Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 17th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 33rd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

min I still vite for the codliver oil Grin

dulcet I think I'd stick with 2nd if its still fine for tests. you can enjoy Christmas and then stress about the scan on NY day! then afterwards tell everyone your NY resolution is to have a baby!

hi to everyone else. struggling to keep up as quite busy this week. had my stabby demo today and got all my drugs etc. 11 pills left and its now starting to seem so much more real! really need to get back on my diet. been bad since Friday. also not drinking enough water again.

Indigoblue2 · 17/12/2014 02:21

Woke up sweating with cramps and very dizzy. Feel normal again now but waiting to hear back from EPU, might be ectopic or mc, think they want me to go in.

Indigoblue2 · 17/12/2014 02:21

No bleeding though.

Minion · 17/12/2014 02:34

Oh indigo I hope you are ok, if it helps I had this a few times in the first tri, turns out it was dehydration and needing some questionable poohs.
Hope it's that for you too xx

Nessalina · 17/12/2014 03:34

You're up late Min... Is she stirring??

We've just been to the emergency GP Confused J started with eczema this week, and today it's gone nuclear! His neck is all scabby and weepy and he wouldn't settle - turns out it's infected! Ugh. And he's still not asleep... He keeps getting nearly there then hitting himself in the face by accident Shock

Indigoblue2 · 17/12/2014 03:50

In EPU! Was an hours drive away Shock

willywallace · 17/12/2014 04:14

Hope all is ok Indigo, how scary for you.

Poor J Ness, that sounds nasty. You must be shattered too. Is there anyone who can give you a hand?

willywallace · 17/12/2014 04:15

Lil drink some water!!

Indigoblue2 · 17/12/2014 04:37

Just had an internal and saw the little black dot and yolk sack. Measuring 5+6 which is spot on and all looking ok for dates! Thank fuck. Booked on for follow up in 2 weeks. Sooo scary, I felt so ill and dizzy with the cramps. Not out the woods but senior doctor says no bleeding is promising along with scan pics relief

willywallace · 17/12/2014 04:52

Is your blood pressure ok? Great news Thanks

Leela5 · 17/12/2014 05:01

Glad you're ok indigo. Was it blood pressure? I get low bp if I get panic/shock and it makes me very dizzy

Good to have seen yolk sac, hooray!

I've got private scan today. Feeling positive but a few nerves. Definitely feel pregnant and look it too - got asked yesterday when I'm due and when I said July she was shocked!

Dulcet my scan is 7th jan and I'll be 13+ weeks too. Think they are crammed over Christmas. Have you had flu jab yet?

Feel sick, can't sleep, am happily pumping away in the direction of dh. See how he likes it for a change!

Leela5 · 17/12/2014 05:02

Ps indigo the stretchy cramps can be very disconcerting especially at night. The more water you drink the less noticeable they are

Minion · 17/12/2014 07:13

ness, nah it was a toilet break wake. She doesn't stir at night, hoping she keeps going like that, how's little J? Have they given you some stuff for him. Poor wee man. Hope he's cleared up soon.
Great news indigo, how lovely seeing the little scam such a relief eh. Deffo with the water tho, it makes things less 'stretchy/achey)

DulcetMoans · 17/12/2014 07:16

Oh indigo, how scary! Pleased they got you in right away though, sounds like quite a good service. Did you see a little heart beat or is it a bit early?

lil, drink some bloody water!

That's for advice in scan, think you're right and will just wait it out. At least it's a date DH will already be off and is before one of our friends 30th birthday party so could be honest then about not drinking. If it's all ok of course...

Good luck today la. Sure you're crapping yourself in one way but hopefully the reassurance you need!

Sorry about the eczema ness, sounds horrible. Poor thing. Does he try to scratch when he's hitting himself in the face?

willywallace · 17/12/2014 07:31

Good luck La!

Hope today is the day for you Min.

Totally shattered here after terrible sleep. Glad I have to hand this sample in as got extra hour in bed at least.

laurenamium · 17/12/2014 07:33

Good luck today la!

How scary for you indigo! I hope you're okay!

I haven't been paid by one of the big colleges Angry so now I'm stewing waiting for finance to open so I can passive aggressively chase the invoice Hmm

minimooo · 17/12/2014 08:13

Morning viroids! I've been AWOL all week because I've had a nasty cold/cough but it's almost gone now. Just caught up on thread...

indigo how scary! Glad you got a scan and reassurance. Hope you've got the day off today to catch up on missed sleep

min hope things get moving for you today

la good luck for the scan. I'm sure everything will be fine, but I can totally sympathise with the worry/nerves

Sorry about J's eczema ness, sounds miserable for him. Hope they gave you some cream/ointment to put on it.

Nesting has hit full force in chez minimooo the last few days! I have cleared out loads of stuff for the charity shop, mostly cleared the room that will become the nursery and have pretty much chosen the paint colours. Today's mission is to go through all of my clothes and charity shop everything I don't wear anymore (which should be a fair amount seeing as I don't work in an office anymore). Good progress, but feel like there's a mountain of stuff to do yet!

Minion · 17/12/2014 08:17

Lightbulb moment!
How the frig did I not know you could flip the thread and have the latest post at the top? So I've been waiting for ages whilst ipad tries to catch up and could have done this all along?
Fuuuckkk. I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes it's scary.
Anywhooo..

Has anyone caught up on the christmas list post lately? It's no wonder some people are in the mess they are in. One list has an ipad for one kid, a laptop for 2nd and another laptop for the third. I hope she hasn't got herself into debt because of it.
I thought big presents like that were for 'the family'?
Am I naive? Is this the new done thing?
Cripes.

Another has bought her two a 32 inch tv between them. Now, I may be being a bit Victorian here, but, a 32 incher? Presumably for their bedroom? I've always said mine will not have a tv in their room. My niece does and we see hide nor hair of her when we visit.. Unless she's forcibly ejected to be polite.

Sorry. Call this the rankings of a sore thighed , hormonal, overdue by a week, on the edge, upduffed viroid.

Leela5 · 17/12/2014 08:36

Min I'm in complete agreement! We had one computer for the family, no way do kids need a bloody laptop each!

And traditionally a big present would either be for everyone to share or if it's a bike you'd get that and nothing else. I truly cannot understand these people, those children are growing up to be completely spoiled and under the illusion that you get what you want in life.

As for TV/DVD player in room - not a chance! My kids will either join the family or if by any miracle we have enough money to buy a house someday with a den then they might be allowed one in there for playing computer games but only by permission. I get so angry looking at those lists! The poor kids who Santa can't afford more than a few small gifts for - it's such a shame. I don't get the Christmas Eve extra gift thing also. Some families have tradition of one gift on Christmas Eve which is fine but these parents talk about it as extra rather than choosing one from the pile.

I missed loads on here yesterday as I was at a symposium. Will catch up later

Minion · 17/12/2014 08:45

It's just so weird isn't it la?
One post I'm reading about people donating to foodbanks, the. About how they have 2 kids and only have 50 more presents to wrap.
MN can be a weird old place sometimes.

One poster, who I've clocked, has previously moaned at someone for daring to ask where she might like to go on holiday this year, with a 5k budget. Then she's posting about all manner of plastic crap she's filling her house with.

I find it mind boggling really. It's probably mind boggling to them, why I actually care what they buy, too. But I really really do. I can't help but get invested in the topic. It's a proper eye opener that one.

laurenamium · 17/12/2014 08:46

Ah mini I always look for your posts with us being due so close together! I'm also nesting like crazy, I thought I had gone mad and that it was too soon but if you are too I will make it a legitimate thing Grin

Leela5 · 17/12/2014 08:59

I just think - and I sound like a dinosaur here - that we are breeding children who think they can have whatever they want. They then become adults who are disillusioned when they realise they can have whatever they want.

I heard some girl being interviewed on radio about not being able to find a job after uni. She was asked what she wanted to do and she said 'PR'. When asked what she studied she said 'history'. Now toe that's the very nature of the problem. Folk are not willing to put in the frigging thought and effort to actually achieve a goal, she truly believed that just because she wanted to do pr then someone should just give her the job.

Meanwhile I've got 3 degrees - why? Because each degree took me closer to where I wanted to get, but wasn't quite there. So I kept improving my skills - meanwhile racking up 1000s I'm debt - but I got there and now do the job I wanted. I get people all the time contacting me saying 'how do I get to do your job?' I say you need to study and get loads of experience and they look at me horrified because they thought you can just walk in with a BSc or a year spent working in a Cattery. Even zoo keeping now (which I used to do before) the majority will have at least a BSc if not an MSc. it's competitive.

They are all then depressed at 25 wondering why they don't have dream job/house because someone somewhere told them that they can have whatever they want in life. No wonder the world lives on prozac.

Ooooh I get so annoyed.

Sorry everyone, that was a classic La rant! Grin

Hope everyone has a nice day, c'mon Robyn!

Hope J is ok xxx

Pisghetti · 17/12/2014 09:08

Glad you had some reassurance Indigo and good luck today La look forward to hearing how it went.

DS doesn't have a TV in his room. Neither do I. He does have a netbook and an iPad but his dad and I are not responsible for those! He was the first grandchild on both sides and got a bit spoilt but now he's got competition from cousins it is slowing down a bit. I had a television in my bedroom. Well the bedroom I shared with my brother. It was black and white with a knob for changing channels (you had to 'tune in' each one) which we were given to play our spectrum games on!

I am lucky enough to have a house with an extra reception room that I don't know what to do with. DS' dad is replacing his xbox 360 with an xbox one so DS will probably get the old one and so I might set the room up as a den so he has somewhere to 'get away' from the baby stuff when he wants to. I certainly won't be setting it up in his bedroom.

The Christmas post infuriated me so I stopped reading. Kids get so overwhelmed at Christmas as it is. They really do start just going through the motions after the first couple of presents!

Hahaha Min I only recently found that function too! I use safari to access mumsnet on the iPad though - find the navigation much easier than through the app.

minimooo · 17/12/2014 09:12

I do the same lauren! So nice to have someone due the same time Smile
I'm presuming it's nesting...it's either that or a personality alteration of some kind - I'm not usually fussed about decorating etc (and definitely never ever get rid of anything - I'm a self-confessed hoarder!) Grin

Pisghetti · 17/12/2014 09:19

That's a good point La. Although both DS' dad and I have decent jobs and are far from the breadline, DS doesn't get everything he wants. He is a clever bean and gets top marks in most things. He'll usually get a treat of some sort (like a £30 lego set) when he brings home a good report at the end of the year while his friends get presents like Macbooks Shock for doing the same. He understands the value of 'things' and knows that his dad and I had to work hard to get where we are and he will have to do the same.

One thing he lacks (and I wonder if it is a genetic thing as my brother does too!) is a sense of responsibility for his life and the importance of his decisions. Anything bad that happens gets blamed on someone else, any punishment he receives is the fault of the giver. It does worry me a bit because I think without that sense of ownership of his life he may never galvanise himself into action to get where he wants. I'll keep working on it though!
