Glad to know I've been approved Trying!

Elizabeth glad you've had a good scan. Try not to worry about a slightly higher risk. Even 1 in 100 is really low, but they class it as a high risk result.

I haven't had an emotional outburst just yet, but I've been close a number of times. I'm avoiding certain news stories at the moment.

Marking place, thanks for the new thread.. Will check in properly later but i think there is 2 scans today and then just 1 left on friday and all 12 week scans complete (for those who i've added stats for)... Yay, seems like a milestone to me, then we're into more gender scans aswell from friday!

Chookford · 17/12/2014 16:19

elizabeth congrats on the good scan news.. As mentioned don't worry too much about being higher risk it doesn't mean anything is wrong!

ChatEnOeuf · 17/12/2014 16:42

Evening ladies. Can you please all go and fill up the old thread, it's upsetting my OCD Grin Ta.

I'm trying not to lift DD (3.4) if I can help it - with the rocky start this pregnancy had I'm trying not to rock the boat any more than I have to. If she's tired, poorly, needs comforting etc. then obviously I do, but the arbitrary demands for a cuddle are only given in to when we're on the sofa together. She's taken it pretty well to be honest.

I've had a couple of 'moments'. DH is appalled, I'm usually the level-headed one - he always tells me that I'll have to do readings at his family funerals as I'll be the only one able to string a sentence together Hmm

bubalou · 17/12/2014 16:51

Hey all,

Marking my place.

Hope all is well. Sorry haven't been able to catch up on thread for ages - been sick and busy.

16 weeks here. Can't believe I'm that far along. At time it drags and others its like - wow!

Hope everyone is set for xmas. I've been running round being gifts for teachers etc today! It's never ending!

Has anybody been getting pains? It's my second so I know stye thing etc is normal but it is horrid getting pains. I had real bad pain under my rib yesterday.

Confused
Phryn · 17/12/2014 17:31

Double fail!

In an attempt to help chats OCD I posted a few messages on the old thread intending to leave space for the new thread link (great idea from anything.

Instead somehow I posted the same message about five times and no time to get to go on a computer and get the link before the thread was filled. Sad

I then posted an apology for doing so on the positivity after miscarriage AN thread which I'm also active on.

After my worrying pain in stomach - on no it's just my trousers moment earlier I think it's a good thing my last day before Christmas is tomorrow! Wink

heidibuttons · 17/12/2014 17:44

Hello all,

There must have been 3000 messages since I last checked! I have updated my stats (I think) and have had my 12 week and 4 day scan. My first NHS scan was actually at 10+1 which was too early to do NT scan so I got to come back for another peek - yay! Baby was very active - took the sonographer a long time to get the measurements she needed. NT measurement was the high end of normal but my results have come back as low risk (1:6100).

I have had my 16 wk antenatal appointment at 14 weeks because they are monitoring my thyroxine levels. Next antenatal is at 18 and a half with my scan after that at 19 and a half weeks. Nothing exciting going on now til January!

Nausea is fading and so is the complete exhaustion - now I am just tired! I managed to fit in my Christmas party dress on Friday for our work's night out - hold me in tights were not fun to wear but I think they were needed. I hadn't put any weight on until last week - 3lbs up in the past week - yikes!

Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas :-)

newbie6 · 17/12/2014 18:16

Thanks all, advice came from people a lot older so probably forgotten what it's like to have a toddler Wink

Anyway, cause I have high risk pregnancies it freaked me out a bit as I have enough to worry about without thinking lifting my toddler could cause problems so hence I wanted to ask. Thanks again x

ChatEnOeuf · 17/12/2014 18:21

Aah, that's better Grin

Thelovecats · 17/12/2014 18:40

Marking place...

Re lifting, I don't think it's an issue if you are careful- Straight back, hold in your tummy/pelvic floor muscles etc?

I'm def feeling as sick as I was- nearly 14 weeks now. So tired though, but that's probably the kids fault!

Thelovecats · 17/12/2014 18:40

Not feeling as sick I meant

croon979 · 17/12/2014 18:47

Hello all, marking place too....had mega busy last week so sorry for being quiet but think I have caught up now.

Teenie - I don't know if you are still reading but my heart goes out to you. Take care xx

I am 15+1 now and feeling pretty good although bizarrely, like ots, I was randomly sick this morning too. Odd as I haven't been or felt sick once yet. I think my super sensitive nose caught a whiff of something I or baby didn't like and it just turned my stomach. However, after that random episode, I feel fine again. Thankfully the tiredness has also largely lifted which I am embracing.

Only 2 more days at work for me and then I am off for Christmas - whoop!

I have not felt any kicks yet bug I am definitely getting a cute little bump now :). Going to have to purchase maternity leggings/tights soon.

Got my 16 week check up tomorrow so hoping midwife may try and hear heartbeat.

Hope you are all well xx

AnythingNotEverything · 17/12/2014 19:40

Ha Phryn - that's so funny!

Struggling to keep up... Such a chatty lot! Smile Just had a few pages to read on previous thread, such sad news for teenie, sending love if you're still reading...
I've been sent home from work today, I'm a teacher and as lovely as this time of year is it's seriously draining. Very embarrassing going into the head teachers office for a chat and bursting into uncontrollable tears over a blocked nose and earache! Fortunately she was very understanding and told me to not come back til January! Popped into the chemist on the way home to see if there was anything I could take, to obviously be told 'nothing except paracetamol!"
Was a little concerned though as I've been sleeping with olbas oil on my pillow and he advised against this? He said steam is best, just boiling water... Has anyone else got any natural remedies or tips or things I could try that won't cause pregnancy problems? Feeling pretty desperate! Sad

Emz my pharmacvist said olbas oil/ vicks was ok. I have had sinusitis for over a week and tbh neither have helped was they are soothing in their own way. GP prescribes a steroid nasal spray on Monday - basically flixonase. Meant to take a few days for work but am hoping I'm gonna waske up as fresh as as bunny tomorrow.

Am still lifting 12kg DD. Heck, have a couple of patients I am therapeutically handling at the mo ie lifting to stand with assistance of colleague. I have a bit of a dodgy back too so am trying to be really careful.

Has anyone received their prescription exemption card yet? My gp surgery sent mine off 7 weeks ago and still haven't received it. The pharmacy very kindly gave me my drugs for free on Monday but I need to chase this up as don't want to get a penalty charge.

cuphat · 17/12/2014 20:13

I'm going to have to try to move my 20 week scan. My husband is away for the week with work, and my scan is on the Friday afternoon - perfect, I thought, he can just come back a couple of hours early. Except a week after i received the appointment letter he tells me he won't even ask if he can leave early as it'll be frowned on. And he's away (in the same place) the week after too. So not much chance of getting a new scan date he can attend. It looks like I'll have to attend the anomaly scan by myself. And I'm worried about it (being an anomaly scan and all). I could end up with bad news when I'm alone (I have no family here). Not happy.

ememsmum · 17/12/2014 20:13

Arghhh sorry for crappy tablet keyboard/autocorrect. Hope that all made sense.

cuphat · 17/12/2014 20:14

Glad your scan went well, Elizabeth.

Emems- I got mine just over a week after I posted it. Though if you ask me where I've put it, I might be hard pressed to answer.

Also, yay to Elizabeth for good scan news. Xmas Smile

cuphat · 17/12/2014 20:28

Thanks sunbathing. We've already had two private scans so not really an option to have another. I'm annoyed that he won't even ask to leave a couple of hours early.
