Hoping the stats link works...

Our parents all know, as were childcare during ivfs. Not sure if theyve told wider family, hoping not as i wouldnt announce till after 12wk scan.

Still another week till booking in. Thyroid blood test today, hoping its not gone up too much.

Will i be offered flu jab by mw?

StoneBaby · 28/11/2014 20:18

miss thanks for the new thread. I can believe the 2nd one got full so quickly!!

touch I like your style Wink

Well I had a complete meltdown earlier as DS wanted to go to his swimming lesson and I was feeling so low/rough. I bursted in tears, he followed and I had to explain to him that I wasn't sad but that the baby in my tommy was making me do silly things. He understood this, said 'silly baby, I still love him' and gave me a big hug. I then had to refrain more tears as it was so cute

Despites been told I'll have an early scan, I still haven't heard anything about it so I guess it may not happen...

Have a good Friday evening Smile

naty1 · 28/11/2014 20:18

mister i would ask gp for the mw phone no. As anyway not having been booked in you may want it for any q's

TouchPauseEngage · 28/11/2014 20:19

Naty mine told me to contact GP surgery and if they couldn't do before scan it would be done then.

mister it does seem a bit late but every place works differently. I'd chase on Monday. Can you call MW team direct?

Sarkymare · 28/11/2014 20:20

Ooh I love a bit of bowel chat!

My MW said she thinks I may have IBS. I always though that IBS was more diarrhoea then constipation. But apparently my symptoms of going sometimes a week or more days without having a poo and then spending two days with the trots, matches IBS pretty well.

This has been happening way before pregnancy. But now it's worse I haven't had a poo for a week and a half now. Might explain the bloat bump..

Funny story... During my last pregnancy I was really dehydrated due to sickness so my poos were like bricks. I was so constipated that it got right to cusp and no further! It hurt to sit down the works. My midwife told me to get a glove or a piece of tissue and PULL IT OUT. I don't think I had ever laughed so much in my life!! MW wasn't impressed that I Spent 5 mins on the phone in fits of laughter.

broodylicious · 28/11/2014 20:30

sarky, lol lol lol!!! GrinGrinGrin

I'm so glad I raised the pooing thing now - not only has it reassured me that it clearly is normal, I feel we have got to know each other a little bit better tonight!WinkGrin

dust, hmmm it is tricky. I'd say to make up an excuse for you to stay at home chill out and watch crap tv to avoid a question time type scenario that only MILs can instigate. However, if your dh is anything like mine, he'd not be happy with being left flying solo and would insist on coming. Why not put your heads together and come up with some possible responses to her questioning in advance?

TouchPauseEngage · 28/11/2014 20:52

Oh god sarky that has reminded me of a story DM loves to tell of my dad having to pull it out for her when pregnant with me . The fact they are very very divorced now makes this even worse!
Poor DH has had A shitty day at work and this is the sort of evening when we'd drink a bottle of wine each and listen to music and unwind. Instead I'm in bed and he's downstairs on his own Sad

Sarkymare · 28/11/2014 21:01

HA! That's brilliant! My DP loves me but not that much! The best he could do was joke that if I scooted my backside across the floor like a dog, I could write my name... Fucker!

LizziTea · 28/11/2014 21:03

On another topic, I think I'm experiencing my first food cravings. Yesterday I remembered how much I like poppadoms with mango chutney, so added some to the online delivery order. Apparently I didn't quite think the order through, as I ordered 'black pepper' ones which are incredibly spicy and such a strong flavour it's really difficult to eat them. However, they arrived today and I was so desperate for poppadoms that I ate my way through three of them anyway. (Even braving the mild nausea…) Unsatisfied because they tasted so disgusting, spent about 50 minutes browsing the web for inexpensive poppadoms of the plain variety. (I reckoned I'd need a lot so should find a good deal!) Didn't find any of a suitable price, so decided to send husband round some of the local shops tomorrow. Felt very cheated of my snack, so finally worked out I could eat the mango chutney on its own. Feeling happier now!

Leela5 · 28/11/2014 21:10

I haven't pooed since tues. I wish I could pull it out!!!

Sarkymare · 28/11/2014 21:42

Leela

Sorry for the personal question but how far down do you think the poo is? If it is in your rectum then besides digging It out there is not a lot you can do. But if it hasn't got that far yet then pure orange juice, chocolate or coffee could help get things moving.

At least this is what MW said before she advised me to grab a glove and tug.

Leela5 · 28/11/2014 21:46

Believe me I've had a root about and no chance :(. (Sorry - tmi)

I think it was coz of travelling up to see my mum, I forgot to keep drinking water and got dehydrated so it's just stuck! Lesson there ladies - keep drinking water!

I've had two lots of the laxative and things feel like they're moving. I hope my baby's birth isn't as slow as this...

Overtiredbackagain · 28/11/2014 21:52

Evening ladies, just catching up!

Thanks for new thread Miss!

GingerbreadHead · 28/11/2014 21:57

Was hoping to squeeze a message onto the last thread but didn't quite make it!
Thanks for the new thread miss, will head on over and add my stats in a mo. How are you feeling today? Have been managing to keep up with you all but not much time to post, have been thinking of you ladies with worries and hoping you are ok Smile

I am loving all this poo chat!! I have been so constipated, it's just horrid isn't it! The nausea and weird taste and mood swings I can deal with, but I would really like to do a poo now!!! Thanks for the info about laxatives, might have to grab some! It doesn't make it go too far the other way does it though!?!

I have always suffered with IBS on and off, sorry to say that pg does seem to make it worse. Hard when you have to give in to your food cravings when it might not be the best thing for you normally. had 3 slices of toast and butter after a very healthy noodle stir fry for dinner!!

Well, we told my parents last wednesday, they were over the moon as they knew how long we had been trying, and are going to tell DHs parents on Sunday when we next see them, might wait till a bit closer to Christmas until we tell the rest of the family though. We wanted to get DD to announce to them she has a secret; that she is going to be a big sister, but she wouldn't play along, best laid plans and all that! Ended up drawing a picture on behalf of DD of 'my family' with a little baby with a ? above it's head, left my parents a bit puzzled for a few minutes!!!

Booking in appointment on wednesday, very excited! Have had a bit of a nightmare trying to get time off work for it though, I'm going to have to work another half day at some point, and just work the morning on wednesday. I know I'm entitled to time off for appts but I only work 3 days a week so don't want to take the piss too much!

lizzi lol at the great poppadom hunt!! I have been craving fruit pastilles Hmm but trying not to go overboard with my sugar intake....been thinking about them for 3 days now though.....

GingerbreadHead · 28/11/2014 21:58

Leela you are cracking me up!!!! Just think, it's just good practice for labour Wink You must have seen OBEM where they love to say push like you are just trying to do a big poo!!

Sarkymare · 28/11/2014 22:07

Had a good root around!! LOL! That made me snort

I really feel like we have all entered a whole new stage of our relationship Wink

sdyer · 28/11/2014 22:16

Hi girls and new thread! smallgreenbanana we have same due date and I'm having same symptoms with smells and pains. It's all normal I'm sure. If I'm doubling over in pain is be worried.
Also been fArty and constipated too. Deep breathing helps me and coughing on the loo aswell.
I've been blaming the wind on the dog lol x

BadIdeaBear · 28/11/2014 22:25

hehehe the tone of this thread has taken a dive towards the gutter, hasn't it?!! I'm at the looser end of the pooing camp and am going much more often than pre pg but it's the farting that's ridiculous and the associated build up. I can't lie on my back for long. And it's particularly galling cos I normally spend my time having a go at my DH and DSCs about their loud bodily functions! tbh tho mine are pretty quiet and stealthy...

sarky I've updated the stats with your details. Remind me which DC you're pg with and I'll update that column for you too.

Randomly had a little cry on my walk home from work tonight. Glad it was dark. No idea why... maybe still feeling weird after seeing the heartbeat this morning.

Threeplus1 · 28/11/2014 22:33

Marking my place Smile

Sarkymare · 28/11/2014 22:45

Pipbin · 28/11/2014 23:39

Just noticed as I was getting undressed - sudden boob veins!

misseskimo · 28/11/2014 23:51

Geh can't sleep, how can I be exhausted one min then as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake?! I'm guessing it's a combination of nerves for tomorrow plus I suddenly feel really hungry! Don't want to go eating now though or I'll definitely be up all night!! Sad

Ginger I'm ok thanks, plodding along! Though the nausea today is really taking a nose dive into awfulness! GP tomorrow, see what they say. Fx! I love your idea about DD telling her secret, shame she didn't cooperate though but still a lovely gesture!

I still haven't told anyone yet, bar mine and DH bosses and the beauty therapist! I keep really wanting to tell someone, especially as I've seen almost all of mine and DH immediate family this last week, which is really rare! And seeing DH family this weekend also, plus my sister who I only see like twice a year is down... But I just can't bring myself to tell anyone. I think people might start guessing soon though as I've been using the "I've been unwell, currently on antibiotics" line for 3 weeks now lol

Opposite for us Miss, everyone knows.

missmorse · 29/11/2014 02:15

Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining in this club! :) I'm about 9 weeks, due early July and this is our first. I'm an expat living in the US, and I'm really, really missing the NHS right now and wishing I were closer to my family.

I've nothing to add to the poo conversation I'm afraid...! For the first month or so I either had nausea or a splitting headache/migraine everyday, which was not pleasant. But then I was hit with probably the worst, most revolting cold I've ever had, and that was two weeks of misery. (I'm usually someone who never gets sick, so this was super unusual for me and of course worse because I couldn't take anything for it.) I've finally got over it now, but oddly since that cold cleared up I've had no headaches or nausea at all. Weird.

I was due to have my first doctor's appointment today but on Wednesday they called to reschedule us for the second week of dec, by which point I'll be 11 weeks. I was a bit sad about that because we haven't seen or spoken to a midwife or anyone yet, and I have a lot of questions. Luckily there is still this site, and I've been learning so much from reading here! I'm glad to have found this thread today too, because I've been feeling a bit lonely without people to talk to in real life, so to speak (we haven't told anyone yet).
