Hope this works and that this thread sees the arrival of lots of wonderful little babies!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nicand2 · 03/10/2006 14:03

Youngmum21 - No I still wouldn't worry, I'm sure you would have been referred for a scan if your mw was concenrned. I can't tell you how many people I've spoken to who didn't measure correctly and then had big/normal size babies. TBH it seems like a really odd way to do things I mean a centimetre is nothing. I measure just about right this time but I know I had a really flabby baby belly so that must be included in the measurement they take??

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 14:06

Thanks Nicand2 feel much better now!!

totallyfloaty35 · 03/10/2006 14:41

Dont worry about measurements, from 36wks everything drops so measurements no longer correct according to my Mw.Been having braxtons roughly every 15mins for last 3days and am thoroughly fed up with it,wish things would either start properly or stop completely am fed up of walking like John Wayne.
On a lighter note DH been wonderful,he doing all cooking, cleaning house from top to bottom(nesting instinct must have hit him instead)and looking after other kids too.To ladies with unsupportive partners i really feel for you, tell them how you feel or failing that pack a rucksack with 35lbs of books and tell them to strap it on 24hrs a day and see how much energy they got left to function as usual.

BENDYB · 03/10/2006 14:48

afternoon every1, i've sorted out my birth plan now & feel much better now its done! Thanks again dogmum, so much more helpfull than my midwife!!!

hope every1 enjoyed the meetup!

nowanearlyNicemum · 03/10/2006 14:55

hi,
haven't had the energy to post since yesterday. dd would NOT go to bed last night. was so totally exhausted I just let her stay up with me and then she went to bed at 10pm when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. she still went mad when I put her in her bed and I finally succeeded in getting her off shortly before 11pm by leaving her door open and the light on in the corridor. She woke again at 5am ish and took about half an hour to go off. She refused to eat her lunch and she STILL wouldn't go down for a nap this afternoon. My neighbour has just come in to take her off my hands for an hour or so; Just thought I'd catch up with your news before heading bedwards!!

Still no 'real' OCtober babies then??????

emzickle · 03/10/2006 15:58

Ooooh Pmoore - does your due date seem to be rather disapointing?

pmoore · 03/10/2006 16:29

Yes it definitely does I am so fed up today. Got consultant on Thursday, any ideas if it is possible to be induced on request? There can't be a lot of room left now for this little one.

Must try and get out for a walk I think all this staying in is driving me slowly mad! Its ok going out to be social but the question 'haven't you had that yet?' is soooooooo aggravating, anyone else suffering that?

emzickle · 03/10/2006 16:32

been getting the question for months. i really must look like a house.

pmoore i know its no conselation, being so uncomfy etc but you really should just relax and chill - it will be all systems go before you know it.

on that note however, i want my baby out now - what can I try?

pmoore · 03/10/2006 16:55

emzickle- I tried eveything from about week 37 to get baby to make an appearance- I think maybe if we don't think about making it happen it will!

So lets all agree to relax, enjoy our last few days/weeks of freedom (first timers) I admire all those that go thru pregnancy looking after other children as well- sure I will some day.

emzickle · 03/10/2006 17:02

well, since this mornign ive not been having regular pains, but it feels like it used to when my period was coming... what does that mean do u think?

mamado · 03/10/2006 17:15

sorry that everyone is still waiting around. All I can say is that you WILL know when labour has started! Also the full-moon is this sat [7th] and apparently labour wards really fill up on full moons so you never know!

Good luck everyone x

majormoo · 03/10/2006 17:43

Post from Sallyrosie on the other thread:

'WELL - after my last post on Sunday afternoon my contractions got stronger and stronger. Woke up DH to say I was in labour at three, went in the bath and then went to hospital at five. 5cm dilated when I got there, used the gas and air, waters broke at seven and baby born at 10 past seven! All hell broke loose at the end because his shoulders wouldn't come out but I was out of it on gas/air at this point and don't remember much - MW and two docs rolled me onto my back and pushed about a bit and out he came. Needed a bit of oxygen cos he'd been a bit shocked by it all but was fine. He was 9lb 5oz and amazingly I haven't torn!
We've named him Edward, and he is just absolutely GORGEOUS. Just got home this afternoon - he's been jaundiced so needed his bloods checking - and he's feeding well although my boobs are SORE - I'd forgotten how much hard work starting BFing is.
Going to go and cuddle him now, hope you're all well

sallyrosie xxx'

Sounds like Rumpel is in labour as well. Exciting the October babies are starting to put in appearances!

BENDYB · 03/10/2006 17:51

how exciting! congrats sallyrosie & well done!!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 17:53

cogratulations sally

MrsBlobby · 03/10/2006 18:06

Hope everyone had a good meetup today. Sorry I couldn't make it. Just not been feeling myself lately. Had a weird 'turn' on Saturday evening when I got loads of BHs in a row then went all cold and shivery. DH rushed and helped me to bed (was very sweet, actually - boded well for the real thing!), but then all calmed down. Has just left me really tired and listless. Just trying to take it easy now...

nicand2 · 03/10/2006 18:14

Congratulations Sallyrosie!!

It is getting exciting now all the babies are finally arriving. Slightly annoyed that it's not me posting my birth announcement!!

Swizzler · 03/10/2006 18:51

Hope you feel better soon MrsBlobby. Definitely take it easy.

Great to see some of you this afternoon - and no-one said 'haven't you had that baby yet?' . Comfy sofas, bump-comparing and a good chat. I'm knackered after my trip to John Lewis, though. Last time I'm heading into central London before this baby arrives.

Good to meet you as well Agnes - hope you're happy posting on the board now you can see we're (fairly) normal!

Congratulations to Sallyrosie and hoping Rumpel's labour is well on the way. Best of luck to anyone else in those early stages

nowanearlyNicemum · 03/10/2006 20:13

wahey - an October baby!!! congratulations SallyRosie So Edward was born on the 2nd? same birthday as dp - bound to be a lovely bloke!!

sorry to hear you've been feeling wobbly Mrs Blobby. look after yourself. sounds like dad to be is doing a grand job.

gutted not to have been able to join you for your meet up today. tea, cake and your company would have been just what the dr ordered for me I think. Instead, I've got dd (currently known as devil spawn) who STILL will not got to bed and is screaming the place down. I'm sure the neighbours think I'm strangling her. I can't stop blubbing, have no idea WHAT is wrong with her and generally feel like a really sh*t mother for not being able to sort things out.

tell me more about yummy, gorgeous smelling newborns and remind me this is all worthwhile...

Gingeme · 03/10/2006 21:28

Congratulations Sallyrosie. Well done with baby Edward. Thats the name we have chosen.
LOvely to meet you all this afternoon. Realy enjoyed myself. It was very relaxing. I got home and fell asleep for an hour and a half Dh took ds to his MUms for an hour to give me some peace. LOve him.
Went out for dinner too. I had a yummy sausage and mash with onion gravy. Sooooo nice not to have to cook.
Cant wait to hear how Rumpels doing too.
Well time for Supernanny and Eastenders at 10 then off to bed. Night all xx
