Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

Welcome missmorse

Overtiredbackagain · 29/11/2014 07:40

Morning all, why am I awake so bloody early on a Saturday?! Even DC are still sleeping, which is unheard of Shock

I am 8 + 3, midwife booking in on Tuesday, still no date for first scan. I am desperate to tell DC who are 9 and 5, but with my age am worried about DS tests and results Hmm

Only had a couple of days this week where I felt terrible with nausea and headaches as opposed to daily, so much more bearable and hoping to have turned the corner, although not getting complacent as I know how quickly that feeling can change!

It's amazing how so early on everything changes within your body, don't you think? In terms of food, I am really just eating what I fancy, but eating far less than I would normally. I love my wine, but seriously gone off it since a few days of discovering I was pregnant, which is great, I certainly don't miss it - or the expense - right now!

How is everyone else today?

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 07:44

Morning! Sorry for bringing the thread down with poo chat yesterday. Honestly I've never been so sore in all my life! Labour will be nothing now ;)

Pleased to report the lax did the trick and I'm now fine!

I am however experiencing my first really nauseous morning, and I've got to get on a three hour train. This will be interesting...

I'm 7 weeks today - scan on wed and booking in appointment not for 2 more weeks Smile

Welcome to all the newbies!

IBelieveInPink · 29/11/2014 07:49

Checking in to the new thread. Welcome to the newbies.

I also have ridiculous insomnia. Was on a very rare night out last night til 1am. DH is up this morning with dd. can I sleep?! No chance! Both last night and this morning.... Wide awake. Hmm

Pipbin · 29/11/2014 07:54

Am I the only one that is completely paniced and counting the days to the first scan (9) because they are convinced that they are going to mc.
I'm sure the mc stats are wrong because every woman I talk to has had one.

broodylicious · 29/11/2014 08:04

Ah pipbin xx the stats are one in four so yes, it does seem as though many millions of women have had the heartache. However, the odds are still in your favour, for those three successful and healthy pregnancies Smile my pregnancy yoga teacher said that worries are prayers for something bad to happen - I like that thinking although not always easy to remember and live by Just try to focus on the positives and that you are pg right now and that whatever will be, will be xxThanksThanks

Fleurchamp · 29/11/2014 08:06

leela that's so strange, I was coming on here to say I have woken up feeling so sick Sad

I have spent the past two weeks complaining that I don't feel pregnant. Karma Hmm

sdyer · 29/11/2014 08:23

Morning all and welcome missmorse. Sorry you're feeling so lonely there are lots of great apps you can get advice from too. I'm 8+1 and not seen dr yet for same reason as you but going weds and got booking in sat x

Checking in Smile

Number3cometome · 29/11/2014 08:40

Checking in!

Had a dream last night that these people poured petrol in my ears in an attempt to extract info from me. Next thing I was swimming in the sea? Random.

I defo think I have evening nausea, also stretches my lower belly to cough.
Love the poo chat, I'm experiencing all sorts but mainly the 'fluffy' variety.

broodylicious · 29/11/2014 08:41

Just caught a whiff of last nights tea pots - heave city Shock I think it's the smell of the remnants of the sauce that's most offensive, it was creamy tomato and chilli peppers.

With you on the insomnia pink, takes me forever to get off to sleep then I'm awake again after 45 minutes! I am pretty confident I didn't have this when I was pg with dd.

SophieBarringtonWard · 29/11/2014 08:47

pipbin it's not one in four women, it's one in four pregnancies, which might explain why it seems like so many women have had one - because it is more than a quarter of women. Does that make sense? I know you mentioned earlier this was your last shot at IVF so this must be agonising for you, fingers crossed for you that all continues to be well.

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 08:56

Morning ladies! Wetting myself re the poo chat! sarky sounds like you might have ibs as those similar to my symptoms - pre pg wouldn't go for a week or more.

Pls can someone update my stats? 23, #1, Southampton

Part of the reason for change in bowel is your thyroid. It is working hard in early pg to supply baby too and baby takes over itself in 2nd trimester.
But of course constip from the progesterone too.
Anxiously waiting for thyroid bloods back from gp (as im on meds) should be early next week, just hoping gp pays attention to the levels in pg so i dont have to chase them up.

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 10:27

Pipbin I'm just as terrified as I lost my last pregnancy but I'm trying not to vocalise it too much on here. You're definitely not alone there are loads of us terrified ladies :). Once you get a scan at 8 weeks and see heartbeat the odds of mc go down but it doesn't make it less terrifying. I guess only thing that is for sure is you can't change it either way - a mc happens because pregnancy is not developing properly. But it's still terrifying. Fx for you and everyone else here x

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 10:45

Has anyone else noticed a change in shape of their tummies? I am 6+1 and have noticed that from my tummy to lady area has become more sloped... before used to be completely flat 'down there' with a bit of an overhanging tummy just below my belly button, but now not overhanging, it is sloped? Confused

Also, another question, is anyone planning on going to NCT classes or just the NHS ones? NCT is so expensive! Was just browsing this morning. Also two of the classes are on weekday mornings, and both before I plan to go on mat leave so not sure how that would work!

BadIdeaBear · 29/11/2014 10:49

sdyer and want your stats are in.

Have general back ache this morning and wish that DH and DSS would stop squeezing so tight when they hug me! Me boobs hurt!

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 10:56

Badidea my boobs hurt so much when hugged! Have to keep reminded DH no squeezing allowed Wink Thanks for adding stats :)

My Mum has bought me a maternity sleep bra though so hoping that will help during the night, haven't tried it out yet though

Leela5 · 29/11/2014 10:58

My back hurts and I feel sick. Just are salt n vinegar squares to try to fix it.

It didn't fix it.

I'm going to sign up for Lazy Daisy classes as they do them in my town. Meant to be really good

7 weeks today

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 10:59

Cor, me and sarky are the youngest by a long shot!

Great idea with the stats spreadsheet though :)

WantToGoingTo · 29/11/2014 11:02

Leela lazy daisy looks really good! Nowhere near where I live though :( My Mum is all for active birthing. At the hospital I am going to give birth in they have ropes you can hang off, and seats with holes in and all sorts! Bit like a gymnasium! Makes sense though, gravity can help you along a bit, can imagine would be harder to 'push uphill' if you are lying on your back. in no way am i an expert, DC1 here

Thepurplegiraffe · 29/11/2014 11:10

Want I did NCT and the NHS active class last time and I found the NCT one better. The main reason people do NCT though is for the friends you can make who will be local and going through it at the same time as you. They are an invaluable support network in those early days. I would really recommend it, I am thinking about doing a postnatal one this time just to meet people who are off at the same time. You are allowed time off work for appointments and I think that covers NCT. I certainly took the time off!

Zampa · 29/11/2014 11:13

I'll be signing up for NCT classes wantto. Having just moved 200 miles from my friends and family, I'm going along to try and make some pals!

I've also discovered something called Buggyfit this morning. Exactly as it sounds; outdoor exercise classes with buggy in tow. It looks like there are classes all over the UK.
