Had 4 hours of back ache and period pains. Also done some nesting. Hope haven't got another three weeks of this.

I haven't posted on here for a while (been reading though it's hard to keep up!). I'm due on Friday!

Wow, it's exciting (and a bit scary) to see some of you have had your babies now! Congratulations to Dec and Cheshire, and any other recent arrivals I've missed.

Good luck, Madrigals!

My hospital wants to induce me at 40+4, so they suggested stretch and sweeps before that. I had my first this morning. Was quite anxious about it, but it wasn't so bad. Although my baby's too high up and I'm not dilated, so she couldn't do the full procedure. I'm booked for another in a few days, so perhaps this first one will make things favourable for that one.

Haven't had any spotting yet, but I feel a bit achey and "off".

I've only rarely had any BH or contractions. My bump's very tight (even MW said so today) so I think it makes it hard to tell if I get BH. A few times I've thought I had period type pains, but they were mild and so far always went away again.

Been trying all the usual stuff meanwhile to help things along/ease labour! (Sex, raspberry leaf tea, walks, dates which mw just reminded me of today) I'm not sure how much it will help but I'm getting a bit impatient. Think it just helps to feel like I'm doing something. :) I'm uncomfortable, though not unbearably so. It's mainly that I'd like her to come before they have to induce me. :/

Good evening ladies!

Well Sylvie arrived safe and sound this morning weighing 8lb15 we are totally over the moon!!!
She is feeding like a dream. We had a very speedy 2 hour labour - and literally only just made it to the hospital in time. Phew! We have to stay in tonight as she did a massive poo during labour, but should be home tomorrow morning.

I shall post more details when I get a chance. Meantime, best of luck mads and all the overdue ladies x

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/01/2015 21:39

Yay hula. That's excellent news. Congratulations. Enjoy newborn snuggles.

Pesto11 · 05/01/2015 21:40

Speedy speedy!

Another girl... Where are the boys? They're all probably the overdue ones!

LittlePink · 05/01/2015 21:41

Congratulations hula! Well done. 2 hrs is amazing. Enjoy your newborn cuddles.

Hang in there mads. Won't be long now and you'll have your newborn in your arms.

LittlePink · 05/01/2015 21:42

Mines a boy pesto. Yes overdue!

Pesto11 · 05/01/2015 21:52

We have 2 hours left of 5.1.15

We can do it!

cheshirem2b · 05/01/2015 21:57

Baby Ellie is doing great!
We had the Community Midwife come to us today. Ellie has lost 9.4% of her birth weight (she's 4 days old) so the cut off for concern is 10%! Midwife watched her feed and is happy with that but suggested she's still a bit lazy at feeding so gave me a few tips to stimulate her and my supply to get her taking more milk in.
She's feeding loads for up to an hour a time so is coming on leaps and bounds after her initial reluctance to feed.
A midwife support worker is coming tomorrow to do a heel prick test and then a midwife will come again on Wednesday to weigh Ellie again and check my Caesarian is healing ok.
Ellie is feeding and sleeping really well and when she's awake she's getting more alert and following things with her eyes. She's absolutely adorable and we are completely besotted with her.

Aww sounds like you're settling well with baby routines
Gorgeous photo.

The midwife support in your area sounds amazing
I'm worried about breastfeeding so I hope the midwives here as helpful (I'll be asking you all for advice too!)

4 days old already... Smile

Dec2013mummy · 06/01/2015 00:15

Congratulations hula what a fantastic name.
Good luck mad thinking of you.
Sorry I haven't posted much. Poor Ds has spent the day projectile vomiting so dealing with that and a newborn has been a bit of a challenge and Dh is around. Don't know how I would or am going to cope on my own! Ah well! Sure I'll find a way Grin

Pesto11 · 06/01/2015 00:55

Oh no your poor son.
One day at a time. Hopefully he will be better soon.
Your baby is almost a week old already!

cheshirem2b · 06/01/2015 02:47
