Good luck to the inductions. Youngmum - nothing yet 4 me either.

DashingRedhead · 26/10/2006 21:10

I'm still here too - a bit more mucus (who was wishing for it?) this morning, but not much else. A few niggly pains this evening. We had curry for dinner though - so let's see if it works!

Good luck for tomorrow NNNM, I hope it's better for you this time.

girlygale1 · 26/10/2006 22:03

Hi everyone - had sweep yesterday at 11 am - had my daughter at 3.06 pm!!!!!! Very fast and very painful labour - on notes 1st stage lasted 2 hours 22 mins, 2nd stage lasted 11 minutes and 3rd stage was 6 mins. No time for pain relief - except the tens machine that I forgot to turn up - so not sure if it did owt!!! Anyway - she is beautiful - not feeding too well, but we'll get there. We have called her Megan Charlotte - 7lb 1 oz.

Pleased to announce she is definitly my last!!!! At last you won't have to put up with me whinging!!! Good luck to everyone waiting and congrats to all of you that have 'popped' since I was on here last xxxx

Gingeme · 26/10/2006 22:55

Many congratulations girlygale. Sounds very much like my labour. Fast and furious. A beautiful name too. Well done you xxxx

EmilyTurner · 27/10/2006 08:12

Congrats everyone on the birth of your lovely babies! Will check the other board for details.

Am due on Monday. Nothing happening really apart from the period pains, BHs and difficulty walking. Last night my chair in the conservatory slipped from under me and I landed heavily on my bum. I really hurt my back but it is ok this morning.

Got a sweep booked on Tuesday. Am considering castor oil (I know, I know).

Lisamarv · 27/10/2006 09:21

Morning everyone, well it seems something is finally happening with me. Waters started leaking yesterday afternoon, weirdest sensation, wasn't quite sure if it was my waters or if I'd bcome incontinent! Anyway, no contractions or anything so went for a long walk, then started getting mild-ish pains about 6pm, they continued through the night every 15-20 mins getting strongger til they were really quite painful by this morning. Managed a bit of dozing inbetween pains but not much, so am knackered today. Bouncing on the birth ball definitely helps. Just spoken to midwife, have to go and be assessed at lunchtime as waters have gone.... Maybe I'm speaking too soon though because in the last hour or so the contractions have died off, don't think I've had one for half an hour now... Well I'll keep you updated and good lukc to all those others out there who are overdue and fed up!

BENDYB · 27/10/2006 09:30

mornin every1,

congratulations girlygale!!!

sounds promising 4u lisamarv, good luck!

Still been having the same pain kind of things, all last nite again, not really this morning tho, but my stomach feels so tight! I'm fed up of waiting! dps paternity leave starts 2mora so hopefully it'll b 2nite! That'd b perfect! But knowing my luck I've still got another 2 weeks 2 wait!

Any1 else gettin any signs? What bout u wuzz anything more happened? Had any of ur tea yet? I finally got the tablets yesterday!

DogMum · 27/10/2006 10:14

NNNM - thinking of you today. Hope everything kicks off quickly for you. Good luck Lisamarv too, hope things get going again soon.

Lol at semi-skimmed Gingeme. Sorry but it still sounds harmonious, if knackering.

Congratulations Girlygale and well done on such a magnificent outcome.

To all those still hoping for some movement, hope it happens soon. I'm going to try and get another sweep done this morning, curry tonight - even considering sex later (desperate I know!) If all else fails, I'm going to dig out my best knickers tomorrow, on the grounds that I'm bound to get mucus/waters all over them. I'll let you know if it works.

DashingRedhead · 27/10/2006 10:21

Congratulations GirlyGale and good luck Lisamarv.

EmilyT - that sounds really painful. Perhaps you should try taking some ordinary level arnica to get the bruising up and down quickly. Falling when you're pregnant is such a shock.

Still nothing here, but I'm hoping something will happen over the weekend. At least DH is working from home today, so I won't have the 2-hour wait for him to get home if anything does start.

amyjade · 27/10/2006 10:35

purpleluce · 27/10/2006 12:08

Hi there 39+5 here and still reasonably patient (relative to first!) Had reflexology this am and reflexologist said things were looking positive so fingers crossed. Booked another session for next week anyway...try to work sods law to my advantage.

No period pains but lots of BH's, that's it. However was thinking it is a good time of year to have a birthday, clocks go back - fantastic when you are a teenager going out for your birthday - get an extra hour (will they count it for those of us in labour on Sat night
some of the labours that have hapenned recently could finish before they start if that happenned Or you have the Halloween option... good for fancy dress parties and of course bonfire night, fireworks on your birthday.... and they may get some of us started too!

wuzzlefraggle · 27/10/2006 12:11

congrats girly!!!

just to update:

from 6:30am till 9:30am i was having very uncomfortable period pains, every 10 minutes apart. then i fell asleep for an hour and ever since i woke up at about 10:30, they have been every 8 to 10 minutes. also have a hell of a lot of pressure on my pelvis (and bum a little bit)

fingers crossed that im starting off ladies!!

i'll update a little later on aswell. xox

BENDYB · 27/10/2006 12:17

how exciting wuzz! hopefully this is it! Make sure u let us no!

wuzzlefraggle · 27/10/2006 12:59

still getting them every 8 to 10 minutes or so. the only way i can describe what im getting is like very uncomfortable dragging period pains.

keep everything crossed for me bendy

BENDYB · 27/10/2006 13:24

yep i am keeping everythin crossed!
I'm gonna b on ere all day now 2 keep checkin if anythin else has happened, I'm really excited 4 u! & only a bit jealous lol!

clon · 27/10/2006 14:46

Congatulations girlgale, fast and furious sounds good to me! Love the name Megan, that's what we are going to call our little girl when the minx finally shows herself. My dh said he didn't think he'd be saying 'and what time do you call this' at this early stage of parenthood!!

Had my 41 week appt this morning, went for a sweep and everything still clamped shut! I was offered an induction for 41+3 or 42 so I've opted for 42 and am booked in for next Thursday. I will be trying alsorts before then to start things off naturally.

Dogmum I've been worrying like you too, I didn't even think about the prospect of induction let alone a c-section and now it all seems to real a possibility.

My parents have to leave tomorrow so a real shame our daughter is being so stubborn, they have been great to have around, they will come back after their hols.

Anyway good luck to all for hoping for October babies!

wuzzlefraggle · 27/10/2006 14:54

clon,im sending you natural labour vibes

well, had a bath, which didnt stop the period pains and tumy tightenings, but it did ease them a little. just got out and they are still there (woohoo!)

im not in huge amounts of pain or anything, they are just nasty, regular period pains...does that sound about right for very early stages of possible labour??

youngmum21 · 27/10/2006 15:04

wow wuzzle you go girl hopefully this is it for you!!! im so excited for you!!!

Well ive just walked round for the last 2hours hoping it mite encourage this lo to come out, just in lots of pain at the min from the walking it killed me lol!!! xx

FoghornLeghorn · 27/10/2006 15:10

Sorry to intrude, am from the due in November thread.
Wuzzle, it certainly does sound like things could be getting going. A bath is usually one of those things that make the pain go one way or the other so considering you've had a bath and are still experiencing the period type pains, I'd say thats a good sign.

Fingers crossed for all you ladies still waiting - we've had 3 babies on the November thread now so must be very very frustrating for you

wuzzlefraggle · 27/10/2006 15:14

youngmum - im sending you labour vibes lol

foghorn - 3 babies already! i chat regularly to one of the posters on your november thread (nataliejane). all my best to all the ladies over there on your thread!

i keep thinking that the pains should be more fierce...there must be something wrong with me...im actually wishing pain on myself lol

youngmum21 · 27/10/2006 15:19

im sure they will get worse so take it easy dont wish yourself to much pain to early lol!!!
Thanks for the labour vibes

Popsi · 27/10/2006 15:21

congratulations girlygale - is good to hear a sweep working so well - although who knows whether it would have all kicked off then anyway.
Wuzzle - sounds like you are on your way.
Hope I'm not the last - reckon it will be me bendyb & youngmum seeing how far into november we last!

youngmum21 · 27/10/2006 15:26

popsi i think you mite be rite about it being us 3 last as much as i dont want to admit that but i still got my fingers crossed that she will cone on sunday xx

marthahm · 27/10/2006 15:30

hi everyone, feels like a century since monday when went off for induction.
Hope Elizabeth was born at 12.56am on wednesday 25th october weighing 8lbs. nasty nasty induction but lovely lovely lovely epidural at the end . ladies, i cannot recommend it highly enough. will post detail on birth anouncement so don't scare those of you who haven't given birth.
can say though that once she was born i didn't care about all the stuff before. she is wonderful. feeding is really tough but we're beginning to get the hang of it and milk coming in today so it's interesting.
congratulations girlygale, gingeme, mmmchocolate, chubzki, nicand2 and tigerlion.
must get some sleep now while she does.
hope you're going well wuzzle, am thinking of you
