Thanks cinnamon - very detailed!

Today is the first day eating isn't putting a stop to the nausea, feeling pretty gross this evening. Hope you feel better soon Lauren and daholster.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/09/2014 20:51

I've had two really bad days BananaToast and I was feeling much better the last week or two so I'm quite disappointed. Perhaps it's the change in pressure as its got cold and wet here or maybe it's totally random!

Hello All! The scan went well on Wednesday - 12 weeks on the nose! :0) Have a picture of a hand everyone, cos that was the bit that struck me as particularly amazing, for some reason (That’s in the few moments when i wasn’t too busy worrying I was going to wet myself while the sonographer jiggled the scanner around on my belly trying to get an obviously very comfy Peanut to move!!)

Big Congrats on your approaching girl Minipie, and glad the scan went well chili! :0D

Welcome MissV. I know what you mean about the nausea getting worse when you’re worried.

Hmm, I was trying to counsel myself through the height of my worries a few days ago, and found that flipping things on their head helped. By that, I mean that I realised that I don’t walk around obsessively expecting to win £500 every time I buy a scratchcard, so why should I particularly expect to the be singled out for bad news, either?

Anyway, i found this thought helped me a bit, so I hope it works for someone else too.

PS: Here's a quick Lemsip Substitute for all the developing colds (mine included!): Squeeze some fresh lemon juice and a good load of honey into some very hot water. Grate some fresh ginger in and add a few chilli flakes. Stir, add a bit of cold water to taste. That should bring a glow to yer face! Grin

You could probably add a tiny amount of brandy or whisky to this too, if you really wanted it (bleurgh!).

Rustyzilla · 25/09/2014 23:35

misty I am a total amateur button first instinct on seeing your scan pic was girl. Skull looks quite round to me which I though was girl as opposed to flat for a boy?

Scan in the morning. I am both excited and nervous, which I wasn't expecting!

Rustyzilla · 25/09/2014 23:35

But on not button!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2014 07:26

Great news Nunkie! And love the tiny hand :)

Look forward to seeing your pic tomorrow Rustyzilla :)

Quick question, are any of you paying for your scan pics? I didn't with my ds's and I'm going to the same hospital but this time it's £3 per pic.

Lovely to see the scan's happening!!!

We had to pay for scan pics cinnamon, £5 for 2 although she gave us 3!

RiverRocks · 26/09/2014 07:53

Morning all, feel very rough today. And as my books say now I'm out of the first trimester I should be feeling better, I'm not very impressed.

cinnamon we got our pic free this time, and at the early scan in dup, but have to pay at the 20 week scan. We only got 1 print though and couldn't choose. DH says there were better images.

Good luck this morning Rusty, looking forward to seeing your scan later Grin

RiverRocks · 26/09/2014 07:55

*epu, not dup! Garr. First time I've ever missed one! That's what I get for posting this early on no sleep!

daholster · 26/09/2014 08:15

River hope you feel better soon!

Rusty I wondered about that but when I looked at the eye sockets it does slope back a little from directly above which made me lean towards boy... But nub looks girly... Any other thoughts? Maybe it is a girl... Either is lovely Smile

Nunkie I love that picture! So cute!!!

Cinnamon our scan pictures will be 5 pounds per picture!!!

I have the dryest mouth and throat in the world this morning. Dd woke crying at mid ught and 12.30, up at 6.15 for getting her ready for nursery and currently I'm on a train into London for a course. I hope I can stay awake! Driving across to my mum's tonight, an hour and a half, so they can look after dd while I revise, then celebrate mum's birthday on Sunday. It will be strange going across for the first time since grandma died but I think it will be a lovely weekend and probably just what my mum needs.

Have a good day everyone!

daholster · 26/09/2014 08:17

Ooh, 11 weeks today! Grin

Rustyzilla · 26/09/2014 08:29

Thanks for well wishes! Hope to be back later with scan pic!

We have been told to take £5 for a scan picture, so I'm assuming we'll only get 1.

Now to have my final wee before drinking a litre of water...! Shock

BananaToast · 26/09/2014 09:08

Ugh after a week of no bleeding whatsoever I've woken up to spotting again. Why?!!

Off to hosp soon for my booking appointment so will mention to midwife. Also want her opinion on the bleeding I had two weeks ago as I passed a clot and a little worry is still lingering about that. I can't wait til I'm at the point where I can feel movement, think it will calm me right down.

HippoPottyMouth · 26/09/2014 09:39

Good luck Rusty, I'm on my way to my scan too. Feeling very nervous!

10+1 (yay for double figures!)

HippoPottyMouth · 26/09/2014 09:43

Banana that sucks Sad but you had a scan after the clot didn't you?

MissV84 · 26/09/2014 09:50

Congrats nunkie very beautiful! and good luck everyone on route to scan - I'm 45 mins early for mine... Oops! Very nervous... And terrible metal mouth today :/ grim

Banana hope youre ok and that the midwife is able to reassure you - can you request early scan? Lots of luck to you

BananaToast · 26/09/2014 09:51

Oh good luck Hippo and Rusty.

No I didn't, I had one the day before after some red bleeding, but didn't go back after the clot because I had literally seen everything was fine the day before and didn't want to look silly going back so soon. And the bleeding was much lighter after and stopped a couple of days later so I thought it was probably ok. Two weeks on and still a bit worried!

Siarie · 26/09/2014 10:12

Feeling better today apart from the headache, well it's like pressure. Kind of like sinus pressure but also over my skull! I think it's normal at this time.

I've now lost 9lbs in weight, I suppose I will at least be smaller for when I start getting bigger (hopefully). I wanted to lose like 15lbs to get down to my favourite weight but I wasn't expecting to do that while pregnant!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2014 11:24

Hope the midwife manages to reassure you BananaToast!

Enjoy your scan MissV84, I think you should be done by now :)

Hope your litre stayed put Rustyzilla!

Phew, scan done and all looking good. Now thinking "Aagh I'm having a baby!"

Sadly I am back out of double figures as I lost a couple of days when they measured, so am now 9+6, this means I have to go back on Tuesday for another scan (shame!) and for the harmony blood test then as it is just that bit too early now.

Hope everyone else's scan goes well!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2014 12:17

Good news HippoPottyMouth :)

BananaToast · 26/09/2014 12:29

Great news Hippo and snap - same dates! I told the midwife about everything that's been going on and she looked quite concerned (which didn't help my anxiety!) and said I should probably get checked out. I managed to squeeze in the end of the morning EPU session and get a scan and everything looked perfect. Baby looking like a baby now instead of a blob, and measuring 9+6, a day ahead of what I thought. And it was moving its hands and feet which was very exciting to see! So I now feel much better about everything, roll on the 12 week scan in 2 weeks!

Rustyzilla · 26/09/2014 13:20

Good news hippo and banana! Smile

Everything fine here too, phew! I have one wriggly, fidgety little monkey in there! Had to have internal and usual scan because baby wouldn't stop moving and sonographer was struggling to get neck measurement. Such a relief! Had to be sent out to wee twice as my bladder was like a balloon! Blush
