Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

Stone I am the same - the slightest cramp now and I rush off to the toilet as I am always wet! I even have to change knickers before I go to bed now as well as in the morning Blush

However I feel distinctly unpregnant today. No nausea (not that I get much anyway), boobs feel better, eating normally, bit tired but I put that down to the longer journeys to work I have been doing and lots of overtime... No cramps to speak of anymore, and seem to mostly have my appetite back? Apart from the fact I haven't properly been to the loo in 8 days not much to speak of! Worried or lucky? Who knows...

One week tomorrow til my first midwife appt, and it has been confirmed that my mum's colleague can sneak me in as an extra to her antenatal scan clinic Grin just hope all is well...

So sick here. Debilitating.

But thinking of you ladies and sarky.

TallGiraffes · 10/12/2014 22:22

dust are you keeping fluids down? I was admitted for dehydration earlier in the week due to hyperemesis, I needed 5 litres to get my ketones down so take care of yourself and get help if you're unsure.

Romeolovesjuliet · 11/12/2014 07:19

Really, really sorry to hear sarky's news.
I'm not actually being sick here but the nausea is so bad it is really starting to get me down. It's definitely worse than either of my last pregnancies and I could have another 4-6 weeks of this if they are anything to go by... I really feel for those of you with actual sickness, it must be awful.

It is just so cruel Broody and I am really saddened to hear it happened to you as well.

Yes have to agree - DH doesn't quite believe it's happening so will be pleased when we go to the scan in a few weeks to check everything's ok. Just a pain having to wait until 7th Jan.... But I guess it gives us something to look forward to after ChristmasGrin

romeo I have that too. Not actually been sick yet but feel so, so rough! I do sometimes wonder if I'd feel better (even for a few minutes) if I could actually be sick!

Scan today. Arghhhhhhhhhh!

Good luck Ibelieve, hope it goes well. Very exciting. Mine is on Saturday.

misseskimo · 11/12/2014 08:37

So sorry to hear your news sarky Thanks

romeo I'm the same. Been off work all week as felt so nauseous and drained it's been making me light-headed. Gone off food completely and having to force myself to eat Sad

On another note, I updated the stats sheet this morning with a couple of new columns that I saw on another thread ages ago didn't bother with antenatal apt. Dates or induction/cc/actual birth dates as didn't see the point atm. But thought the scan dates and gender predictor would be both fun and interesting Smile

broodylicious · 11/12/2014 09:08

Good luck for today pink.

Can't wait til we are all out of the most unnerving bit and we can start deliberating over gender and old wives tales (my fave is if you're more hairy during pg, it must be a girl Grin). Defo good to get that column in Smile

IBelieveInPink · 11/12/2014 09:24

Broody - I thought that meant boy as more testosterone!

Thepurplegiraffe · 11/12/2014 09:34

Are you supposed to be more sick for a girl or a boy? Think it's a girl...

IBelieveInPink · 11/12/2014 09:49

Yea girl.... Although I had nothing at all with dd so I'm not sure that one can be relied on either!

WantToGoingTo · 11/12/2014 09:49

Just want to see a heartbeat on my scan next week, it is so nerve wracking! Wish there was a little window into my womb :)

Good idea re extra columns! We won't be finding out anyway, my mum says it is like unwrapping a present before Christmas haha! We don't mind what we have and won't be buying many clothes to start with as that tends to be the gift of choice for most people so doesn't matter :) and we want to buy all gender neutral stuff to start with so can be used for future sproglets too Grin

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 11/12/2014 10:38

The hairy thing is definitely for a boy, I had a line of dark hair growing up my belly when pg with DS Hmm the midwife told me it was the only gender predictor myth she thought had an element of truth, due to the extra testosterone. I was pretty certain he was a boy even though we didn't find out for that reason. I'm sure it's not a very reliable method though!

Naturegirl82 · 11/12/2014 10:51

mister be thankful you only had that line while pg! I have PCOS so have it all the time, but I had a dd.

My mum did the ring on a chain thing when I was pg (well a crystal but the same idea) and that showed correctly dd was a girl. But there is a 50/50 chance with all these things!

Bustherb · 11/12/2014 10:56

Does anyone find they vomit more after certain foods and know the reason why it happens? I love shreddies but they make me vomit all the time xx

Thepurplegiraffe · 11/12/2014 10:59

Definitely, there are alot of foods that make me hurl and shreddies are definitely one of them. The problem is that even with safe foods, if I eat them too much, the same happens. It is very difficult to find things to eat every day.

SophieBarringtonWard · 11/12/2014 11:02

I had a line of dark hair growing up in both of my pregnancies, I have two girls. Mind you I am pretty hairy as a general rule anyway.

DD1 also had whichever heartbeat is meant to be a boy's, obviously she wasn't… And I was sick with DD2 after not being with DD1… I think it's all bollocks basically!

Romeolovesjuliet · 11/12/2014 11:20

I had lots of swelling and suspected obstetric cholestasis (sp?) with DD but nothing with DS. Generally he was just a much easier pregnancy. My friend had exactly the same and also had a girl then a boy. Obviously most likely a coincidence, but still! I do think I will be able to guess what this one is though (won't find out) as DS and DD were such different pregnancies.

naty1 · 11/12/2014 11:21

Im pretty sure it'll be a girl. Because so far there are no boys in the last 2 generations, i have a sister and a DD and my sister has 2 DDs. (My poor Dad).
I dont think i had a line of hair just the line on the skin.

Thepurplegiraffe · 11/12/2014 11:29

I keep thinking that Naty as we are mostly girls in my family and all of mine and my sister's children are girls so far but I think it is decided by the boy so it's just a coincidence.

WantToGoingTo · 11/12/2014 11:36

It is exactly 50:50 boys and girls in mine and DH family so who knows for us - could go either way!

Oops forgot to add earlier 7+6

SophieBarringtonWard · 11/12/2014 11:45

Doesn't the sex come from the sperm naty? So I don't think it will make a difference.

misseskimo · 11/12/2014 11:48

That's the reason my DH is adamant it will be a DD. For the last 4 generations on my mums side (both her mother and fathers sides) have had first born (and second) as DD. And DH side is first born DD for 3 generations on both sides. The only exception to this was his DSis had two boys, but their dad is one of 3 boys, the second birth being twins. So he thinks thats why the rule broke there...

I know a lot of people who have both DD & DS and every single one the pregnancy/birth was easy (virtually symptom free) for the boys, but awful with the girls. Which is another reason DH thinks girl as I've been so ill. I personally now think it will be a boy just to spite him Wink teehehe.

WantToGoingTo · 11/12/2014 12:07

Maybe I am having a boy then as not many symptoms to speak of here! The speculation is so funny, weird how things work out! Could be right either way there is a 50:50 chance Wink
