Pasbeaucoup - Grin penis beaker still cracks me up.

Well I think sex might be on the cards for later so I will give the stretches a try. I can't do with pulling another muscle!

Just realised it makes it sound like we have really acrobatic sex Blush this is not the case. I think I am just that unfit from lack of exercise the past few months due to illness that my muscles need some tlc.

Haha

Morning ladies, i'm in London for the weekend as been at the 02 watching tennis last night and tonight. We went up the shard yesterday afternoon. You go up in the lift really fast. It made me so dizzy and being so high was strange. Dont usually get like that with that kind of thing. My head felt strange for about an hour afterwards.

TheDetective · 15/11/2014 11:57

What are people eating at the moment?

Food bill is ridiculous as having to go to the shop every day as I never know what I will be able to eat Hmm. Remember this from last time. Also know it improved, but right now, it is annoying!

I can not stomach any meat other than bacon. I only ate chicken and ham anyway, but now I can't even eat those!

Off my usual drink of pepsi max.

I pretty much want carbs, strong tasting things, and sweets. Hmm

Not the best diet. Although my fruit and veg consumption is still okay, I'm eating quite a lot of fruit.

My breakfast this morning consisted of a banana, followed by a bowl of super (low fat!) noodles, with extra hot chilli powder on them Blush Blush Blush Shock. It did knock off the nausea though!

Can anyone inspire me with foods?! Think tonight is going to be chilli for tea Grin.

I've eaten my way through a jar of pickles. Baked potatoes with cheese and pepper are my go to favourite.

Regarding sex, my sex drive used to be very low - sporadic really. Then earlier this year it massively increased. Then I had my first orgasm Shock yep, it took me to almost 30 to discover them. I thought I just couldn't before...

So since then it's been fairly high, and pregnancy hasn't changed how I feel.

My last pregnancy I attempted sex at 10 weeks, but was too ill so had to stop. Then tried again at 16 weeks, which was okay, but didn't do it again til 24 weeks. Then it didn't happen again until I was trying to evict the stubborn bugger. And it made me cry I hated it so much!

It's whatever you feel comfortable with.

I'm still feeling incredibly lucky with this pregnancy. I honestly can not believe I have escaped HG. I've not even been sick. If it wasn't for the regular pregnancy nausea, and the massive pregnancy comedy boobs, I'd be worried. But I'm not. I'm frickin' grateful beyond belief.

Had my first midwife visit yesterday. Things have changed here. I now have to go to a hospital booking in and then there I will be given my 12 week scan date. They better get their skates on as I'm 8+4, and I need to arrange time off work as I'm working day shifts the next few weeks. It's not leaving me much time to arrange things.

Actually. I think the thought of it has made me decide to book with one to one sooner. I CBA with going to a hospital booking in. As I've declined consultant care. Last time I went to hospital after my 20 week scan, a doctor just walked in the room, uninvited, (declined consultant care that time too) and proceeded to write shit in my notes. Anyway, it gave me the rage. I would like to avoid the rage or any confrontations this time. Last time it was full of them.

Have a nice weekend everyone. I have a rare one off. :)

Yup I'm with you both Tori & Detective. I'm really struggling with getting my calories in which is soooooo unlike me! Carbs seem to be the way forward as any sort of obvious protein seems to be a big no no, especially after lunch. I seem to be surviving on toast & marmite for breakfast, more toast for lunch & either leek & potato soup or macaroni cheese for dinner. Cheese is amazing and unfortunately so are cookies!

Tonight is going to be interesting as I have my friend's birthday dinner out - CURRY (bleugh). I think I'm going to be queen of the poppadums.

Had my early scan yesterday and all is good! Dating was showing a week behind what we were expecting but not too worried as I'm sure it's not accurate at this stage. Turns out I'm just a typical over paranoid first timer & have just been extremely lucky with my weak symptoms. Constant mild nausea, worse in the evenings but only actually been sick once & sore boobs that come and go.

Celebrated the scan by buying a new car. As you do.

bubalou · 15/11/2014 12:40

Orville - great news on the scan. I got put back a bit at mine but they always change at 12 weeks and they changed mine again at 20 with DS.

This pregnancy is sooooo different from my first. With ds only slight nausea and couldn't eat any meat for first 4 months. I ate jelly, marmite on toast & dairlea Dunkers & tons of fruit.

This time round - hyperemesis, hospitalisation, medication, weight loss - finally all getting better now and. I keep wanting either chinese - chilli beef, duck pancakes, chips and curry sauce! Or I want dinners with gravy! I keep making chicken or sausage casseroles and roast dinners!!!!

Bizarre!

Good sickness foods I have found - cold pink lady apples, clementines (of course), salt & vinegar chip sticks, breadsticks, dole fruit & jelly cups, grapes, nuts, cereal bars, popcorn, orange juice or lemonade ice lollies.

Smile
JennyOfOldstones · 15/11/2014 12:41

Congrats on the scan and the new car Orville! I just got a new car too, one with back seats so I can get a car seat in Wink

TheDetective · 15/11/2014 12:45

Oh yes. What are you all drinking too?!

I was just having squash but it tastes funny now.

Now I'm on water. But yuk. I hate plain water.

I'm getting really dehydrated as I think I'm only actually drinking 500ml a day Shock and my pee is super dark and not a lot of it.

Good luck on the curry Orville although I could probably eat one with no meat. There's an idea for tomorrow maybe....?! Oh. Naan. Even better!!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 15/11/2014 12:53

Orville - great news on the scan and the car. Grin

Hmm, food wise. I'm not the bastion for healthy eating I once was pre pregnancy. Love McCain microwave chips (with vinegar), iceberg lettuce (with vinegar), granny smith Apple's and lemon barley water. It must be sour or vinegar based. The thought of eating chicken sickens me and the only protein I've managed to eat is burgers (lovingly made by oh cos he is lovely to me right now). Oo, and calipo ice lolliesHmm.

Really must move and get some housework done otherwise the house will remain a tip for another week.

bubalou · 15/11/2014 13:12

I do struggle with drink.

I like the Tesco high juices, lemonade with either line cordial or orange juice.

Smile
cuphat · 15/11/2014 13:23

Great news Orville.

I'm struggling with drinks so I'm not as hydrated as I normally am. I normally drink redbush but I've gone off that and I'm not drinking my usual green tea due to the caffeine (I'll allow myself the odd one after 12 weeks). I'm not allowed fizzy drinks and not supposed to have sugary ones as I currently have braces. So that leaves me with water. Though I have to have a hot chocolate every evening (uses up my caffeine/sugar allowance!).

Food-wise I'm eating normally though I have gone off pasta. I really fancy jacket potatoes though.

Tori- you can live in hope. Wink

htf2 · 15/11/2014 13:49

hahah tori not quite like that...
DH is working today so I am still in my pjs. I am another one who is quite keen on the carbs but struggle in the evenings.... I thought I wanted a burger wednesday and we went out for one but by the time we got there I wasn't sure. I think all the women sitting near me assumed I have an eating disorder - I'm quite skinny at the moment with the recent weightloss, spent 20 minutes staring at my burger like it was an alien, we didn't talk much while I slowly ate about a quarter and DH made some encouraging noises, DH ate the other half while I picked the meat out of the rest. then we paid and left... It seemed like a really nice place though, worth going back!

purplebiro · 15/11/2014 14:08

Yesterday was my birthday and poor sproglet got nothing in the way of nutrition from me - cake for breakfast, then attempted to get a nut roast sandwich with salad for lunch at local cafe. Whoever made it obviously read the recipe, saw the sunflower seeds and decided that the in-shell bird seed type ones would do just was well as de seeded. Yuk. I got it at the start of a lunch meeting though and didn't wan to send it back and make a fuss in front of the people I was meeting with so waited til after then didn't have time before my next meeting to get anything else. Then was rushing until dinner which was an absolutely filthy burger and curly fries (at Solita, for any of you who know Manchester restaurants - was gorgeous) and more cake for afters. Poor baby! Will redress the balance and attempt to eat my five today!

ChatEnOeuf · 15/11/2014 14:15

I'm surviving on Tuc crackers, mini cheddars and orange juice right now. Managed some pasta for lunch yesterday, and some of a burger and fries for dinner (we went out to celebrate a positive scan :) ) Nausea is worse in the evenings, so I find I'm better with a 'normal' ha lunch and then snacks through the evening - kind of like a newborn feeds, every two hours Grin

I can drink hot squash, providing it's really hot; water, providing it's really cold, and diet coke. Sorry baby, nothing decent coming your way. Good thing I'm a pro at hiding vegetables in sauces.

purplebiro · 15/11/2014 14:22

On a more general pregnancy/food note - I was definitely only interested in very bland foods and carbs until about a week ago - which is unlike me - I love curries and strongly flavoured/spiced/herb-based foods, our first hint that I might be preggo (we'd stopped ttc for a few months for various reasons but still having unprotected sex) was on holiday in Greece when I didn't want olives. I also never really suffered too badly with sickness (was only sick once) but had general nausea, bad trapped wind and a very bad few days with the other end - all of which added up to me eating a lot of crap!! I'm now 11+2 and appetite is more or less back to what it was - which means I have run out of excuses and need to start eating like a grown up again :-/

purplebiro · 15/11/2014 14:23

Are we allowed goats cheese? All over pretty much every recipe here: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/nov/15/goats-cheese-recipes-pasta-salad-potato-cakes-bruschetta-cheesecake-10-best

ememsmum · 15/11/2014 14:29

My nausea is improving (at 10+2) and appetite almost back to normal but I am still having difficulty drinking. Water has to be really cold and preferably mixed with a touch of juice. I try really hard to drink, and DH constantly nags, but am still dehydrated. Lips are gross and peeling.

I'm keen to get back to the gym. Last time I gymmed up til 38 weeks and only missed a handful of sessions due to nausea. I used the rower til approx 7 months and used the bike. Did a fair bit of resistance. Went to aquanatal as more of a social thing from 6 months. Was slightly limited due to back pain. I've missed 4 weeks so far this time but may attempt to go on Monday evening. The rower is really good for my core so I want to keep that up as bump allows but will have to ease back into it. At the moment my back seems ok so I may be able to use the xtrainer and have a bit more variety. As I see it I have a couple more weeks to work on my abs so want them as strong as possible before it all starts to hang out Grin

Newgirl33 · 15/11/2014 15:24

Could I now be getting morning sickness at 9 weeks? My husband was making coffee in the machine and while the smell doesn't normally bother me today it did! I felt really nauseated and was actually sick too!

I'm hoping it was just a one off!!

Had my booking appointment yesterday which was all fine. I did find the "carbon monoxide" test a little odd. I'm guessing the midwife wanted to find out if I was fibbing about being a non-smoker!

Got my flu jab sorted and just waiting for an appointment for my 12 week scan.

Hope you're all doing ok :)

Thelovecats · 15/11/2014 15:41

Be careful about dehydration- I got told off at both previous booking appt for having ketones in my wee because I wasn't
drinking enough- I always go off tea when pg and struggle to drink enough other stuff. I am drinking water, j2o because it tastes a tiny bit sour so it's tolerable, lemonade and hot water with lemon. Food wise I have to cook for kids even when I want to boke, so am forcing most things down, as it does make me feel better. Don't want anything much in the morning but have to make myself. Def feel better now at 8+4 than a couple of weeks ago.
Got booking in on wed the they will book 12 week scan. Got the fear already big time. Does anyone know how often statistically a problem is found at 12 weeks? It happened to my friend whose baby had an incompatible with life problem so am worrying about that kind of thing I suppose.

Thelovecats · 15/11/2014 15:44

Oh they do a carbon monoxide test here even if you say non smoker, although I asked the midwife last time if people do lie and she said no, people are generally pretty honest!

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/11/2014 16:18

Hello all!

Sorry I've been away, was having a a bit of a flap about everything really. I have since calmed down.

Nausea is finally abating at 10+2. I'm not completely free of it but retching in the ladies at work for 10 minutes a go multiple times a day seems to mostly be a thing of the past.

13 days until my scan. Still feels ages away. My DH is very nervous due to past experience with a previous partner and isn't exactly brimming with enthusiasm at the moment. I think he's gently trying to stage manage me just in case we get bad news at the scan.
