New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

hi, just been catching up on threads.and hapy to be able to help for once instead of moaning Cath- re coats I gave up-even ebay was crap- and bought a cape from m&s.. they come in black (unless u pay LOTS and are quite smart.
back to work- a at home this pm, but had a litle siesta

Rosybumpily · 07/11/2006 19:25

Harkthefox- I can't believe you are broody for number 4 before you've even had no.3 and you know you'll have another boy and then before you know it you'll be on no.5 and it'll be twins and you'll be leaving children behind in playgrounds like certain other people

The kids play up like mad when dh is around but he spoils them rotten and is a big soft walkover and dd has him wrapped around her finger!

I'm peeing 3 times a night. Its so boring but I'm up with my beasties anyway. Ooh wot I'd give for a full nights deep undisturbed sleep!

Kitty how do you manage to make costumes aswell as everything else! Also it occured to me to say that one of the times you were having a hard time on some thread, mr kittywits came on board and stuck up for you and at the time I thought that was so, so sweet.

Diva I'm excited for you about the house! And stop copying my birthdays! ds2 is 6th dec!

Laidback I used to live beside a brothel. My friend and I used to go in there in the middle of the night for my friend to buy cigarettes! The things I did when naive and young

Spongecake, the cape sounds good, doesn't m&s have yummy stuff nowadays! Can't wait til some of it ends up in the charity shops

kittywits · 07/11/2006 19:27

Diva, the new house sounds exciting
Finished the bloody costume,? Ha! I've got as far as buying 100 pairs of tights from tescos
Once i've got the tentacles sorted it should be easier,oh God. Ds2 wants to go as jack Sparrow, slightly less complicated but I have to think how to do the beard and hair. I'll look on ebay for stick on beards and wigs

harktheheraldfoxessing · 07/11/2006 20:07

WTF is happening with this website tonight? Its really slow and has wierd links all over the shop

divastrop · 07/11/2006 21:00

fox-i had that problem last night but it is fine tonight.

rosy-i bet we will both give birth on our birthdays

there are actually 2 sex shops on the street where the house is,one is a seedy, dirty old man type thats been ther since the 70's,the other is a newer one which has more of an ann summers air about it.i havent been in such establishments since i was 14 and often used to go to the west end with my sister.her boss had asked her to get him a cat o' 9 tails while she was up london

fox-you dont want 4!once you get past 3 you forget to stop!!

kittywits · 07/11/2006 22:36

Fox when I had three I still had the energy to go out, once no.4 came along it all went tits up

Rosy, dp can be supportive in many, many ways, it's true, there's some pretty crucial stuff missing though

Well, I have cut up the tights, stuffed them and sewn them up and now I have lots of very suspect looking sausage shaped 'things'. I know `diva, I could see if any of the sex shops opposite you would like to buy some

Rosybumpily · 08/11/2006 08:09

Hi everyone, notice in other subjects that Piffle is in hospital for her appendix

kittywits · 08/11/2006 08:27

Oh dear, hope she's ok

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 08:56

Eva - how about Oscar? I lurve that name Like the little boy in "The Tin Drum".

Rosy - you do make me laugh!! After reading your post last night I had a nightmare that I sent DD 3 to school on her own across London on the bus

Kitty - are all your tentacles American Tan colour?

Diva - so pleased you like the house. Just think of all that extra space with 4 beds....Just think how the old sex life might perk up, with all those great stores nearby!! Whenever you mention in future "oh, we got a DVD out last night and stayed in" we'll all be terribly suspicious as to what kind of films you are watching! I quite like Ann Summers actually. If I wasn't so old and fat I'd deffo get some more appealing undies.

Sponge - my friend has bought a huge shawl which she kind of drapes around her shoulders and bump. She says its really warm.

Rainbow - I love your new name. Appeals to the hippy chick in me

Piffle - you poor thing being admitted to hospital, hope you recover quickly. What a worry for you

Rosybumpily · 08/11/2006 10:07

Oops Fox sorry for triggering your nightmares!
I absolutely love Oscar too, call him that Eva go on, go on!

Rainbowgirl is a great and jolly name too! Just what you need, well done. You will be living up to your name before you know it. (extending hippy positive vibes)

Kitty I hope your marriage problems are ultimately solvable. Things can often really turn around and change in relationships.

I am totally spaced out today with continuous lack of sleep. I'm going mad with it.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 10:12

2 votes for Oscar then !

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 10:12

Am going to post some Aboriginal boys names on here at some point and ask you all to vote

Jayglebellsjayglebellsjaygleal · 08/11/2006 10:25

Foxy, yes they are currently American Tan, lovely, soon to be dyed green though That bot in the Tin Drun was REALLY creepy (ugh)
Quite like oscar though, I don't associate it with him

Rosy- I hope so too

since my mother has bad mouthed my name choice i;m def sticking with it now,it's his name now and that is that, couldn't imagine anything else. I talk to him using his name.
Just been on the phone to my lovely, lovely doula, she's coming round for a visit on friday, horray
Right off to wrestle with the tentacles now, speak later xx

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 12:00

Visualise this wrestling match:

Eight Armed American Tan Nylon Tenatacles creature versus the Fat Maggot !!!!!

PMSL!

Jay - I love your new name. Get better soon won't you?

I like that boy in the Tin Drum. DS is a bit like him sometimes although its DD who can do the high pitched sfreaming!

Anyone remember those old films, like Village of the Damned, with all those creepy blonde children in?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 12:00

screaming, not sfeaming

Eva1977 · 08/11/2006 12:40

Hello! An earlier than usual post rom me today - had a nightmarish day at work and was sent home. Started off with v v v bad heartburn, couldnt even think. Stomach cramps as well - but not where baby is, just above it. Gaviscon would not help.

Then was on break duty and 4 girls started beating the s... out of each other. One other teacher on duty who just stood there and shouted "stop it", so I had to intervene. Got knocked on the floor, thankfully just on my knees. Was v shaken up anyway, went back to the office and couldn't stop crying. Felt very silly as it's nothing I'd normally cry over.

Anyway, was sent home and went to the doctor's on the way as bump was feeling unusually hard. Doctor listened, heartbeat was fine and baby kicked to confirm he was all well

What a day - but what am I suposed to do when there's kids fighting??? PG or not, I have to try and break them up if no one else is around?!

Anyway, on a happier note: I looove Oscar too. Unfortunately our dog is called Oscar. Too late to give him a new name now .

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 12:45

Eva - you poor thing. What a horrible experience. I hope the school give those kids a good talking too about getting so out of hand they knocked a PG teacher over!!!

I'f you'd knocked them over, they'd probably sue!

How old are the kids (primary or secondary?)

You should lie down and rest for the rest of the day and be reassured by those little kicks.

Eva1977 · 08/11/2006 12:51

thanks!
they are Year 11 secondary school kids! and too right, if I only touched them, they'r threaten to sue! They are v good at knowing their rights, but no idea about their responsibilities!

The girls should really be suspended, just for fighting in the way they did - but knowing management, they will just get told off...

Anyway, will take dog for walk now and then spend afternoon in bed!

kittywits · 08/11/2006 13:17

Can't you sue them for knocking you over?
surely it must cut both ways? You can't get involved in physical stuff whilst preg.it's more imporatnt that you and your baby stay safe than them killing each other.

Rosybumpily · 08/11/2006 13:25

Thats terrible Eva! At least you and bump are ok and you can relax now with oscar the dog!

I wondered why we hadn't heard from you Jayglebells you poor thing. Hope you are better soon.

Booboobedoo · 08/11/2006 15:04

Hello!

DH is off work today, and having a bonfire in the garden, then attempting to put up a shed. Very cosy.

Piffle: hope you're ok.

Eva: was horrified at your story. I must admit that (as a teacher) I watched Brat Camp with some satisfaction when they physically restrained two teenage girls who were trying to run away in the middle of the desert. The girls were outraged: they couldn't believe anyone would dare to touch them. The no-touching thing in schools is just ridiculous. If it works both ways then fine, but it doesn't, and I've felt in physical danger in the past. Hope you're feeling calmer now.

Was awake as I've got a nasty little sore-patch in an unmentionable area, and I can't use antihistamines to get rid of it. Slept like a log last night though!

Diva good luck with your move. Sounds like a handy place to live...

Scan tomorrow at 9am. Can't wait!

EDD 3/3
23+3

harktheheraldfoxessing · 08/11/2006 15:22

Booboo/Eva - DS was really ill for a year with ear, nose and throat stuff and I am eternally grateful that his classroom assistant was willing to sit for hours with him on her lap! totally against the rules me thinks, but he really needed that physical contact (aka cuddles )

Booboobedoo · 08/11/2006 15:24

Hi Fox. The kids I teach now range between 3 and 16, and the little ones always get a cuddle if they hurt themselves or are upset.

I make sure I'm in a room with the other kids and another adult to cover myself, but think it's plain wrong not to touch children. They thrive on physical contact.

Eva1977 · 08/11/2006 15:43

Boo and Fox, I totally agree - why should you not cuddle a child if he/she was crying? But I am still new to teaching (2nd year) and in PGCE was made paranoid about the amount of teachers being sued for "sexual harrassment".

ANother thing that really annoys me is students complaining to senior staff if you e.g. told one to "shut up". But themselves they are forever using swearwords in the classroom...

At the moment I am not sure if I will return to the classroom after the baby. Might just do home tutoring or even try and get into university teaching instead. Got I think 28 days left and counting

Feeling better now, through heartburn is still bad. Glad I have got the dog to keep me company while dh is away! Dh also told me off for intervening and was made to promise never to get involved again!
