Afternoon everyone!!

I gave in today and bought 2 pairs of maternity trousers and a top £48 it cost was less than impressed I must say Im a bargain hunter so shelling out that much on stuff that im only going to wear 4 six months near killed me..

Duchesse can I just ask you where can I get info on homebirths?.My midwife suggested I consider I have a homebirth as my dd was only 2 1/2 hrs start to finish so she doesnt think I would have time to get to hospital this time!!
my dh isnt really keen on me having a homebirth and im not convinced either tbh still it doesnt hurt to get all the facts and think it over.
gonna go and get myself a hot chocolate yum!

Tili- you could start with your local branch of the National Childbirth Trust. They're a mixed bunch, but there is usually a pretty thriviong HB group within every branch. I made some very good friends, and they were very supportive. They are also invaluable if you run into problems breastfeeding or any other parenting issue

Also, if you have team midwifery in your area, they should be able to expain all the options and they are usually very supportive of HB. The fact that your midwife suggested it is evidence that she would be happy to do that. By law, you have to have 2 midwives attending you for a homebirth, although one can be a trainee nearing the end of her training.

And because you sign a disclaimer, a HB still costs the Trust way less than a hospital birth despite the two midwives (my Surrey midwife said 700 pounds versus 2000 in hospital, due to the amount they have to put aside for litigation (it's a mad world we live in...)

hi everyone...first time i hve been on this. Hd my 12 week scan on thursday and was told my baby has increased nuchal translucency of 6.5mm which came as a complete shock!! i have had 2 healthy babies. i know this is much higher than the 'norm'. I go for a more detailed scan on tuesdy at which point i will be offered a CVS. I am 27 yrs old and married. Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience and such a high reading and outcome. This has completely devestated me and is always on my mind. pls leave comments to give me a clearer picture.
