It's the bump patting I hate. Haven't had any yet but random old lady patted my bump last time. Just weird.

Dozygirl · 07/03/2015 08:45

I'm dreading the touching the bump moments. I like physical touch from people I want to touch me like hugs etc but I know I'm not gonna like people touching my bump at all. I find the attention u get a but uncomfortable as well like when people say save a seat for the pregnant lady etc. It makes me embarrassed because I don't feel all that pregnant yet. Maybe later on when I'm huge and waddling I'll appreciate it but not at the moment.

frolic I remember lucky frolicdog mascot from the ttc boards :) spaniels are pretty crazy aren't they lol. Mil reckons that spaniels don't grow out of puppy mode till they are at least 9 years old. Not sure how true that is but it sounds about right knowing what most of them are like.

Definitely think it was just wind I was feeling yesterday rather than movement Heehee. Hopefully I'll be able to differentiate soon.

sianihedgehog · 07/03/2015 09:17

I got all the "was it planned" comments out of the way in the last pregnancy before the miscarriage I think! This time around everyone is afraid to say anything.

Only had two bump pattings so far and I was actually surprised at how uncomfortable they made me. I am usually fine with people picking me up and stuff (I'm very small, it happens a lot) but apparently my belly feels like a really private part! I felt like they'd squeezed my boob or something!

I've not really been to bothered by the people telling me about awfulness to expect - I'm obsessed about knowing everything about pregnancy and birth before it happens, so I've already read about them anyways, and I think most of the ladies doing it are looking for a bonding moment over shared hardship. I feel quite bad though, my closest mum friend had a MUCH harder pregnancy than I have so far (and expected much less horribleness because she's in her prime and I'm in my late 30s), so there've been a lot of times of me saying "actually, I haven't thrown up at all" or "I'm cycling to work" where I felt really guilty, like I'm failing to sympathise. :(

Frolicacid · 07/03/2015 11:46

Quick newsflash!!!! I have not vomitted since Thursday night!! I'm so happy. I feel like a different woman. Can everyone please send loads of positive vibes for this to continue? Especially as I have our two nieces staying the weekend.

I hope you all have a good weekend. I'm glad I'm not the only one having unwanted comments Grin

Sparrowlegs248 · 07/03/2015 18:06

Congrats on the lack of vomited frolic long may it continue!

In one of my grumpier moments I responded to the 'was it planned?' question with 'gosh what a personal question......' seemed to do the trick!

Pisses me right off tbh and I will not cope with bump touchers! I have seen a t shirt with 'don't touch the bump' on the front. Might get one ten

19 wks today, and getting daily movement now. Looked at myself front on in the mirror, let tummy relax and I have a proper preggo bump!!

20wk scan on weds. Fx all is well. So anxious.

Dozygirl · 07/03/2015 20:52

Yey frolic that's brill!!

pinkie87 · 07/03/2015 21:45

Glad to hear it frolic! Hope it stays that way!

ruby242 · 08/03/2015 08:24

Great news frolic-it feels amazing when you recover doesn't it!

Wow can't believe the comments and bump touching some of you have had-luckily none for me yet but maybe I should be prepared (although it hasn't shocked people that we wanted a baby and are newly married so maybe that's why I've avoided it!)

Have physio appointment tomorrow for pelvic pain so if she gives any good tips I'll share on here for the others that have it too. Hasn't gotten any worse and only bad when I've been really active so that's good-just don't want it to get worse!

Am really enjoying pregnancy now I feel better and the shopping has begun-i felt a bit bad that I hated the first trimester! I think I'm still the only one on team blue here!

Frolicacid · 08/03/2015 20:41

Thanks everyone!! I've had such a great weekend. Our nieces have been to stay and we've had so much fun. Being free from the unrelenting nausea and tiredness feels amazing.i it's like someone's flicked my switch back to 'on'.
I've been sick a few times, but that's mostly due to over ambitious eating of things like I've cream Sunday's!

I'm convinced I'll be team blue ruby. Hopefully we'll find out on the 1st of april. I'm holding off buying anything until we know. I can't wait to start shopping. What have you got so far? I have done a lot of looking and have more or less chosen most of the things we need like pram, cot, bouncy chair.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

ruby242 · 08/03/2015 21:48

Sounds like a lovely weekend frolic! Once my nausea went I still was sick on occasion for a few weeks until it completely went away so hopefully soon you will be completely fine! I was convinced I was having a girl so my mothers intuition was clearly totally off!

I have an idea on what larger items like cot, pram etc I want to go for but so far have just bought smaller items-lots of clothes, a few reusable nappies, breast pump (was on sale), cot sheet, hooded towel etc. Am trying to buy things when I see them on sale :) No idea how many newborn clothes I should buy though-my friend had a big baby so never used her newborn ones so I figure I shouldn't buy too many. But then what if I have a small baby! Hard to know! Might just keep the tags on some of them in case

Frolicacid · 08/03/2015 22:26

Hopefully I'll follow in your footsteps ruby and feel fine soon.
I'm so excited to start shopping. I had a look in a few shops on Friday. but I just kept putting things back thinking I may as well wait a few more weeks until we know the sex. I like bright stuff, and most of the non gender specific things seem to be in paler colours like cream or yellow.
I'm very lucky that my niece is just 2, so my sister is giving me loads of baby gear and we won't need to buy much.

Equimum · 09/03/2015 08:09

Glad to hear you are feeling better Frolic. I really hope it continues.

All this talk of shopping us making me want to make more purchases. DS is only 2, though, so there's not a huge amount we need. I get to buy all the exciting bits, like cot mattresses and new tyres for the pram! Once we know baby's gender, though, I will make a few clothing purchases. We didn't find out with DS, so all of our newborn things, and a lot of our 0-3 are neutral.

Ruby, how big was your friends baby? DS was 9lb but fitted in newborn for. Good 3-5 weeks, depending where it came from. We found the Sainsburys sleepsuits, which say upto 9lb web to nearer 11.5lb. I think it's a bit if a shape thing, though.

Now to avoid shopping sitesWink

sianihedgehog · 09/03/2015 11:07

Mothercare and h&m have some gender neutral stuff that's not beige, worth checking out for anyone else not doing pink and blue! Mothercare in particular have some lovely bright coloured stuff. We're all over the gender neutral stuff regardless of which flavour our baby is, just because we both hate the extreme gendering of children.

Great to hear everyone starting to buy stuff! We're going to buy the pram after our 20 week scan on the 25th. So far I've basically just transformed the sad brown box I packed baby gifts into after my miscarriage into a happy brown box by adding a few new clothes and toys. :)

ruby242 · 09/03/2015 12:51

That's great frolic that you will get some free baby bits-unfortunately this will be the first baby for our family so no hand me downs but oh well! Theres a nearly new sale in my area in the next fortnight so might have a look for some cheap things there too. I'm probably getting carried away buying too early but can't resist :)

Equimum my friends baby was almost 10 pounds I think-that's good that your 9 pound baby still used newborn clothes for quite a while though-I've bought some really cute newborn ones so would hate not to be able to use them!

Sianihedgehog yes ive found mothercare the best for neutral clothes too-I like a mix of neutral and typical boy clothes :) We are planning on buying the pram a few weeks after our 20 week scan too, exciting! Horray for your happy brown box :)

Had my physio appointment today for pelvic girdle pain, she was quite good. Gave me a tubigrip piece of material to go around my bump on active days and some exercises to do-she said if I continue the exercises it shouldn't get too much worse as I get bigger so that's positive as at the moment its really only bad if I overdo it and have a really active day.

NatalieBee · 09/03/2015 19:28

Hi ladies, haven't posted in a while, seems like everyone is so far ahead of me :o me being due August 30th!

Just curious if anyone had any light cramps around 15weeks? I dunno if it's gas or stretching or something else Confused after 2 early MC I am going off my head! Private scan on Sunday tho we booked ages ago Smile

em165 · 09/03/2015 19:54

Natalie, I'm now almost 19 weeks and have been having cramps for the last few weeks. They feel almost the same as the period pain type cramps as I had right at the start of pregnancy, but a little less painful. It worried me at first but I assume its just things stretching as the baby gets bigger :)

ruby242 · 09/03/2015 19:56

Yes I've had period-like cramps for the last week too. Googled as was in a panic but all normal apparently :)

NatalieBee · 09/03/2015 20:05

Thankyou em and ruby Google is not our friend! I am stepping away Grin So good to know its normal tho and not always bad!

Frolicacid · 09/03/2015 20:17

Oh my god!! I want to eat everything in sight!! Someone needs to stop me Smile

I'm glad your physio appt went well ruby. Spd sounds horrible. Fx it doesn't get any worse for you.

I've had a lot of pain over the past few weeks natalie. I'm due on the 21st, so not far ahead of you. Midwife said it was all the ligaments stretching and pulling the uterus up from the pelvic area. It's getting better, but coughing or sneezing is agony.

I love all the shopping talk! It's great that we're getting so much stuff from my sister, but my inner shopaholic kind of wants to chose it all myself. Champagne taste and cider budget has always been a problem for me. This week I'm in love with moba Moses baskets. Has anyone seen them? They are funky and brightly coloured. I really want one! But I've bern offered at least 4 normal ones from friends and family so I really shouldn't. And we'd decided not to bother as we wil have a crib for upstairs and carry cot for downstairs. But they are so pretty!!!

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. Sugar high!! I hope everyone had a good Monday.

Joskar · 09/03/2015 21:32

Plenty cramps here too. My left side particularly. Very annoying. Almost as annoying as the SPD which is growing steadily worse in spite of physio and exercises. Boo.

Having spent months pretty much off food and puking I seen to have regained my appetite in the last couple of days.

Bring me ALL the chocolate!

Frolicacid · 09/03/2015 21:57

I'm sorry jock, but I think I may have scoffed it all tonight Wink

happygojo · 10/03/2015 19:02

I have been sooo hungry today... Like I have hollow legs or something. Need to try and be good as I am making up for the first trimester weight loss with a vengeance! Need to try and pull it back otherwise I will end up properly massive. Went for a walk tonight so trying to keep it under control lol!

Frolicacid · 10/03/2015 20:12

Me too happy! I have been ravenous all day. I cooked a proper dinner for the first time in months. It was lovely and I've really missed cooking. I'm now demolishing a batternburg Smile

All the eating over the past few days has played havoc with my poor digestive system. I've been horribly constipated and now I've got bloody piles! horrible.

Is anyone going to watch one born every minute tonight? We don't usually, but might give it a go this series.

Dozygirl · 10/03/2015 20:48

Pregnancy is so glamorous isn't it frolic! I don't particularly strain but quite frequently get a lot of bleeding after a number 2. No other signs of piles but I wonder if that's what it is. Doesn't happen all the time but it always looks quite a lot when it does happen.

Went to aquanatal this week. last week we just seemed to bob around in the water but this week felt like a lot more and I appeared to have pulled a muscle in my inner thigh haha. I can't believe it! It still didn't feel like much exercise at the time. Must be all the loose ligaments that u get in pregnancy.

Dozygirl · 10/03/2015 20:50

Oh and I recorded and old episode of one born every minute the other week and watched it yesterday. It terrified me and then made me cry when the babies were born! I've seen loads of real life births because of my job but it's not the same. I try not to look or get involved and just wait for the baby to come out and take over then.

I wanted to go to the birthing suite rather than the delivery suite but u can't have an epidural and I think I might want one after seeing how much pain the women were in!
