Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

Thanks Purple yes I was unsure whether NCT would be included under the time allowed off for ante natal care. I have heard lots of good things about NCT, like you say having support network that live nearby, so may be worth forking out then :) I am new to the area where I live and I don't know anyone other than next door neighbours so would be good to meet some young people having babies like me! Grin

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 11:15

zampa that sounds amazing! Will have to look it up

Sarkymare · 29/11/2014 11:33

Morning all

I'm feeling a bit down today, a cross between nerves about my scan tomorrow and the fact I had to see my mother this morning. I haven't seen her in over six months. She opened the door and instead of a hello I just got Insult after insult about my hair and how disgustingly awful it looks. She spent the next half and hour talking about how much money she has, how much better than everyone else she is and didn't so much as say hello to her grandson. She ignored him the whole time.

I don't know why I bloody bother with her!

GingerbreadHead · 29/11/2014 11:34

Err feel so ill this morning. Had to be in work for 7 this morning and had very little sleep last night. Wish i could just be sick and then feel better! Pip i am also absolutely terrified of losing this baby,I feel constantly anxious. It took me almost 18 months to get pregnant, which i know is no where near as long as some, but i cant imagine having to go through that again to get pg again. I guess like the others have said there is nothing we can do about it except hope and wait that it will all be ok. I dont think ill be going for an early scan,so just need to get through the next 6 weeks.... Sorry on phone so forgot who mentioned NCT classes, not sure what to do either,i already have a daughter so should know what im doing really! But it would be nice to meet other ladies due the same time. How much are the NCT ones? What weeks of pg do they run in?

Thepurplegiraffe · 29/11/2014 11:41

Just been properly sick for the first time. I am quite impressed that I made it to 7 +5. Last successful pregnancy it was much earlier.
Ginger my friend did a postnatal one last time that she said was good for meeting people. Some people on that were on their second child so I might try that.

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 11:48

ginger depending where you live they range from £120-£190 for 12 hours. The one I was looking at started at 33 weeks for me and it was for late July to mid august babies

Threeplus1 · 29/11/2014 12:57

Welcome missmorse I'm also an expat but living in Canada. This is my 4th dc and I am already noticing the differences in care - most positive but some disappointing (like no routine 1st trimester scan unless you go for chromosomal testing). At least we have OHIP here though, and maternity care is free even if you don't. How are you finding the US system? Where are you if you don't mind me asking?

sdyer · 29/11/2014 13:53

Thank you for adding the stats. That's terrible Sarkymare is tell her to get lost if that was me x

misseskimo · 29/11/2014 14:59

Hey ladies, gosh it's hard to keep up with these threads! Lol. Had my Dr apt. Today, no signs of infection anymore which is positive, and he thinks everything seems to be going ok, but still wants me to have scan Monday. He said I need to relax a bit, as he felt I was very visibly nervous, and as a result my BP was quite high (for me). Been prescribed haemorrhoids cream, fybogel and inhalers. He seems to think its my asthma playing up, and where I'm coughing its causing any old blood which would normally come out over the course of first trimester to dislodge all at once... Not the diagnosis I was expecting but a better one! Still not relieved me as much as I hoped it would, DH is now feeling much happier about everything but I can't seem to tbh Hmm

sarky how you feeling today? Guessing your in the same boat nervous about tomorrow? Thanks

Oh sarky just seen your post sorry! Must have missed in first skim. Can't believe your mother has treated you like that! I'd tell her where to go if it were me then blame it on the hormones I'd say try not to worry about tomorrow but I know exactly how you feel and know that isn't going to happen, so best advice I can give is to try and distact yourself so its not permanently on your mind. I found xmas shopping and watching films has helped me block it out a bit

sarky Sad

I just survived a birthday party where all parents were standing up [busy location so no chairs avavailable] for 2 hours. I'm shattered and starving! And my back hurts. DH is working long hours today bloody rugby so I'm solo parenting. Thankfully DS is very good today and busy doing his homework while I'm on MN resting

StoneBaby · 29/11/2014 15:14

Just updated the stats. Thanks

catbus · 29/11/2014 15:15

Oo I didn't keep up very well! Nice to see a shiny new thread and lots of new people!
I managed to wangle an early scan, earlier in the week- relieved to see all was ok. Am now 7+5.
Hopefully I might be able to keep up with you all, kids and shenanigans and moving permitted Smile

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 15:35

Having been concerned about lacking symptoms previously, I'm on 2nd day now of feeling constantly nauseous. It's making up for lost time. Ugggg

Congrats to the people who've seen baby on scan :). I'm equally excited and terrified for mine on wed.

I'm craving tomato juice. Apparently my mum did too!

Fleurchamp · 29/11/2014 15:59

I am laying in a darkened room feeling sorry for myself. It's like a bad hangover without the fun the night before.

Going out for dinner tonight with friends, that will be interesting Hmm

Lewaney3 · 29/11/2014 16:10

Marking my place on the new thread...fab name.

I'm now suffering from constant nausea at night...had to sleep with 3 pillows. My whole body aches and feels so tired. I miss the stomach cramps now as it was better than this. :(

I'll try to keep updated with the thread...right now I feel like staying in my blacked out bedroom for the next 7 months. First midwife appt mid december.

Lovely to hear of all the scans and happy mummy's to be.

Lewaney3 · 29/11/2014 16:17

Also the stats link...I've opened it on ipad but I'm unable to edit. If anyone could direct me on that?

I'm 24 recently moved to watford and will be dc1 on 29 July.

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 16:19

Fleur we are like symptom twins. That's exactly how I'd describe this.

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 16:34

lewaney joining me and sarky in the early 20s club :)

Number3cometome · 29/11/2014 16:35

fleur and Leela you sound how I feel!

Yesterday was a tomato juice day and I am addicted to tin tomatoes?
Randomly I love the metallic taste.

Currently at a footy match, I'm actually enjoying the cold as I feel like the fresh air helps?

7 weeks exactly!

Essex, 33 years young x

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 16:44

I've ordered tomato juice from tesco plus canned tomatoes, vine tomatoes and dolmio Grin

Weirdly just ate gingerbread and nausea gone. Try it!

Threeplus1 · 29/11/2014 16:44

I went to bed at 7:30 last night and slept through until 8am apart from sleepwalking to the loo a few times dh, bless him, has made me toast then cleaned up the kitchen and is now off to GAP to buy me a cardigan I liked, and to exchange a bag I bought for the one I really wanted. He's then going to take dd1 to gymnastics and dd2 to the park. Meanwhile I'm sat on the couch watching Saturday kitchen on the proxy, surfing MN and reading a new thriller Blush

Does anyone find stretchy pains and back pain gets worse the more you do? I had to do long journey today and now my womb is really sore and my back is stabby

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 17:29

leela yes, did loads of hoovering today and stretchy cramps were worse afterwards

Sarkymare · 29/11/2014 17:31

Miss, that's mild compared to how she has treated me in the past. Lets just say I was homeless aged 15 and not by choice either.

I've been to see my SIL this evening. She had a lot of regular bleeding when she was pregnant with my niece so I told her the situation and she reassured me quite a bit.

I've only had a wee about 5 times since Thursday. I think I'm subconsciously not wanting to know how much I'm bleeding. Ignorance is bliss and all that.
