Goodness! I haven't checked in for a while and shocked that we are on thread 2 already! Great to read everyone's stories and catch up on your news. I'm 8+6 and sick if the nausea..blerg... Also DYING with indigestion. I work in a bank and keeping it all quiet as long as possible - if all goes to plan I'd like to get to the 20 week mark before I dare tell them - like toothache, my boss will not be remotely sympathetic. I have heard him moaning about other people going on mat leave and don't even talk about people looking to come back on reduced schedules...let's just say he is not a fan! Have that little joy to look forward to!

Isabeau1980 · 05/01/2015 19:35

I always try to sit at the front. To get up any further this morning I would have had to sat on the driver's lap. I think that might have raised a few eyebrows. Smile Maybe something else too? Wink

I think it was just a combination of morning sickness, motion sickness and the early January Monday morning blahs. I felt much better when I got into work. The motion sickness bands worked well as did the Ginger biscuits I have stashed in my handbag.

Emb540 · 05/01/2015 21:19

So many teachers! Weirdly last forum I used most of them were teachers too...
Sickness has gone, but exhusted all day long. Finished my long stretch in work whoop and DD2 started school today so I actually have all day to me!!!! What to do?!

I work as guest service supervisor for a large holiday resort, so a lot of walking on the resort which is killing me at the mo. Had a few dizzy spells learnt to take my time.

9 weeks today & still nothing from MW, giving it one more week. Worried about my back, currently having phsysio as they think I've weakened my back from have the 2DD. Which is worrying as I have told them I am expecting again & she said it's only going to get worse Shock great things we do hey.

mzzzf · 05/01/2015 21:26

Hey ladies, I'm a Physio for the nhs and have been intermittently at work all over Christmas - so it's time some of you others shared my pain Wink

Have finally got a scan date through the post but Sod's law it's the one day of the entire month that I cannot do!!! Still no contact from the midwife though, despite me trying to chase. I'm 10+1 now, surely the MW would want to have seen me by now?! Will keep on trying to get hold of them I guess.

Hope the nausea is settling, my fatigue (touch wood!) seems to be improving a little - let's hope it stays that way!!!!

PerpetualSummer · 05/01/2015 21:36

Thanks guyropes for the new thread! I am expecting #1 and due 9th August. Should we put how far along we are at the bottom of our messages?

Today was my first day back as well - was a bit unmotivated after all the lovely sunshine (and sleep) I was having. On the plus side, less than 6 weeks til my next sunshine filled holiday.

Sorry to all those feeling rough! I must admit I've had barely any nausea. I am having acupuncture treatment - my acupuncturist said my lack of symptoms was due to acupuncture balancing out the body somehow. Anyone else having acupuncture?

9+1

otter32 · 05/01/2015 22:20

Hi all. I'm a sustainability consultant, mainly desk based but travel a fair bit to attend meetings all over the country. Construction site visits thrown in too. I got away with my first day back by working from home! No such luck tomorrow though as the bosses are in.

I've been in dresses for a while now as I find pants need undoing in the afternoon! Might give my baby band a try though. Mix up the wardrobe a bit!

I have a noticeable belly now. I think it's slightly baby but mainly lack of exercise and eating too much over Christmas! And lots of bloating!

I can't remember who wrote about prams now! Terrible memory. I went into mamas and papas to get an idea of things and was totally overwhelmed! Who knew there were so many options?! Can you tell this is my first?!

Wishing a night of uninterrupted sleep for you all.

sisterelephant · 05/01/2015 22:33

Hi all,

Please may I join? I've been lurking for a bit and finally plucked up the courage to say hello! I think I'm just short of 7 weeks and feel like shite. Nausea all day and so exhausted, I need somewhere to moan to! I've not thrown up yet so I feel like i'm waiting for it to get much worse as it did with ds1.

My stats are
Age:31
EDD: 26.08.14
2nd baby

sisterelephant · 05/01/2015 22:35

Obvs that should say 26.08.15.
can I blame baby brain already?

Rikalaily · 05/01/2015 23:58

Hi all, I'm 8+1 (will probably change at scan) with baby no.5, Should be due 16/17th Aug. We have a private scan booked for this Sunday to make sure all is well as after having 4 babies in 8 years without any losses I have had 2 losses this year, first was in June (around 6.5w) and second one was in Nov (chemical pregnancy), we conceived this baby right after. I'm 35 but feeling about 55 atm, lol Smile

User24689 · 06/01/2015 01:50

Hi all, not checked in for a while, how are we all going? I have had horrendous sickness for the past few weeks but this week I have turned a corner... 10 weeks today. Hoping it gets better from here :)

Question - is anyone else doing random hiccups throughout the day? Not exactly hiccups because I only do one at a time. It's super embarrassing because I have no idea when it will happen and it sounds like a burp but it isn't, it's a hiccup?!! Oh pregnancy, so many delightful surprises...

daisysunshine2 · 06/01/2015 07:16

upthewolves I do that all the time!! Haha

Dozygirl · 06/01/2015 09:05

Welcome to the newbies. Five children rika wowsers. You're brave! I'm scared enough about being able to keep one human alive when it comes lol.

Don't know about the hiccoughs. Tbh I tend to get them randomly like that when not pregnant so not sure if it's a thing.

It was me that mentioned prams. Can't wait till we all get to the stage of discussing all those kind of things. It's an exciting journey ahead.

Off for my jolly holiday. See u all in a week. Hope all goes on for everybody.

CarrotPuff · 06/01/2015 09:39

Nice list Guyropes, well done!

Welcome newbies!

Have a nice holiday Dozy!

I feel so tired I want to cry... Had also some nausea on Sunday but not yesterday. It's bound to come back though...

I used to be sales executive but due to company relocating I've claimed redundancy so currently staying at home looking after my little man and looking for another job. I live in a small town and would like something local so the search is not going great. However, it's only been a couple weeks and I've left just before Christmas, so hopefully I'll have some luck in January.

RainbowTortoise · 06/01/2015 10:43

I'm a stay at home mum. I was going to be a London commuter (all these ideas whilst I was pregnant but in reality it just would not have worked), so I decided not to go back to work. I worked with under 5's doing Forest School.

I really respect my partner for working so hard so I can have this time with my little one (soon to be little ones :-) ) I love being able to stay at home with her.

On another note, my diet is getting worse by the day, started off with toast today, soon progressed to ready salted crisps (could really do with another bag) and after eight mints. I put on three stone during my last pregnancy and dd only weighed 6.6 lbs. Breastfeeding soon got rid of the extra baby weight though. A bit worried as I'm not working during this pregnancy and there are so many opportunities to eat rubbish!

iamhopeful · 06/01/2015 12:16

Grumble alert, I was all set for my booking app with the midwife this afternoon. Dh was coming home to work and watch dd for a while. Just got a call to say the Dr mis-booked and I now need to go tomorrow morning. This means with an active 2 yr old in tow. Frustrated at waiting what seems like forever only to have it changed. Rant over, can I blame hormones?

NatalieBee · 06/01/2015 12:21

welcome to all the new ladies Smile

I am really struggling with sickness. I haven't ate since yesterday tea and that was a pot noodle! I feel horrific! I've tried ginger and crackers but not doing much! Does anyone have any ideas?

User24689 · 06/01/2015 12:32

Natalie, I feel dreadful if I stop eating. I would try even if there is a risk it comes back up. I totally sympathise, its miserable. I find salty carbs work for me - ready salted crisps are good and salty crackers. I've also been eating ice lollies to keep hydrated, they tend to take the edge off the sickness. It is 35 degrees where I live though so I appreciate they are not that appetising if it's winter where you are!! Have you got seabands?

madasaboxafrogs · 06/01/2015 12:38

Hi, will be lurking here for a bit this is #3 for me and due ~8/8 however based on my last two will be more like the 13/8. I will have 3 under 4.5, must be mad!
Just started on antisickness tablets again, had these until 22 weeks last time. Im shattered and can already feel it in my back. Yes, am also starting to show which is a bit of a pain.
Natalie have you tried peppermint? I have barely eaten for days, try drinking lucozade lite to ensure you are staying hydrated. Pickled onion crisps and wheat crunchies got me through last time. Also try to cut down on fatty foods, dairy etc. failing that go see your doctor, especially if you cant keep anything down.

birchwoods · 06/01/2015 12:49

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the list and new thread guy that must have taken an age!

I've been quiet since before Christmas. We told our parents and siblings (and a few close friends) over Christmas after having an early scan and they couldn't be more overjoyed for us, particularly my parents.

I haven't really had any nausea, apart from on Saturday night when I had a tummy upset (read: the runs) and felt sick all evening, but I do feel a bit dodgy when I get hungry. As a result, and due to Christmas, I have put on about 5lbs already, so annoyed with myself!!
I've still go really sore, rapidly increasing boobs and am now in non-underwired bras (got two from M&S and one Belvia bra, which is so comfy, no diggy in back bit).

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? I don't know if it's the boobs or just my mind racing/worrying but I have had such disturbed sleep and everything and anything wakes me up throughout the night.

I have my first contact mw appt on Thursday, which will apparently only be about 30 mins, then the mw will make another appt to visit me at home, which will be about an hour long. 12 wk scan on 27th Jan, I will be bang on 12 weeks that day if the dates are correct from the early scan (plus one day from where I thought I was).

I'm an ecologist and manage a science team at a consultancy and wondering when to tell them, it's a really small family business so very lovely and friendly. Three weeks seems like such a long time to wait!

Glad everyone is ok. I hope those of you suffering with nausea get some relief soon!

I am 9 weeks today according to early scan dates (or 9+1 according to my dates). Looking forward to getting a definitive DD at 12 wk scan!

ILoveYouBaby · 06/01/2015 14:08

It's really hard with sickness but the more you can eat the better. I've been living on popchips, toast, hula hoops and cold fizzy water. I know that's easier said than done, but it's worth it.

I've been getting stretchy ligament pain the last few days. I didn't get it until 20+ weeks last time.

I bumped into a local mum friend yesterday, and she's pregnant with her second. there'll be the same gap between our kids, and I'm pleased there'll be someone around I know already.

Dating scan on Friday. Can't wait!

I hope everyone's nausea subsides soon. glad you got your anti vom meds frog

Rikalaily · 06/01/2015 14:35

Oh god the sickness, mine only kicked in on Christmas eve and I'm sick of it already. I feel sick whenever I don't eat, everything I look at is disgusting, I'm ok once I force myself to start eating but absolutely no appetite. I'm preferring the taste of healthy foods but they don't fill me enough to stop the sick feeling so I'm eating crap. I usually only eat twice a day but I'm having three meals and grazing in between atm, doesn't help my already overweightness. This morning when the sickness eased I had toast with Jam (I never eat jam!) and then had a ham, cheese and salad cream sarnie with ready salted crisps and a coffee (rarely drink coffee!) for lunch.

I'm finding the exhaustion worse, I've never been this tired during a pregnancy before, I'm finding it really hard to cope with just everyday things. Really hoping there's just one in there!

mrspana · 06/01/2015 16:11

Hope everyone is feeling ok and coping back at work... I've found it good to have the distraction tbh. Sorry to those of you who are feeling sick, I get nausea in waves but nothing too bad thankfully!

Anyone got older kids? Mine will be 6 at the end of the month and struggling to decide when to tell them. Part of me thinks now so they understand why I can't pick them up cause it hurts my back etc but rest of me thinks it's too early. I'm 7+5. Had scan and seen a nice strong heartbeat but still haven't told anyone else yet x

NatalieBee · 06/01/2015 16:28

Thankyou for all the advice girls :) I have been chewing on mints all day! Managed to have some lunch at a safe time between 2 and 3 lol! Heading to boots to get travel sickness bands, here's hoping!

Can't concentrate on anything atm exept my scan on Thursday! Grin

My hubby has a hospital appointment tmorrow as has a genetic condition which affects the kidneys called alports syndrome and lead to him having a kidney transplant so going to find out the stats of our baby getting it tomorrow when speaking to his consultant. I'm sure it's pretty likely which is worrying already!

Guyropes · 06/01/2015 16:41

Mrspana... I'm not telling my older kids until I've had a good result from nuchal scan. They are desperate for a younger sibling and would be devastated if it went wrong somehow. But they've been after a sibling for so long.....

Guyropes · 06/01/2015 16:42

Natalie... Hope the consultant can offer some reassurance tomorrow. Best if luck.
