I was wondering where everyone had disappeared to then realised there was another page! Huge congratulations to Dec.
We didn't do anything for New Years, just stayed in and I treated myself to a tiny glass of Whisky. I thought it would prompt a speedy labour as it would be typical to have a drink and then have to try and convince midwives that I don't normally have whisky breath!
DH has been off work for a couple of weeks now but has turned into a teenager and stays up past 2am then gets up at midday. I started the new year washing up and then slumped on a sofa watching the Big Bang Therory. Have taken down a few decorations tho, leaving the tree up for another day because our tree is - if I do say so myself - beautiful. It's always the one time when I wish we had more visitors drop by so I can smugly show it off to as many people as I can!

BH and everything still calm compared to a couple of days ago but I did feel pain yesterday which I could only describe as "the baby trying to force my cervix open with its tiny hands".

Hope everything goes well for Cheshire and anyone else who might have woken up to things starting to happen Smile

Jo My DH has turned into a teenager too - I keep reminding him that come Monday he needs to get up for work so can't become completely nocturnal, but the 2am-12noon sleeps continue...

SK28 · 01/01/2015 15:25

Ikkle Our antenatal classes didn't cover BH at all, if that makes you feel any better! Mine haven't felt like what you're describing really but it may be different for different people. I have had more cervical pain, or what I think is cervical pain, this week in addition to the BH though. Jabbing sensations or period-like pain low down. The mw said on Tuesday this is normal but didn't say it's a sign of labour or anything - I interpreted it as being connected to baby started to position itself well.

blizy · 01/01/2015 15:50

Congratulations Dec!
I was nesting like a maniac yesterday and now suffering massively with my SPD, I can't get off the sofa/loo without help. I'm shuffling around like an old lady. I hate having to rely on dh for help.

Ikkleme · 01/01/2015 16:37

That's good to know SK, I wish I had of done some sort of class so I know what to look out for, we done the labour ward tour and I wasn't impressed at all it's so dated and cramped not what I was expecting at all, they did advise to stay at home as long as possible so just going to go with that approach at least I will be a lot more relaxed at home I think

Decided to get out and about today rather than just sit around waiting for baby to make an appearance or not as the case maybe. So went to a farm and had a lovely day.

Due date tomorrow. Really hoping I don't go too much overdue but baby can't come tomorrow as DH has to go to work. Unless I go into labour before he goes to work of course. He won't go then.

DH is pleased it will be a jan baby though. He said its much easier to work out its age Hmm

LittlePink · 01/01/2015 19:19

I decided to get out too eliza. Went to the woods for a walk. Within 5 mins dd was saying she wanted to go home! It was only 10am and she was wanting her lunch already despite a good breakfast and snacks.

Spd sounds pretty awful. My sister had it in her first pregnancy and was on crutches and had to sleep sitting up in a chair. she didn't get it again though in her 2 other pregnancies afterwards.

Hope Cheshire is progressing well and dec has had a good day with the new little one.

cheshirem2b · 01/01/2015 19:47

Hi guys! Been on induction ward since 10am. On my second pessary and so far about 3cm dilated on last examination at 6ish.
I'm doing Ok but girl on the ward with me is a proper moaner! She was only 1cm at 6pm and has been for a bath, crying in pain and generally making a lot of fuss!
I've been told I'll be monitored again at 9ish and then go to labour Ward or they'll keep me here until midnight and then transfer me over.
It's going to be a long evening I think!

Pesto11 · 01/01/2015 19:50

Though my braxton hicks aren't pain free, I could imagine worse- I really don't know how I'll cope with contractions!!!

I've had a big big bag of crisps, a large choc bar and a bottle of 7up for dinner...
Made a proper dinner for the rest of the family but just not in the mood
Spent the whole day tidying and just fed up.

The pineapple diet starts tmrw(!) (part of me is scared incase baby isn't ready and I shouldn't eat it! The other part of me wants to bite into it as if it were an apple!)

Just had a mini nap which means I probably won't sleep till 3am now!
Although dh has a meeting tmrw so would preferably not be called away till late afternoon should I need to go to hospital !!! If you'd rather I call a taxi my love?!!

Oh sounds like a long day for you cheshire

We are all thinking of you. Stay strong.

I have a feeling I'll be the moany whiny lady when my time comes!!!

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 01/01/2015 20:33

Oh Cheshire that sounds like a long day!! I do hope you get a bit of rest between, despite the moaning - sending lots of vibes over your way.

pesto I was reading about the pineapple effect, I wonder if it works. The thing I read said you have to eat 8 Shock

eliza i forgot we are due date buddies! Every day past tomorrow is going to feel like a week I think. I went 10 days over with DD before labour started. I really don't feel like I have another 10 days left this time, but who knows.

I will update a little more when I get a chance.
Hope everyone else is ok. Flowers

chiruri · 01/01/2015 21:32

Best of luck cheshire, I hope LO makes an appearance soon!
I swear this baby is trying to punch his/her way out. Every time s/he wakes up and starts wriggling I get intense pain in my cervix. Is anyone else just utterly fed up with waiting, now?

Pesto11 · 02/01/2015 05:32

Anymore Facebook babies?
Just been looking at the stats page and we had quite a few due between Xmas and now.

Hope you're ok cheshire and baby is already here or nearly here.

One more day... I hope!!!

LittlePink · 02/01/2015 06:48

Chiriui I'm completely fed up too if that's any consolation. 2 more days to go but doesn't feel like he's ever coming!

I'm so annoyed with dh. I purposefully haven't put anything on fb about this pregnancy because after last time with dd all I got was loads of messages from people I haven't spoken to in 20 years asking any news and I found it really annoying and I specifically told dh about this. I'm already getting irritated by friends and relatives asking any signs yet? My Sil sent a text yesterday saying "so u didn't have him over new year then?" No! I didn't! If I did I'd have told you! Anyway I digress, I've just seen that dh has put a pic of him and dd baking on fb saying "mummy's got a bun in the oven. Daddy's got a cake". I've just seen it now and gone ape at him and told him to get it off. He said how do I do that? I said I don't know you'll have to work it out. Next thing I know I'm going to get messages on fb now too asking when's the big day.

Think I've just woken up in a foul mood, great!

Pesto11 · 02/01/2015 08:39

Oh no poor you

If he uploaded the picture he can just 'delete this image' himself.
Plus if he hasn't tagged you then there's less ppl on your friends list that will have seen the photo...

Still understand why your so angry tho... So close yet so far!

Pesto11 · 02/01/2015 08:40

*you 're

LittlePink · 02/01/2015 09:20

Thanks! We have a lot of mutual friends and I knew one or 2 of them would have seen the green light to post on my wall making it common knowledge for the rest of my friends list to see. I've got off my high horse about it now though. He's deleted it and I feel a bit silly for making such a big deal of it with him. I thanked him for taking it down.

I hope everyone has a comfortable day. I'm going to risk taking dd for a walk to the park. I can't keep her in all day, it's not fair and mw told me to walk to get things moving. Just hope they don't get moving in the park!

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/01/2015 09:30

Well 40 wks has been reached. High 5 hula

I very much hope I don't go 10 days overdue. In fact I hope I don't go past the weekend. I hate going to bed wondering if tonight is the night. I'm convinced that I'll go into labour overnight. And I don't like not being able to plan what I can do during the day. The kids go stir crazy if they stay in and so do I. DH has gone to work today and although the girls were good enough to give me a lie in I am very irritable with them. I know it's not far but I can't help it. Think I'll stick frozen on and go and hide in the bath for a bit.

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 02/01/2015 10:58

Oh eliza I could have written your post!!! The race is on Wink I am sure it will be overnight too, so I go to bed early just in case, then can't sleep. I am very lucky to have a very helpful set of Grandparents 5 mins up the road who are taking DD out for the day and overnight, then she is going to her other grandparents overnight tomorrow. I feel bad as I am counting down until she gets collected, but only because I know I am being a moody so and so and she will have far more fun at the park!
I REALLY want baby to come this weekend.

little we too have kept everything off FB and I am so pleased not to be receiving the messages from "friends" from days gone by, so totally get your frustrations. Fingers Xd things get moving for you too.......but not in the park!

Looks like we are all in the done with waiting club!

40 weeks today!

chiruri · 02/01/2015 11:21

Aww, Little, I totally sympathise. I've kept the whole pregnancy thing pretty quiet on Facebook (although I did announce it at 20 weeks) so been fairly lucky regarding messages etc. My MIL has taken to texting me every day on increasingly weak pretences, though. I'm only 38+4!
Happy EDD, Hula and Eliza!
I'm so glad the weather has improved, so maybe I'll take the dog for a walk or something. BH is being horrible today. Whole bump feels rock hard and uncomfortable.
