Just had an emotional breakdown (full on bawling) because I thought DH was annoyed that I wanted to watch one born (He wasn't btw). What is going on?!

pinkie87 · 10/03/2015 22:20

I'm definitely getting weird pains on my left now and then. Sort of sharp though not like cramps. A bit like pulling. Odd but I figure it goes with the territory!

frolic champagne taste and cider budget is so me! I feel your pain! We're trying to be good and get lots of second hand bits too but so hard to resist all of the beautiful things!

I'm watching one born on plus one and I can already tell I'm going to be emotional with the state I'm in tonight!

Equimum · 11/03/2015 07:03

DH banned me from watching OBEM Sad!

I'm another one with champagne tastes on a cider budget. I went into town yesterday morning and saw so
many beautiful things. If this baby turns out to be a girl, I'll have real trouble restraining myself! I bought the most gorgeous summer outfit for a friends baby, though, so got my 'fix' that way.

Over the last couple of days I seem to have been hit by several bouts of nausea. I thought that was all in the past, but it would seen not Sad.

OMC1 · 11/03/2015 11:55

pinkie87 I am getting weird pains too (17+5) - I know it's just my body stretching and accommodating, but they are weird!

I am still not 100% convinced I have felt baby move, yet I thought I did last week but not had a similar feeling since, so think it was just a muscle movement!

Equimum I can't watch OBEM, I know I will just freak myself out! Sorry to hear you're suffering with nausea, I hope it passes very quickly!

ruby242 · 11/03/2015 13:57

I normally love one born every minute but I'm not letting myself watch this season until I've had the baby as I'm worried it will just panic me about how hard the birth will be!! Also I would probably cry so much when you see the baby being born lol.

Sorry Equimum that you're nausea is back :( Hopefully short lived!!!

I'm guessing we must have some 20 week scans coming up soon for those due in early August :)

Augustwedding · 11/03/2015 14:27

Had my 20 week scan mon, all healthy! Starting to clear put house now to get space for all baby stuff!

Guyropes · 11/03/2015 14:48

Hi everyone.... I LOVE obem! Might save up and watch them back to back tho.

20 week scan next week.... Glad yours went well August

Just wondering how shantotto is getting on.... If I remember right she got a worrying result back from ds screening. If you're lurking, shantotto, hope you are getting on ok, and I'm thinking of you whatever you are going through next.

I've graduated from nausea to heartburn now! Anyone else?

OMC1 · 11/03/2015 15:15

Ruby mine is 247 March - I am so impatient! I keep telling myself to slow down and enjoy being pregnant, but I just can't wait for each new milestone!

Augustwedding I am so pleased your scan went well, did you find out what the baby's sex is?

Guyropes No heartburn yet, although a lot of mums I have spoken to have warned me about it!

Augustwedding · 11/03/2015 15:27

ONC1 we are having a boy!

Joskar · 11/03/2015 21:51

I can't even watch Call the Midwife much less obem! Brave ladies!

No baby movements yet. I had felt them by this time with dd. MW appt tomorrow so hopefully I'll get to hear the heartbeat.

We're not going to find out the sex. Last time we "knew" we were having a girl to the extent that we didn't have any boy names and she was she from very early on. This time I'm not sure yet although I have a long list of boy names already so maybe... Anyone else got a feeling about it? Should we do a predictions list and see if we're right?!

mzzzf · 11/03/2015 22:03

Argh! No proper internet for days! So frustrating that I've not had my Mumsnet fix!!
I hope you're all doing well, I'll have a proper read back later but for now I'm going to google more about anomaly scans as I have mine on Friday - double argh!!!!! Shock

Equimum · 12/03/2015 07:01

How exciting to know what you're having August.

I hope everything goes well today Joskar.

Good luck to this of you with scans this week. I'm not Envy at all! We have ours on 1st April.

I'm not joining in on any predictions after last time. We were convinced we were having a girl. Everyone else was convinced we were having a girl (even without us saying anything), than out popped DS! We're hoping to find out for sure(ish) this time.

ruby242 · 12/03/2015 10:37

I was convinced that I was having a girl and am having a boy so clearly my mother's instinct was totally off!! Would be interesting to see how many peoples is correct though!

birchwoods · 12/03/2015 10:46

Morning fellow preggy Sues!

Hope all ok, exciting all these 20 week scans coming up! Mine is a week tomorrow, starting to get nervous now.

Pinkie I've had a few sharp pains low down but to the right this morning, hopefully just stretching too.

I've been suffering the hell that is constipation for god knows how long. I'm going to have to go down the 'medicated relief' road I think, I can't bear it any more!

Prediction-wise, we're not going to find out what we're having but I've thought from the start it might be a boy, then I thought maybe girl and now I think boy again. I've had about three dreams where I find out the sex of the baby during the dream and it's always a boy. However, all the old wives' tales, nub theory etc... point towards it being a girl. Although we want a surprise, I'm secretly hoping I'll be able to see something during the 20 week scan, I'm not going to look away. Do they have a good look at the baby's bits during the anomaly scan as a routine or do they avoid that area if you say you don't want to know?

Who has felt movement and how far along are you and first/second baby? I'm 18+5 today (first baby) but haven't felt anything yet.

Have a good day everyone, nearly Friday!!

sianihedgehog · 12/03/2015 11:37

ruby242 we're not telling anyone the sex (I HATE gendered baby stuff so we're just saying that we want a surprise), but found out with the Harmony test at 12 weeks.

I had a very strong "feeling" and it was totally wrong.

Sparrowlegs248 · 12/03/2015 14:33

Just a quick dip in while at work....

I felt movement 17was on the dot, this is my first baby. Currently 19 +5 and feeling movement several times a day now.

Re the constitution. I have also had it a bit. But, had chips for lunch yesterday and omfg!!! Seriously 'loose' movements last night. Three times. So i know what to do in future.....

Fanby · 12/03/2015 15:04

Hello! Haven't been on here for a while and can see that there is loads to catch up on. My aunt sadly passed away last week so i've been to'ing and fro'ing from London to 'home'. My midwife appointment went really well (apart from me crying) and I got to hear bump's heartbeat so I'm massively relieved. I recorded it for DH (he had to work) and even he got a little emosh!
The last couple of days I think i've felt a couple of flutters but not sure if it's the baby or not?!

I've had a quick scan read of all the posts and i'm so pleased to hear all of your news.

birchwoods sorry to hear the constipation – isn't it the worst? I found it difficult to know at one point whether it was stretching pains or bowel related! Weirdly i'm now the other way and can't stop going...
Like you i've been convinced bump is a boy but I went to my first pregnancy yoga yesterday and then thought it might be a girl all of a sudden! Our next scan is at 22weeks and not for another month so got a while to wait. Fingers crossed he or she is in a good position as we'd like to find out the gender/sex.

Augustwedding Congrats on your boy bump :)

Equimum Hope the sickness has passed again and you're feeling better

Good luck to all those with up coming scans and hope everyone is enjoying the little bit of lovely weather we're having x

birchwoods · 12/03/2015 15:32

Sorry to hear about your Aunty Fanby.

Notta, I don't need convincing to eat chips, will give it a go!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I don't need to worry that I haven't felt movement yet do I (18+5)?

What did it feel like notta?

Sparrowlegs248 · 12/03/2015 18:17

birchwood the sonographer asked us at the start if we wanted to know the sex and we said no. When he got to looking at the crucial area he turned the screen away! So no guesses at all. a

Equimum · 12/03/2015 18:21

Sorry to hear about your aunt Fanby.

I don't think you need to worry yet birchwoods. Is this your first? I have only felt what I can be sure is movement over the past week, (I'm 17+5) and this is my second. I think I was 19+ when I felt it last time round.

Sparrowlegs248 · 12/03/2015 18:27

Sorry, didn't see those last two posts til after I posted. Sorry to hear about your Aunt fanby. I think crying at MW appointments is pretty standard, i did at my consultant appointment when he did a scan. Was so relieved everything ws ok.

birchwood My book has only just started mentioning movements, I am 19 + 5 and it says to expect to start feeling it in the next week or two. I first felt it laying in the bath relaxing. It felt like a fish flopping, you know when they are out of water? A goldfish! It did it a couple of times then didn't feel it again for nearly a week. It was quite obviously baby movement though, and i felt it against my hand when i pressed my had to my tummy. Yesterday was the first time i felt it during the day, usually its easier to notice at night when i am sitting/laying still. I'm sure you will notice it soon. Its comforting to me now, to feel it flopping about. :-)

Isabeau1980 · 12/03/2015 22:02

Fanby Sorry about your aunt.

Dozygirl · 12/03/2015 22:27

fanby sorry to hear about your aunt. Flowers

I've not had any movements yet. 18 weeks tomorrow. Can't wair to start feeling it. Think I'm getting more of a bump now although i still think most of it is chubby belly too. My work uniform isn't going to last much longer. It already feels a little uncomfortable which I'm not enjoying. Just feel fat rather than pregnant.

Fanby · 13/03/2015 10:26

Thanks everyone, she'd been poorly for a while, I'm just very sad she's not going to know our little person. However most importantly, least she is no longer in pain.

I think I felt quite a bit of movement yesterday but as this is my first i'm still not completely sure whether it's baby or not (most likely wind!). I think when I start feeling and seeing it on the outside i'll definitely know!

I can't believe I'm 18 weeks, the last few seem to have gone pretty quickly. I really like the cots from this website en.mokee.eu/cots.html, i'm going to measure the width of the teeny tiny room the baby will eventually go in today to see if it'll fit width ways…

Happy Friday to you all - anyone doing anything fun for comic relief today?

pinkie87 · 13/03/2015 10:32

sorry to hear your news fanby.

All this talk of movement is getting me excited! But I am bringing up the rear at 16 weeks today so I think I have a while to wait. Still not sure if I am developing or just getting fat buy my jeans are defo tight now!

We have our gender scan on Monday so I'm looking forward to seeing the little (or less little now) bean again. just looking forward to not having to call the baby "it" anymore!

My hip pain has eased off too so I'm feeling quite positive at the mo. :)
