We're renting a villa in Tenerife, it'll be so nice to get away and relax for a bit :) the 24th will fly by for you I'm sure! Have you told anyone about your pregnancy?

Boofsandboss · 04/11/2014 13:41

very nice! i love tenerife! ive told my family and oh family and a few friends but not many! i just want it to be out in the open now! to excited to go buy baby clothes and talk to people about it? have you told anyone?

VintageCherry26 · 04/11/2014 13:45

That's good, I think telling people really helps :) I've told my best friend, but telling my parents and DPs mum this weekend, then leaving the surprise for everyone else at our wedding! Me too, I already have a few items of clothing that I caught on sale when we were TTC but it'll be nice to have the okay to buy specifically for this little one!

Oh gakay so sorry to hear your news :( Flowers

I'm back from my booking in appt (and lunch). Midwife was lovely, got to go back in 2 weeks for bloods and things like that. I guess I'll get a letter from the hospital about my scan in a few weeks.

She said I'm low-risk and if I wanted to consider a homebirth, the local team were very good. Lots of leaflets to take away etc.

Now back at work getting stressed at how much work I have to do, when all I want to do is sleeeeeep....

Boofsandboss · 04/11/2014 13:52

aw thats a nice idea :) do you have any cravings? mines oranges, orange juice and wham bars!

VintageCherry26 · 04/11/2014 13:54

Thank you sunbathing cat! A second trimester break sounds perfect! If the villa we've rented is nice, I'll suggest it to you when we get back! It has its own pool and is a short distance to Peurto De La Cruz and a lovely beach. And it's a really good price!!

Ooh I posted on the other thread and then realised it was full!!

Gakay I'm so sorry to hear your news :(. I hope you are having tlc and not feeling too physically bruised.

I had my booking in appointment this morning and mw worked out due date to be 12th June. We'd worked it out as 15th, both going from being 6+3 on 20/10 at my scan. Anyhow, a couple of days here or there makes very little difference when it comes to it! Same mw as last time, she's an acquired taste but I quite liked her before so I'm happy.

Chookford · 04/11/2014 14:29

welcome and congrats boofs

Ohh all this talk of going away makes me want to go and book a holiday! Probably shouldn't though

jazzy thank you for the stats!

It was a lovely experience and well worth the money, beautiful period house with open fire lit beside the scanning couch!

If any of you are taking a full hear of mat leave and are claiming childcare vouchers even during the last three months where you receive nil pay you will still receive your vouchers but at the expense of your employer and not your salary iyswim?

VintageCherry26 · 04/11/2014 15:54

Congratulations smug! That sounds amazing , where was the scan?

Ah lovely Smug, it looks like a little baby rather than a bean too! :)

HexyQueen · 04/11/2014 16:14

Looks like I have just raced to the top of the June birthing queue... Saw a very brusque yet hilarious consultant who actually said "bollocks" when I said I'd been classed as a geriatric mum. He has booked me in for my c section a week early on 1st June....going through both our diaries so it doesn't clash with half term or A levels (Stepson would go ape if it did). It all suddenly became very real then.

How on earth are you lasses eating satsumas? barfs in the bin by the bed at the thought. Literally the only thing I can keep down is half a veggie sausage roll from the Pound Bakery. And polo fruits to take the grim taste out my mouth.

Welcome & congrats to all the newbies xxx

HexyQueen · 04/11/2014 16:14

Lovely scan smug x

Boofsandboss · 04/11/2014 16:18

Congratulations smug!! How much is a private scan?

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 04/11/2014 16:21

Thank you lovely ladies! Yes I'm feeling very relieved. It cost £99 and was on Clifton, bristol. I think other people have got them done for much less though. A lady was having a 4d scan before me, her goodie bag looked nice, DVD, colour pic etc.

Tranquilitybaby · 04/11/2014 16:31

So sorry gakay hugs. Thanks

My can't keep up with this thread, it's flowing so fast!

Congrats Smug x

MrsKrios · 04/11/2014 16:32

Hi everyone. Had my scan this morning and saw a nice heartbeat. I am only six weeks a long though which I was surprised by. Had my dates very wrong it seems.
