DH helps out a lot before and after work. He's here most of the time but does have to go away for work every now and again. It is hard then as we have no family anywhere near. When I was really ill a few weeks back he had to take time off work as I was literally too ill to look after DD.

I've managed to change my 20 week scan to the 12th Jan. They asked the reason for wanting to change it and husband not being able to attend was a good reason apparently.

Sunbathing, mine were posted too, but the letter just said I was low risk and speak to your midwife for further info. I had my 16 week appt and asked her and she denied having any further info! I might ask the consultant when I go for that appt. Tbh I'm not worried based on the scan (nuchal measurement/looking at the nose) but I'd be interested to compare it to last time when I was a couple of years younger. Saying that, it wouldn't be comparing like for like as they'd be based on different tests.

cuphat · 18/12/2014 10:25

Oh and I feel lucky they could change the scan date as there were only 6 days in Jan that DH could attend! He'll be able to come with me just before he goes away for the week again. He very rarely goes away for that long, it's just bad timing.

Chookford · 18/12/2014 11:00

Morning ladies.

jazzy hope your feeling abit better this morning, it does does like thrush.

cup glad they could change your appt so that hubby can make it now.

I'm just wrapped the last of the Xmas presents so all done now, thank god! My back is hurting and baby is having a wiggle think it's telling me it's uncomfortable! Now going to lay down for the next couple of hours Grin

Glad you were able to change cuphat that must be a relief.
I've just given my work a list of appointment dates/times for the new year... Between seeing a haematologist, a consultant, my 16 week mw appt and my 20 week scan they weren't that impressed.... I know I'm entitled to time off for these things but can't help feeling guilty!

cuphat · 18/12/2014 11:35

Thanks chookford and emz.

Don't feel guilty Emz, there's nothing you can do.

My 16 week appt was like that, Tori. I was surprised mine didn't ask if I'd been well either. My next midwife appt is 28 weeks!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 18/12/2014 11:38

Cup great that you've managed to get your scan rearranged so your DH can be there, I really wouldn't want to go without my DH

Emz i had to have every other morning off work for nearly 2 weeks for my ivf. Luckily my work where good about it but I still felt really guilty. It can't be helped as you need to go to those appointments

Jazz I have had thrush a few times and I have also had some bloody discharge from it. I would still give your midwife a call to be on the safe side. Hope you are feeling better today. Sorry TMI alert- I can also sympathise with you on the haemarroid front. I've been taking progesterone suppositories which can be done vaginally or rectally. I have had to do them all rectally due to some cervical irritation from having my eggs collected. So after 12 weeks of them I am suffering a bit! I'll give that cream you mentioned a go, do you know if you can get it over the counter of if its prescription?

Would you mind adding me to the stats? I only have an iPad so not sure if I can do it on that plus I'm not sure where they are Blush

I'm 33, this is my first baby, EDD is 19th june, 12 week scan was on 9th dec, 16 week appointment is 15th jan, My 20 week scan is 2nd feb. I've not currently got a gender scan booked but I do want to find out if it's a boy or girl. We have no preference either way but I can't wait to find out Smile

I've forgotten who asked about the prescription exemption card, mine took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. I was thinking I would have to call and it arrived that day!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 18/12/2014 11:45

Tori did the midwife listen in to baby's heartbeat? My midwife said she would do that at the 16 week appointment. I went to have my booking bloods done last week and saw a different midwife. She didn't ask me how I was which didn't surprise me as it was just a quick appointment but when I looked in the notes she had written patient feeling well, no symptoms!! That peed me off a bit as she didn't ask me anything apart from my name

My midwife definitely used a doppler to hear the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment last time, will be interesting to see what happens this time.

I think it can cause unneccessary worry though because even experienced midwives can have trouble finding it - maybe that's why they changed it!

Called epu and they dont see you after 16 weeks, pregnancy unit at local hospital wont see me as i'm booked at one further away, managed to get an appointment with mw.. Just want her to listen in, if there no HB i can then go to a&e.
Seeing her at 1:30. I didnt think i's be thinking these thoughts ever again and i hope its just a scare but i have a bad feelingHmm....
Dont expect any replies from you, i will update again later... Just be thinking of us please x x x

croon979 · 18/12/2014 12:53

Hi all, I have just come back from my 16 week appointment. All went fine, I am low risk and they have no concerns. My blood pressure was apparently a bit borderline when they first checked it but on checking again, it was fine.

Midwives and doctor were all lovely, all asked how I had been several times. The midwife did put a doppler on me and found the heartbeat without too much effort, galloping away. Baby was very active apparently so we did have to chase it around a bit. Was amazing!

Glad everyone elses 16 week appointments have been fine.

Emz1989 · 18/12/2014 12:59

Just checking in on lunch break, thinking of you jazzy, try to keep positive if you can.

I have my 16/40 check on Friday so hoping to hear baby hb, then a private gender scan on Monday, really hoping dp can come along as it seems wrong to get that news on my own.
I'm finding it hard to sleep in my side, is anybody else suffering pain in lower hip and having to roll over several times through the night? I feel about 7 months pregnant, but am finding my big 'sock' style maternity jeans to be sooooo comfy, I'm living in them!

ots · 18/12/2014 13:49

Thinking of you Jazzy, hope everything is ok x

ots · 18/12/2014 13:51

Smug, I'm finding sleep uncomfortable too. I got a pregnancy pack of pillows from Argos last time I was pregnant, its a wedge pillow and a V pillow. I find they help quite a lot. Started to get quite bad leg cramps during the night, I didn't get that until much further on with DS.
