Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

Ace news fatty Smile

fattycow · 11/12/2014 20:17

Indeed! Now I'm very tired... Waiting for DH to come home and then I'm off to bed.

StoneBaby · 11/12/2014 20:28

Great news fatty

Naturegirl82 · 11/12/2014 20:31

I've just struggled through my last netball match, no more till after Christmas now when I'll hopefully be too pregnant to play.

I didn't find the whopping cough jab bad at all, or the flu jab but people react differently.

Pipbin · 11/12/2014 20:32

Good news Fatty.

Number3cometome · 11/12/2014 20:36

Excellent Fatty !

fattycow · 11/12/2014 20:41

I'm so in love with this little one already...

lightgreenglass · 11/12/2014 21:22

Congrats fatty! I remember that feeling with DS - couldn't quite feel it at the early scans as they don't look like anything!

We found out with DS, didn't plan to but circumstances changed and I wanted my mom to go knowing that she had a grandson and we will find out for this one as feels right - as for names we told my mom DS name and she thought I was joking and told the whole family! It's funny looking back on it. I've picked names already and only close family will know.

lightgreenglass · 11/12/2014 21:23

Of course by I, I mean we!

WiIdfire · 11/12/2014 22:06

Re: the flu jab, the midwives might not have been fussed about the Swine flu epidemic, but you certainly should have been! Im shocked at their lack of information. During the swine flu outbreak, Intensive care units were full of pregnant women on ventilators and there was a national shortage of ECMO machines due to the number of severely affected pregnant women. They (we?) are a very high risk group for swine flu - all medical professionals knew that, so how your midwives didn't is beyond me. I'm flabbergasted.

WiIdfire · 11/12/2014 22:12

By the way, the H1N1 strain (swine flu) is included in this years vaccine as it is still around. If you look at the NHS choices website you will see that pregnant women are listed as one of the higher risk groups for flu. If you chose not to have the vaccine, thats fine, but please do a bit of basic research first.

Great news fatty bet that was such a weight lifted off your shoulders!

Inc. Tomorrow (I've already told boss I won't be in) I've now had a week off work and am totally fed up. Constantly feeling nauseous, which ranges from a little bit to making me so dizzy I feel like I'm going to faint. This evening my stomach cramps have also come back, and the combination of the two is making me even more nauseous. And to top it off, my sciatica in my left leg and lower back are so painful I can currently only sit/lay at a really cacky right side angle which I'm pretty sure is why the cramps are back as mw told me to try and lay on my left side as much as possible as it apparently reduces pressure on intestines etc. Sad

Sorry for rant there, but a week in bed and feeling worse rather than better at the end of it, is really starting to bring me down.

misseskimo Much sympathy for you! I was in a similar position last week. By the end of the week of lying on the bed or the sofa I was thoroughly fed up and in pain from SPD-type thing. The pills the doctor gave me started to work a bit though so I went back to work for half a day just to see people and feel like a human being again (even though everyone said I looked ill). Finally started to feel better yesterday! Hang in there... Xmas Smile

Hugs miss Thanks

Overtiredbackagain · 12/12/2014 08:28

Morning all! Friday!!

Nearly at end of our third thread!

Number3cometome · 12/12/2014 08:35

miss you totally have my sympathy!
I have had terrible back problems (today is actually the anniversary of me getting my bionic bits!) I really hope my back doesn't kick off.

I found out the sex of both of my children and both at the 12 week scans.

With my DS, I didn't ask, the Sonographer announced excitedly she could see what sex the baby was, so we said tell us!

The second time I asked at the 12 week scan and they told me it was DD.

I don't know why they say 16 weeks if they can see before? I guess incase they are wrong and they don't want everyone asking.

I have my scan today, feeling very nervous as absolutely sure I am going to be put back a week (and obviously the normal worries of something being wrong)

I am currently psyching myself up with the help of a double egg and sausage mcmuffin and two extra hash browns.

Fat cow that I am.

Thinking of you today Number3 - keep us posted!

My scan three weeks today Confused

Bustherb · 12/12/2014 09:26

Hi ladies. How's everyone today? I'm off sick from work, can't stop throwing up, saw Dr and he's given me medication and tested my wee and said I'm dehydrated and have an infection brewing. Lovely !! My hubby doing my head in too, he thinks I should be taking my mind off it because apparently I'm less sick when I'm at work. I've been off for 3 days now and one of those days I was sick all day and the other I was sick once so don't know where he gets his theory from. Think he's loosing his patience with me. Told him though how would he feel throwing up everyday for the last 4 weeks. Totally annoyed at him for it. AngryAngryAngry My scan is next Thursday when I'll be just under 12 weeks. Xx

Number3cometome · 12/12/2014 09:29

Bustherb I was the same earlier on this week!
Had a couple of days off sick, doc gave me metochlopramide which sorted me right out. I am now no longer sure it was morning sickness as I stopped the tablets yesterday and haven't thrown up again (touchwood)
Literally couldn't even keep water down Monday / Tuesday it was horrific!
Hope you are feeling better and that DH stops being a punk.
x

Zampa · 12/12/2014 09:49

Is anyone else getting pins and needles at night? I wake up several times a night and need to vigorously shake and rub my hands to get any feeling back!

Number3cometome · 12/12/2014 09:52

Zampa

Sounds like Carpel tunnel, like when you get swollen it does something to the nerves in your hands.
Or you are laying on them?

I got it much later on with previous pregnancies, it's annoying!

Bustherb · 12/12/2014 10:36

Thanks number, he's just come up stairs and tried to apologise. Did you have any reservations about taking the medication? My dr has prescribed cyclozone or something ( I need to go and pick it up from the pharmacy) I was talking to my nan about it and she was pregnant while that anti sickness drug was about that made those babies be born without limbs. Xx

Number3cometome · 12/12/2014 10:41

Thalidomide, absolutely awful.

I am confident as I believe after the horrors of Thalidomide that they do absolutely make sure medicines are safe.

I have had the same issue with my Beta blockers (for my heart) they are not safe in pregnancy so have been switched to Alpha blockers which I trust.

I did ask my GP about 14 times if they were safe haha

Glad he has apologised, now milk the apology for a back rub or something Grin

Toastandmarmiteallday · 12/12/2014 11:11

Also off sick today from work which hasn't gone down too well especially because i had been due to work tomorrow outdoors all day. DH has had a horrible cold and chest infection for over a week which has now come my way - just very pleased I have already had my flu jab. Feeling rotten and sick for the first time today (after weeks of nausea) - coughing and feeling nauseous isn't a good mix! Hoping a day on the sofa will help and an afternoon nap! DH surprisingly has been very good and supportive - sure it's the guilt of giving me his bug!

Zampa - agree with number. Sounds like carpal tunnel. May want to mention it next time see mw.

Good luck for today Number3cometome, hope all goes well.

Sorry you're not feeling well today Toastandmarmiteallday

I think we will find out the sexes of our twins! I don't think we would have found out for a singleton, but I feel the need to be more prepared for two and be able to visualise what's coming a bit! They are from two embryos so could be any combination!
