BENDYB · 02/10/2006 17:23

found it! Good name!
hope every1s ok! x

youngmum21 · 02/10/2006 17:30

dont think anoy one can miss this thread lol x

majormoo · 02/10/2006 18:23

thanks Tigerlion. Good luck-sounds like things are moving for you.
Nowanearlynicemum-you have my sympathies. The little darlings can drive you bonkers when you are tired/emotional etc! Hard when your DH is away. Hope both you and DD get some sleep tonight. Thank goodness for the Cbeebies bedtime hour in my case!
Emzickle-think sometimes they do just disengage. MY DD was 3/5 engaged at 37 weeks but was two weeks late, so it doesn't necessarily mean much anyway.
Bronze-your baby was very early-what happened? Hope she/he is thriving now.

mamado · 02/10/2006 18:33

Glad you started a new thread Tigerlion, the last one was getting far too long! Hope everyone is feeling ok [considering!] and these babies start appearing safely and soundly!
I had a bit of a shock today - was just leaving music class with dd and managed to fall off the last step and kind of strain my ankle and also gain lots of lovely bruises! Luckily bump was ok, but poor dd looked quite upset and there were certainly some worried looks from other mums/nannies at the thought I might just go into labour there and then! Just hope I can move around a bit better in time for the birth or it won't be so active after all!

Swizzler · 02/10/2006 19:09

Poor you Mamado. Maybe a strong hint to out your feet up?

NNNM: must be so hard being heavily pg, with toddler and without any help. Do whatever you can to get through the next few days.

Thanks for the new thread Tigerlion. Off back to the old one to check directions for meet-up tomorrow...

Swizzler · 02/10/2006 19:12

OK, for anyone else who's forgotten, it's in the Starbucks at the corner of Old Broad Street and London Wall at 11:30. In the basement, where there are rumoured to be comfy sofas. From experience of comfy pub armchairs the othe day, they're great but murder to get out of.

DH took over my perogative of an afternoon nap today - I think the strain is beginning to tell on him as well

Gingeme · 02/10/2006 19:55

Wow Im getting good at this finding new thread lark. Looking forward to tomm. Tigerlion sounds like things are realy going now.Guess this means we wont be seeing you tomm then! Were all definately feeling the strain now arent we? I just feel so exhausted all the time wether I sleep wellish or not. And all day today Ive felt soooooooooo hungry. Feel like Ive done nothinf but eat.
Put a bin liner on my bed yesterday. I did this last time just in case my waters break in bed. They didnt thank goodness.
Oh well see some of you tommorrow. Going to bath my snotty ds now. xxxx

joalbob · 02/10/2006 20:16

as the pineapple doesn't work on a 42 week baby maybe choc mini rolls will..i've just eaten a whole tubful..is this sicky feeling a massive sugar rush? or the start of labour?? sweep meant contractions a bit fiercer dreading going to bed in case things actually do begin..

girlygale1 · 02/10/2006 21:15

nnnm - you have my complete sympathies (is that how you spell it?) dd really gets the wrath of emotionally knackered mummy these days - 4 times I screamed at her to go back to her bed the other day as she was knackered but just wouldn't give in, and all I wanted was an hour ... just an hour to have a nap. Eventually got it, but felt awful after - as you say when they are asleep, butter wouldn't melt.

Feeling a complete inadequate mother for not spending enough time with her, so made a point of not hoovering today and played with the playdoh, that was nice. She is a different child when I have acctually bothered to sit and do stuff with her!

dh gets it too - especially when we discuss anything to do with his ex. !

Woke up with period pains last night - all excited, but knew deep down that it wasn't it - well didn't feel like it did the first time! And ... yep still here fat and fed up.

Did have a chuckle last night as we put the 'incontinence' sheet on our bed in case my waters break in the night ... oh the indignity of it all!!!!!!!!

Hope you are feeling better nnnm - you are not alone xx

Gemmitygem · 03/10/2006 08:33

Gingeme · 03/10/2006 09:08

majormoo enjoy your lunch.
Just been on the old thread. Looks like things are happening for Rumpel. Shes been getting conrtactions since 4am! Hope she goes well. xx

clon · 03/10/2006 09:28

I'm here gingeme I'm here!

The builders have been switching the electricity on and off the last few days so it's been difficult to post, all going well though, their last day tomorrow YAY!!! I'll then be on a cleaning and sleeping frenzy!

I'm just going to check the train times now, see you at Starbucks!

DogMum · 03/10/2006 09:58

Found the new thread. Love the name. Didn't manage to login all weekend - tidying up, baking to freeze ahead, putting cot up - so sorry if this gets a bit long.

Milliee, on the finances I'd just add that you need to register for child benefit in YOUR name. That way you get your national insurance contributions paid so you don't have a gap in your state pension entitlement.

bendyb, youngmum, I've printed my birth plan and put it in my notes. (But I'm about to update it - again.) It just about fits on one page. A few lines sounds a bit short, but if you're happy everything's covered so be it. As well as your ideal scenario, have you considered what you would want to do if things don't go exactly to plan? eg. you might want more pain relief if you have a back labour. If (god forbid), you need a caesarian to get the baby out, do you want to be awake/see the birth/breastfeed asap? How about the baby? Do you want to hold the baby skin-to-skin? Do you want the baby to have vitamin K? Our antenatal teacher has encouraged us to think of the birth plan as a wish list rather than a plan. Also include phone numbers for your birth partners in case you have to be in hospital on your own to start with (unlikely but you never know.)

Sounds as though it's all happening for Rumpel. How exciting.

Having spent yesterday freezing ahead, I'm going for fattening and unhealthy in Starbucks.

BENDYB · 03/10/2006 10:16

morning every1!
thanks dogmum thats really helpfull! I'm gonna do it 2day, all the midwife said 2 me was 'what pain relief do u want?' 'do u want the baby to go straight to you?' 'do u want an injection 4 the placenta?' & 'do u want the baby to have vit k?'(which i knew nothing about really, instead of explaining it to me she just gave me a leaflet to read!) So i'm gonna write it out properly 2day & put in all that u just mentioned! thankyou.

pmoore · 03/10/2006 10:45

Morning every1,

Hope you all enjoy starbucks. Today is my due date-any signs- no such luck!

I've not got a birth plan written. My plan is go with the flow. I have got the answers in my head certain things-not completely disorganised!

Good new thread- definitely fat and fed up.

Take Care all.

morning everyone,

Thanks dogmum i just been to see midwife and she going to come and do a home visit on the 18th so we can go thru my birth plan as i still have no idea wot to put in mine lol!!!
Babies head has started to engage i think it wud be bout 2/5 from wot she was saying but im a bit concerned as she measured me and still only 34cm even though im 36+2 can anyone put my mind to rest!!!!

Sorry post is so long but as a first timer i dont know if this is normal!!!!

emzickle · 03/10/2006 12:23

Hello All.

My DP suggested at the weekend that his parents come over some time this week - for some thing simple to eat.

Turns out they are coming tonight (I was informed by MIL at 9am) and they didn't mind what we ate, but FIL fancies a ROAST DINNER!

Is it just me? But FFS I'm 39 weeks, HUGE - why should I have to cook them a huge meal, just so I can wash up afterwards, watch my feet swell up and eat late, then get intergestion all night.

I feel really angry, so Ive made SpagBolognaise, and then I can just chuck pasta in when they arrive. Grrrrrrr It's made me feel really annoyed that Im expected to keep them happy, especially when recently DP hasnt given a flying forest of monkeys as to how I am at all, let alone whats going on in my family. Feel like slapping him or crying, cant decide which. Crap.

nicand2 · 03/10/2006 12:55

Youngmum21 - I measured 2 weeks less all through my last pregnancy I had a scan to check the baby 6 weeks before my due date and all was fine. I ended up giving birth to an 8lb12 boy and the mw laughed when she read on my notes that I'd had a scan to query small for dates. As I was lying there being stitched she asked 'does that seem funny now'??? - yes hilarious!!

At the time of the scan they said it was because it was my first and my tummy muscles were strong, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I actually woke up feeling excited for the first time today. I think it was at the thought that I will soon have another baby and this gruelling pregnancy will soon be over after all it is October now!! wow that must be the first time I haven't moaned!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:09

nicand2- well i was measuring correctly at 34 weeks so shud i still not worry bout it sorry to be a pain just this my first pregnancy !!!

emzickle · 03/10/2006 13:50

i have a confession - after reading one of the other threads on the pregnancy board, I had a quick feel - and I can feel the baby's head too.

i now feel slightly perverted, plus... freaked out, that some thing that big is going to be coming out soon

cripes.

am i disturbed?

Tigerlion · 03/10/2006 13:54

Still resting with cramps. M/w said it started as though it was the start of labour and it could take hours or days. Feel like I have a huge sack of potatoes attached to me and they move everytime that I move. I am really wishing for pain at the moment so that I know that my contractions are properly starting!

Poor DS keeps on bringing me toys and he does not understand why I do not want to play with him, poor little boy.

Hope all is going well for Rumpel.

Hope you had a good meet up in Starbucks and that you stuffed your faces with plenty of cakes etc!

Good luck to everyone with all the waiting...
