How many weeks will you be tiny?

I was planning on working up to 37 weeks but im now doubting ill make it that long so think ill move it forward a week.

Ive done the playroom and have decided thats it for today im having a rest so ive got the energy to do some Christmas crafts with the kids after school.

TinyTear · 08/12/2014 13:35

36 if I stop on the 14th March or 37 if the week after. I am due 11th April but as I want an ELCS it will be earlier

I'm planning to stop working when I'm 38 weeks pregnant. I'm hoping to have a year off and then return part time - 3 days per week. But there could be problems in work accepting my part time hours which will be a big dilemma. Nursery costs around here is £85/ day. I will spend a combined total of £106 per day for childcare for both DS & Bunny.... It hardly seems worth going back to work :(

LIG1979 · 08/12/2014 16:41

Ouch to those costs London. Hopefully in the long term it will be worth returning to work. Can you do long days to help with the costs? I do 5 in 4 which means that I take home the same salary but only pay for 3 days childcare (dh does the other day.)

I intend to work till 36/37 weeks. Last time I stopped at 37+1 mostly for social reasons and could have worked up till dd was born -although I did get bad nappy brain towards the end but think that was more me winding down. But I have an office job, that is 20 mins drive and my bump was very small with dd so I was very mobile up to the end. This time I am determined to have some rest as my short maternity leave was incredibly busy with the intention that I would relax when I got closer to my due date. Will also not go so far as it was only luck that a pregnant friend cancelled on a trip to London that dd wasn't born up there. Had ignored the advice about traveling and been to quite a few places in the week before that were an hour plus from the hospital without my notes too. I thought I had ages till she was born! This time I intend to sleep and watch TV all day and relax lots.Â

Smiling -your family do work you hard. Is it normal to be expected to help out at school whilst your charges are at school?

Tiny - that sounds like a lovely idea for your dd. Mine has never been to the theatre but she is getting to the age she would enjoy it.

Just in bed napping after a trip to the farm and to see santa. We are having a mini work break and tomorrow is date day with dh whilst dd is at nursery. Going to the cinema, Christmas shopping and for lunch. It is a bit unusual for us to have so many date days in such close sucession but nice as we don't get much couple time now.

LittleBairn · 08/12/2014 18:23

London at those costs you would be cheaper with a nanny. If you did a nanny share you could almost half that bill.
Nannies can also use childcare vouchers if your eligible.

So DH has forgot my injection tonight I'm tempted not to remind him.
Cervix scan tomorrow can't wait I want to know how the stitch is holding up. If I go quite that's because I'm hanging like a bst in hospital with no wi-Fi signal. No Internet for weeks months even I would probably have a breakdown!

LittleBairn · 08/12/2014 18:24

Like a bat I meant.

LittleBairn · 08/12/2014 18:26

Amd I meant quiet. Blush baby brain.

LIG1979 · 08/12/2014 18:26

I hope it goes well tomorrow little. not long till v day now.

LittleBairn · 08/12/2014 18:52

Thanks LIG its not at midnight its 19 days. Not that I'm counting the hours too...

TinyTear · 08/12/2014 19:31

Little, hope all goes well tomorrow.

I found my hospital has shit signal in the antenatal appointments bit but OK on the wards...

OP posts:
Shetland · 08/12/2014 19:37

My hospital has shit signal all over really. After Dd2 was born I was in for nearly 7 hours with a sleepy baby and no internet. This time I shall remember to put a book in just in case.

I shall be working to 37 or 38 weeks depending on a course date that should be confirmed in the next couple of weeks.

lila35 · 08/12/2014 20:05

Hope all is well tomorrow little.

I'm hoping to work till around 38 weeks, as long as I can still drive comfortably and work comfortably enough ( could be a struggle reaching clients if I get huge at the end!) But I am playing it by ear, at least its one of the benefits of working for myself. Downside being only stat mat allowance to see me through....

Really struggling with my back by around mid afternoon through the rest of the day, thatand needing to sleep by around 830/9...I'm pooped!!

Glad everyones doing ok, we're doing good!!

23+3!!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 08/12/2014 21:08

Good luck tomorrow little

I think because im taking the baby to work with me I dont have the need to save as much mat leave for after because I dont have to leave him, but I desperately want to put my feet up and rest a bit before hes born if that makes any sense, im just so tired and everywhere aches that the thought of weeks and weeks of 5.30am starts just makes me want to cry. Ive only just had dinner as I dont get in till 7.30/45 depending on if my boss gets home on time. Im usually full of energy, ive got horses so am pretty active but pregnancy has wiped me out.

not that id change any of it, im just having a bit of a poor me day, sorry Blush

chiliplant · 08/12/2014 22:26

I'm leaving incredibly early..at the end of Jan which is ridiculously early but my boss is really horrible and I always feel really vulnerable.
Its one of those situations where if I was pregnant I would have left.
My job is also incredibly active and stressful so that doesn't help. Please don't judge me!!! ??

tannyLoo · 09/12/2014 04:39

I desperately need to sort out mat pay and mortgage holiday, but still burying my head in the sand a bit as money causes me such anxiety! I am an agency worker at the moment, so will only get stat mat allowance and the annual leave I'm accruing. I wanted to work up to 38 weeks just to have as much after as possible, but I'm already knackered and getting stressed about my workload. I want to reduce my hours down to four days, but worry about the impact on my salary, which doesn't quite cover everything as it is.

You would have thought a mother's right to mat leave without enormous stress about money would be sorted by now...

Little hope you have good news on the stitch today, and can start to share your good news.

Another milestone reached - 28 weeks today!

TinyTear · 09/12/2014 07:04

Hooray for 28 Tanny!!

No judgement from me chili if I could finish at christmas I would.

Great milestone tanny Xmas Grin

TinyTear · 09/12/2014 08:22

no judging either... i am only going on so long because of money so i can save more and stay away later...

my work is a great job but only give SMP... so 6 weeks at 90% and then 132 a week or however much it is...

OP posts:
LittleBairn · 09/12/2014 08:56

Thanks everyone.

Tiny the part if the hospital the wards are (90%of its been rebuilt) is frm the 60s so absolutely no signal. I've got two iPads so I'm not ompletely bored just dont think I can handle weeks of no Internet.

smiling your doing amazing. That's very similar hours to my old job due to long commute I just couldn't manage it.

chili no judgement from me I gave notice at 10 weeks!

tanny you have my sympathy my mum did agency work for years (only got permant position last week) its so stressful.
Yay to 28 weeks!

Feeling a little nervous but I haven't really had any pain so hopefully no shortening. Just organising my hospital bag just incase.

21+2

TinyTear · 09/12/2014 09:09

Good luck Little - prepare for the worst and hope for the best... so good to have the hospital bag with you...

My hospital is from the 70s but as the antenatal ward is on the 5th floor it gets signal - the appointment bit is on the groundfloor so no signal there...

looking forward to a good update x
