My four have all known from early on that we are pregnant because I spent a night in hospital and dd1 guessed. They know it will be a long time before the baby comes but are all excited by the prospect.

Hope everyone is well this evening.

RiverRocks · 03/09/2014 21:21

I bought a Doppler too, but wasn't brave enough to try it before we went away. I'll be 12 weeks when we get back so more chance of finding it. Or I might wait the 4 days for my scan Grin

mswibble · 03/09/2014 21:31

Chickenme - I am suffering terribly with my skin. My body is super dry and flaky, my face is ridiculously oily and I have dandruff for the first time in about ten years. Attractive!

Im going to try and drink lots more water and maybe switch my skincare products up. Im usually crap at using body butters and stuff but I think it definitely needs to be used now. Flaky wrists and arms are not a good look!

BrixtonBunny · 03/09/2014 21:38

Hi all, sorry for radio silence - have been trying to follow along, but feel so destroyed by the exhaustion and sickness that by the time I've struggled through work all day and got home all I can bear to do is collapse on the sofa whilst DP tried to cook me something I can eat. Even looking too much at my phone has felt like a chore... Hmm

I am feeling so sorry for myself feeling sick all day, and I am in awe of all you superheroes who are going through this with DCs, be it one or more! You ladies really are amazing - I can't even look after myself at the moment, DP is doing everything. Poor man.

Hope everyone is well and coping, I keep trying to tell myself that these weeks are the hard ones.

To someone asking about skin - yes! My eczema is so bad at the moment, I'm so itchy. Angry Does anyone know if there are steroid creams that are safe to use during pg?

I'm 8+5 today, I have my booking in appt a week on Friday, and have my 12 week scan in just under 4 weeks Blush Still so long to wait!

Xxx

MrsS010814 · 03/09/2014 21:38

I can't believe how tired I am. I seem to wake at about 5 everyday then need a nap about 9 and then fall asleep in the evening, been asleep for past few hours and could just go straight to bed now! Only reason I haven't is that I need to make the bed and I have no energy to be bothered!! Is anyone else feeling tired too? I'm working 12 hour day tomorrow, not sure how I'll be able to stay awake!

MrsS010814 · 03/09/2014 21:40

Posted at the same time Brixton- that is exactly how I feel! Hopefully won't last much longer

BrixtonBunny · 03/09/2014 21:43

Fx mrsS! Still, hoping tiredness is a sign that our bodies are hard at work growing out little beans x

Lindalove · 03/09/2014 21:47

I think skin issues are probably more due to hormones? You might need a different skin care regime. I've bought a new skin serum to try & brighten mine up a bit - I do look a bit tired & drawn at the mo but hoping that will change at 12 weeks...

MrsS010814 · 03/09/2014 21:49

It has it's positives, DH hoovered and cooked tea whilst I lounged on sofa feeling sorry for myself! I can't get my head around how something so tiny can zap so much energy.

LadyNovember · 03/09/2014 21:50

I'm the opposite, my face is so greasy and spotty..I look like a heroin addict Angry

And yeah, my scalp is flaky too wibble...yum.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/09/2014 22:00

I didn't notice the thread finishing but tried to post and it wouldn't let me so took a chance and started a new one!

Sorry to hear about all the tiredness and sickness. I'm not as tired as I was but was quite sick this morning and have low level nausea most of the day which makes me grumpy. I think you get on because you have to BrixtonBunny and you will with no2 as well Wink

You guys are tempting me into a Doppler now, just told dh and he said ooo that sounds good!

Had a lovely meal, no stuffed with dh asleep on me. My poor mum had to clean up after the dog when she came to put the boys to bed :( (they had tea at hers first).

Forgot to say I think she can still be supportive to you as a mum as well as having her own baby Rhiannon85 but I can see it's a lot to get your head around! Does your mum know you're trying?

littleluna89 · 03/09/2014 23:05

I have to admit Rhiannon I would find it a little awkward if my mum announced that she and dad were trying for another baby, especially as my sister and I are both adults so they're finally in a position where they can do whatever they want whenever they want, I can't see them wanting to give that up, but we could baby sit for one another which would be cool.

I'm no expert but can't listen to it Misty414 as it requires flash and I'm on my phone.

Chicken - I've got quite dry skin usually, but my lips have gone really dry! I'm using Vaseline lip gloss in copious amounts, which seems to be doing the trick.

Brixton and MrsS - sorry to hear you're having such a rough time - I hope you get through this patch and have some more energy soon.

I made the massive mistake yesterday of buying a wrap which claimed to be hummus and carrot but was in fact largely composed of raw red onion... cue heartburn and burping late into the night. Won't be making that mistake again!

BananaToast · 04/09/2014 07:53

Annia I had some pizza last night which I usually love but could only taste then onion on it, it was horrible! Will be avoiding oniony food from now on I think.

kismac · 04/09/2014 08:27

Hello everyone.

So I caved and went to the GP and got something for the morning sickness. I'm such a wimp but the nausea was relentless. Feeling slightly better and now just lots of dry retching. I'm about 8 weeks and I really hope I perk up soon.

Rhiannon a girl on my last ante-natal thread had a son and a new sister within a few months of each other. I think she finds it really helpful as they are so close in age and she can see her mum in action as it were. If your mum does have another child soon then I'm sure it will make for a close knit family which has to be a good thing.

BitchPeas · 04/09/2014 10:01

I need a self pitying rant. I'm just at the doctors waiting for an appointment as I can't cope with the constant nausea and dry retching. I'm being sick 4/5 times a day as well Sad. I feel bad for DS as I haven't told him yet and won't for a while so he's a bit fed up with me being so grumpy. I don't know what to do about work either as it's shift work and working with the public. I have an hour and a half drive round the m25 each way and I threw up while driving the other day Sad
Why is early pregnancy so hard and so gross.

Inshock73 · 04/09/2014 10:05

Hello ladies, can i join?

I'm expecting my first baby and I'm 41! Still in shock :) I'm 8 weeks on Saturday and no symptoms at all! Beginning to wonder if its a phantom pregnancy (it's not!) :)

chiliplant · 04/09/2014 10:56

Congratulations in shock! I'm 9+4 and I don't really have any symptoms apart from bad skin and slightly tender breasts!
I keep thinking their is nothing in there!x

JaneyTea · 04/09/2014 11:00

kismac I don't think that going to the GP makes you a wimp at all! I hope that they were nice and that whatever they've given you is helpful. BitchPeas is it possible to take any time off work or change your shifts at all? I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time of it.

Congratulations Inshock73 !
