I had a very rock and roll night too - take away curry and watched cat in the hat! Managed to stay awake for 12 though.

Had scan on Tuesday but bubba was in an awkward position so have to go back on Wednesday so they can finish off. Has anybody else tried lucozade or coke? Any other tips?

shinyhappyone · 01/01/2015 10:42

Happy 2015 folks. I felt fairly good about making it til 2am playing board games with friends but then it started going wrong... We're at the in laws and their dog had crapped in our bedroom. Cue me stepping in it and ruining my new slippers (now in bin!) Then slept for about 40 mins before throwing up for an hour! Needless to say I'm exhausted today and face a 3 hour journey home Hmm.
Right that's my whinge over with. 2015 will be much better from here!!! Grin Hope everyone had a good one and is looking forward to our very exciting year! xx

Sunshinesaz86 · 01/01/2015 10:56

Happy new year ladies. Happy birthday just.
Sorry u had a bit of a nightmare shiny.
We had a nice night at a friends and got home just before 12 to see in the new year just the two of us?

So until now I've been counting up to the weeks of how far along I am, but now I'm 21 weeks I'm sort of counting down.......19 weeks to go! Eeek x x

kittiker · 01/01/2015 11:01

Happy New Year, everyone!

Ours was very quiet, just me and DH and the cats. Still managed to stay up stupidly late though so a sofa day today, I think - bit of knitting, bit of telly. We figure we might as well enjoy the peace and quiet while we still have it!

Blondie87 · 01/01/2015 11:19

Happy New a Year! Gosh becoming a mummy this year-wow!
Kittiker have to say once I found out I'm having a little boy I've bought some cute outfits and my friend brought round a beautiful blue White Company blanket. Let me know what the Snuzpod is like! DH and I are keen to get one. I always thought I wouldn't buy baby things until he was born but it's so hard to resist!
Jazzy thanks for updating the stats. Quite a lot more blue than pink at mo. Have a lovely NYD everyone x

Racheyg · 01/01/2015 12:22

Jazzy-updated my info on the spread sheet :) interesting to see the boy to girl ratio x

Chookford · 01/01/2015 12:34

I managed to see in the new year then went straight to sleep... So far this morning my dd has projectile vomited twice all over the house.. The joys Sad

Snooky17 · 01/01/2015 13:55

Happy new year everyone, feel like crap tummy bug Xmas eve cramps and loose BM, then again mon then again yesterday but the cramping is making it feel like I've done tons of sit ups, feel nauseaus too. Feel baby move and hb is good do trying not to worry.
Aldo does anyone else have the customised growth chart on their notes now if they have had their 20 week scan, I know not all hosp do them, my estimated is 8lb, however my other 3 have been all just under 7lb not sure how reliable they are

bradders85 · 01/01/2015 14:09

Happy new year everyone, happy birthday just and hope your feeling better soon snooky.

Snooky I have got that growth chart thing in my notes (just checked now!) it went in mine after 12 week scan and estimated 8lb 3oz....so who knows!
Has anyone used water wipes before? I am browsing the boots website and they have a big box of them on offer and thought perhaps easier and less fuss than cotton wool? I have no clue so any views welcome Smile

Threesoundslikealot · 01/01/2015 14:27

Cotton wool is a nightmare! I recommend buying washable wipes - basic flannel ones will do rather than the ones that come with lots of oils etc - and you can use them all the way through. Cheap and effective. If you live in an area that does real nappy vouchers, you can use it for wipes too.

And Happy 2015 everyone!

Mslad · 01/01/2015 15:22

Happy new year everyone! And a huge welcome to the newbies! Smile

2015! It really feels like we're on our way now!

Is there anyone else not feeling kicks yet? I'm 20+3 & still only think I feel flutters. Everyone in RL tells me that's normal but I feel like I'm the only one here not really feeling anything. Plus I have a posterior placenta so thought I would feel them by now. Sorry for the worried post- perhaps my NYE resolution should be to be more positive? Hmm

Racheyg · 01/01/2015 15:44

Mslad- with my first I didn't feel anything till 19/20 weeks, then he wouldn't stop Grin

I'm 18 + 4 and I felt flutters at 15 weeks while getting my legs waxed but now nothing since before Xmas. Please don't worry the baby is still v small you may find that in the next few days you will notice and then the movements will be non stop xx

Snooky17 · 01/01/2015 15:51

Agree with Three cotton wool is an absolute pain, also been looking at te water wipes for when baby is newborn, I'm really funny about wipes some feel funny and I can't touch them, I'm still struggling to tell difference between gas and baby moving but as Rach said baby is only small yet, thought this worrying stopped at 12 weeks is no wonder I'm going grey lol

KittyVonCatsington · 01/01/2015 16:43

Water Wipes it is then! Can't be arsed no pun intended with cotton wool and water bowls Grin

bradders85 · 01/01/2015 16:47

my view exactly Kitty - water wipes sound like the ideal alternative for a newborn - my order is placed!

Mslad · 01/01/2015 19:27

Thanks Ladies, I'll just have to hold my nerve till my scan on Wednesday. It feels like a very long time since my 12 week scan!

Tori I started to feel like that at around 18 weeks.... The heavy dragging feeling- I presume it's normal?

FeelingBlessed77 · 01/01/2015 20:03

Tori - that's how I felt at 18 weeks.

Justyouwaitandsee · 01/01/2015 20:10

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, DH and PIL have made it extra special. Buck's Fizz from our wedding champagne flutes, roast beef, Apple pie, double cream and fresh cream Victoria sponge bday cake Smile

MsLad - my SIL's sister didn't feel any movement until 26 weeks but all was still well. I think it can just vary dependent on both mum and baby. Hope you feel those first special kicks very soon!

Threesoundslikealot · 01/01/2015 20:12

Washable wipes aren't Water Wipes!

KittyVonCatsington · 01/01/2015 20:25

Oh I know Three Grin Can't be bothered with washing flannel-type wipes either so Water Wipes sounds like a nice compromise until I can use Pampers or Huggies wipes xxx

Turquoisetamborine · 01/01/2015 20:33

Why can't you use normal wipes? I used Huggies wipes with my son from birth. Couldn't get away with cotton wool. He was fine with them.

Glad you had a lovely birthday Just. Birthdays around this time of year deserve to be extra special.

The movement I'm feeling is more like turning and jumping around than kicks although there probably are some kicks in there. My uterus is half the size of normal so the baby doesn't have as much room so it's much more pronounced with me.
The sonographer said my son will have stretched it for his brother though, I thought that was nice!

KittyVonCatsington · 01/01/2015 20:44

Very PFB of me Turquoise - am sure I will turn to normal wipes after the first Poonami Grin but the initial reason is the addition of minor chemicals (scents and the like) that don't sit well with newborn skin. Of course, nothing 'bad' will happen if normal wipes are used Smile

d0ttyne11 · 01/01/2015 21:00

Thanks for setting up this new thread and I can't believe it's January either.

Exciting that so many of you have had your 20 wk scans too. That's brilliant. Are the babies far clearer than at 12 wks? We have ours next Friday and I can't wait. Roll on Friday 9th Jan. It's been ages since Halloween when we saw our little one last. I hadn't appreciated so many were Team Yellow like me and I'm still hoping for a surprise in May.

I'll email you Tits as had the same concern re the fb page. Take care ladies and here's to an extra special 2015 x

d0ttyne11 · 01/01/2015 21:32

Ohh thanks for swift fb invite! Much appreciated. The 20 wk scan pics on there are fabulous too. Congrats again ladies xx
