06/01/2015 19:44

*all
Sorry for the rambling rant, I'm too tired to care if it made sense! I just needed a moan Grin

RainbowTortoise · 06/01/2015 19:56

Mrstea I found bio oil was amazing when I was pregnant with my little girl. Just wish someone had told me to use it on my legs before the stretch marks arrived. I found it soothing when bump gets bigger and starts getting itchy where the skin is stretching. Must see if it's on offer anywhere.

Doodles, I found last time by 12 weeks I got my energy back and started feeling 'me' again so hopefully your tiredness may ease by then too.

PolkaDotSpots · 06/01/2015 20:11

Thanks for the new thread and list guyropesSmile these threads are moving so quick I can't keep up!

I had my booking in scan over the christmas break and my scan is in two weeks, it's all seeming very real now! The nausea is finally passing and I'm slowly getting some energy back. Last time I felt awful until close to 20weeks so hoping this time around it will be a bit smoother!

sisterelephant · 06/01/2015 20:34

Evening everyone,

Sorry most of us are still feeling rubbish. Still full of nausea today but it's been manageable, even managed to do some housework which was an achievement!

Marmalade on toast seems to be my vice at the moment, which is already dangerous, I put on 3.5 stone last time as all I craved was beige foods - all bread! I hope this nausea eases soon and I can eat normally soon.

northernlassy24 · 06/01/2015 22:52

Hi everyone! Im 28 yo EDD 24/08/15 with #1. Wishing everybody a happy and healthy pregnancy Grin x

Thanks guyropes for setting this up it must have taken a while!

Augustwedding · 07/01/2015 16:03

Had my scan letter today- 21st jan so I'll be jus to re 12 weeks, very excited!

em165 · 07/01/2015 18:32

Feeling jealous of those of you who have 12 week scan dates, I bet you're so excited to see your baby.

Had my booking in appointment this morning, the midwife was lovely. It seems even more real now too!

MrsTea81 · 07/01/2015 18:44

Mmm marmalade on toast has become a staple for me too sisterelephant.
Thanks for the skincare advice.
How exciting Augustwedding hoping mine will be round the same date as I had booking appt with midwife today and she said I'm 10 weeks though I think I'm a couple of days less due to cycle length but on that basis I should get scan done in around 2 weeks time...can't wait!
Flu jab booked for tomorrow, has everyone had their flu jab done? Majority of everything I've read seems to say best get it but have read the odd story warning against it.

otter32 · 07/01/2015 18:56

mrstea I've had my flu jab. No reaction to it at all. Other than a bit of an achey arm!

Had my big mw appointment today. 12 weeks scan booked for 21 Jan. Starting to feel a bit more real now!

I'm now being found out at work. Not going to the gym, food habit changes, looking tired and carrying a bit more belly weight have been mentioned! Oh well, only 2 more weeks until I don't have to try and hide it!

toothachereturns · 07/01/2015 19:13

Weird about the marmalade thing. ... I bought some at the weekend for the first time in years! Grin

6 days until my private scan. I will be someplace between 8 and 9 weeks by then. Very exciting but also nervous too. Smile Sad
I haven't got a date for my 12 wk scan thru yet tho, but should be around 1st week in Feb. Grin

Frolicacid · 07/01/2015 20:12

How is everyone today? I spoke to soon yesterday and have been vomitting all day. My boobs are mega sore as well. I'm 7 weeks today.

tooth, I also have a private scan booked for 8 1/2 weeks. Mine will be next Sunday. Nervous and excited are the right words.

For those enjoying marmalade on toast, try it combined with marmite. Sweet, salty perfection that has long been a favourite of mine! Goes well on crumpets too.

Augustwedding · 07/01/2015 21:03

I am very excited for appt but so scarfed baby will not be ok even though already seen a heartbeat! Hoping DH can come but it's right in middle of day abd he is a teacher so fingers crossed they can get cover for him!

CarrotPuff · 07/01/2015 21:11

Had some brown discharge on my daily liner this evening. When I wiped there were only a couple tiny blobs. However, about an hour later had some more brownish stuff when I wiped, turning into dirty pink colour. Some more snotty mucous too. It is a miscarriage, isn't it Sad

Called what I thought was EPU but appeared to be Maternity Unit and they said EPU was closed and I should go to A&E. Which I can't do as DP would need to drive me and DS is asleep. So I'll give them a call tomorrow morning and see what they say. At least DS is going to nursery tomorrow...

NatalieBee · 07/01/2015 21:20

Carrotpuff not necessarily! I had a tiny bit of brown about a teaspoon full last Monday so over a week and a bit ago and have had nothing since! I have my scan tomorrow , so I'm crossing everything!

They assured me spotting can be normal in early pregnancy, do you still have symptoms?

CarrotPuff · 07/01/2015 21:38

Well it didn't feel like spotting. But not heavy flow either.

Today I didn't have any symptoms. But then tiredness/nausea only started a few days ago and I know symptoms come and go. So that makes me worry too...

I just went to the loo again (I feel really bolted today) and there was nothing - neither in pants nor on tissue. My lower back still hurts though.

I really don't know what to think... Can't do anything till tomorrow but I'm not going to sleep tonight, am I?

CarrotPuff · 07/01/2015 21:40

Sorry Natalie, I sound like an ungrateful cow - thank you for reassurance!

sisterelephant · 07/01/2015 23:12

carrot I had spotting in my last pregnancy, I panicked had an early scan but they said its normal for your body to get rid of old blood, as long as it stays dark and isn't accompanied by any pain. I hope you can get an early appt tomorrow.

Frolic I'm a day ahead of you 7w1 today and still waiting for the proper sickness to hit. I'm dreading it :( I feel like this nausea is teasing me. I hope tomorro is a better day for you. I'm craving crumpets now!

Isabeau1980 · 08/01/2015 08:47

Oh God Envy Just when I thought I'd come to an agreement with my morning sickness, I wake up this morning with diarrhoea too. Angry

I hated to do it but I rang in sick to work.

Diarrhoea or vomiting on their own I can cope with but both together? No way. Now to find some way to not feel guilty since someone else is out in work today too.
