tracey congrats and welcome... Hope it all works out with the dad!

elizabeth I can't imagine how hard it must be for you doing this without your parents, but you will keep their memory alive by telling your baby all about them and sharing photos etc and they will grow up with a sense of knowing their grandparents I'm sure

traceybaybee · 18/12/2014 20:51

Thank you SunbathingCat and Elizabeth Xmas Grin. Tbh i cant see it working out hes made his mind up and now his 2 older boys and my wee one will have their dad halfway round the world. He told me to look after the wee one and that i dont haunt him with them whatever that means. So im going to be a single mummy and im very scared indeed

Im so glad i came across mumsnet sunbathingcat even if aibu can be a bit scary haha

MrsExtraOrdinary · 18/12/2014 21:22

Tracey don't be scared. Being a single mummy can actually be quite liberating. I found myself in that position pregnant with 3 young children. So I then became s mummy of 4. But I promise it was the best pregnancy I ever had. I chose to do things my way and didn't have anyone interfering. You'll be a great mum Thanks

Emz1989 · 18/12/2014 21:24

elizabeth as hard as this time must be for you - how wonderful that you've got something so precious to look forward to!
Welcome tracey, it's a shame that he is insistent that he's moving away but you sound strong and you'll get plenty of support here! Hope you've got plenty of real life support too

Chookford · 18/12/2014 21:25

tracey Im sure it must be a daunting prospect but lots of women do if and do it bloody well... You will be just fine and we are all here to listen when you need us

On a practical note Tracey, please make sure he provides financial support for the baby. I would contact the CSA now for advice. I know it's probably hard to think about right now.

Jazzy hope you're feeling ok

Elizabeth Brew Cake and hugs

traceybaybee · 18/12/2014 21:34

Thank you for the welcome everyone Smile. All i can do is do my best by the wee one when they get here. Thankfully i have a good support network around me. Names wise i only had logan as i was adamant im having a wee boy but i think im going to need girls names instead. Babys dad liked saoirse for a wee girl which means freedom and i quite like it but would be a middle instead of first name

Thelovecats · 18/12/2014 21:35

Tori I like atticus Smile
Names could be interesting for us, and my 5 year old keeps making suggestions and may be insulted if we don't use them!

im 8 weeks can i join xx

Thelovecats · 18/12/2014 21:40

One of my son's suggestion was sweetheart for a girl :D

Soph123 I don't mean to be rude, but if you're 8 weeks you wouldn't be due in June?

traceybaybee · 18/12/2014 21:41

thelovecats i dont know how maintenance abroad works. Got told i need a REMO so ill need to have a look into that asap

ots · 18/12/2014 21:50

We've got a definite name for a boy - Dexter :)
For a girl we both have a few that we like but can't agree. I love Eden but DH is not overly keen.

My 4 year old niece told me that if its a girl I have to call her Didi Strawberry Xmas Grin I told her I'll put it on the 'maybe' list.

Welcome Tracey :)

Chookford · 18/12/2014 21:52

tori I think Atticus is nice too! It's different

soph think you will be on the due in Aug thread?!

My dd came up with Daxton for a boy???! Confused

traceybaybee · 18/12/2014 21:54

Nacho has decided hes too comfy to move lol Xmas Grin

Chookford · 18/12/2014 21:56

tracey ha how cute is Nacho!!!

bubalou · 18/12/2014 21:56

Me and DH are so picky with names - I like quite a few. He vetoes almost all of them!!! Confused

I like phoebe for a girl and Max for a boy.

Still open to more that come along over the next 6 months. My list had 20 of each on but like i said - DH is a fussy nightmare!!!

Kyz · 18/12/2014 21:59

Evening all :)

17 weeks today and pleased to be in team BLUE! Very excited! I have thought boy so nice to know i'm right for a change! He wasn't at all shy on his scan and promptly opened his legs the minute the sonographer asked if we wanted to know the gender lol! The 4d image we got was quite good for 17 weeks apparently :) was lovely to see baby again anyway :) Thanks for all the good luck wishes :) Thankfully everyone has been very pleased/happy seeming, except FIL, but hey, you can't please everyone.

thanks for keeping the stats up to date jazzy, i haven't had thrush but call your midwife if you're worried - best to be safe :)

glad they could change your appt cuphat

my downs letter also said low risk, nothing else

mine was similar tori but she did at least ask if i was ok! Next appt with her is at 28 weeks which feels like a lifetime away!

glad your appt was ok Croon

smug i am finding sleep uncomfortable too. I have been resting my leg on a pillow when i am on my side, but i'm wondering if an actual pregnancy pillow would be worth investing in or not. I din't have one last time but maybe it'd be worth getting. Has anyone used one?

glad you heard baby jazzy hope everything gets sorted and the pink stops asap! don't you worry about the me posts, that's what this group is for after all! hugs xx

gr33dy lovely to hear from you - hope you have a lovely xmas xx

lovely pic Sassy

hi Tracey and welcome! It must seem daunting but try not to be scared, i bet you're going to do a fantastic job with your little one, with or without the help of the father

elizabeth sounds like a very tough time ahead :( will be thinking of you x

tori atticus is lovely and ots dexter is on my shortlist too :) I am 99.9% sure I have chosen babys name though. I am not telling family and friends IRL because my mum had a name picked for one of my sisters and by the time she arrived she couldn't stand it! I don't want the same thing to happen.

lovely pic tracey

traceybaybee · 18/12/2014 22:04

He is my best boy and i love him to bits. Certain family members seem to think i need to get rid of him when ive had baby but im not doing it. Hes been in my life over 2yrs and has helped me so much id be lost without him. Heres another cheeky one which he claimed my slippers in haha Xmas Grin
