Hiya ladies, and welcome to the new ladies.
Cried at Fred on Corry dying tonight - how sad is that!
Bubba, I wanted to wish you all the best for your scan tomorrow.

Just a short post tonight - have a hell of a headache. Bought some of that 4head stuff you put on your forehead to get rid of headaches, but it hasn't worked! Bloody advertising!!

Hugs to everyone and see you tomorrow. And thank you for your lovely wishes - much appreciated.

CaptainDippy · 10/10/2006 07:48

duchesse · 10/10/2006 08:58

Sorry ladies, been offline for a while and on bedrest after another heavy bleed last week. Every doctor who exmined me was sure the baby was a goner, but I had a second scan which showed the baby very active and healthy. Given that this is my third bleed so far this pregnancy (at 4 wks, 8wks, and last week 11wks 1day), we've decided to call the bump Vlad (Vlad the Impaler). The bleeding has thankfully settled, so am feeling up to posting on ths thread again.

Am on bedrest, but thankfuly able to work from bed... Will have my first trimester scan next Tuesday, at 12 wks 6 days.

11+6

CaptainDippy · 10/10/2006 09:23

Oh duchesse - how frightening for you, but GO BEAN!!! Sooooooo excellent that little bean is hanging on in there!! Enjoy he bed rest as much as poss even if it is frustrating!! PMSL @ "Vlad" - GO VLAD!!! Good to have you back with us!!

CaptainDippy · 10/10/2006 09:24

I'm 11+5 today, so only a day behind you duchesse!! How exciting!

doghouse · 10/10/2006 09:25

Just a quick hello. For those who don't remember, I am the one who is new to my area having moved a month ago, know no-one at all (thank goodness for MN!) and only now, have just managed to find a p/t job to keep me from going stir crazy. However, one kind MNer suggested I go on NetMums to meet-a-mum in the area a few weeks ago and I have been regularly emailing another expectant mummy who seems really nice. We have agreed to meet this morning ... feel like I am going on a blind date! She already has a 15mo so we will have a distraction at least. Will report back. Have a nice day everyone and welcome to the newcomers!

sallycinnamon · 10/10/2006 09:27

That's great news duchesse. Power to your little bean!
Morning everyone and welcome to newbies. Hope everyone is feeling ok this morning. I feel so breathless its like I'm about 8 months along. Had very strange sensation last night, was curled up on the sofa and felt what seemed like an almighty kick. It can't possibly be as I'm only 13 weeks. All very strange.

Greengirlforever · 10/10/2006 09:32

Duchesse - look after Vlad and take it easy! Only a little bit of work from bed I hope? Glad everything is going ok so far and keep doing as they say, no matter how boring it gets ...

Captain Dippy - So I'm 42/43 eh? Not impressed! I'll have you know I'll still be a youthful 41 when this bean is born......

Hello to Bev123 ! There's me and Bugmum who I think is 40, and there are a few more of 38/39 I think. I had a 1/33 risk and went for CVS which came out ok, but we have another lady on here with a 1/33 risk who has decided to wait for her 20 week scan so everyone is different. I would identify the professional you can talk to best at the moment - whether that is your GP, midwife or a consultant, and see if you can grab a quick meet or telephone call with them just to clarify what is happening. It sounds like the classic situation of different people not talking to each other and possibly crossed wires of people thinking you asked for a consultation when you didn't.

My nuchal was 1.4 and my risk was way higher than yours so I think if I was in your position I might also be thinking about giving everything a rest until your 20 week scan. BTW I've also got a lovely 3 year old and a just as lovely 13 year old!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 10/10/2006 09:41

Doghouse-That's really good that Netmums was of use.I've met loads of local mums through there-it's a fab site for meeting people.

Anyway...must dash as I'm off for my scan shortly-I'll be back later.x

Bramshott · 10/10/2006 09:57

Good luck with the scan bubbaloo - hope it sets your mind at rest.

CFK - I am growing hourly through the day at the moment too! Feel quite proud of my little bump at the end of the day, then overnight it seems to vanish and I have to come to terms with the fact that most of it is just gut / wind! I am in my "in-betweeny" trousers, which are drawstring/elastic and I know I will be in after the birth! There are 4 pairs, and they're all deeply unnattractive! I have a couple of skirts too, but am holding off until I can hide my legs in 40 denier black tights!

Bramshott · 10/10/2006 09:59

Sorry, should also have said - welcome to new posters, and glad to hear doghouse that you've not only got a job, but are also meeting new people in your new area. Hope this morning goes well.

duchesse · 10/10/2006 10:08

Hi Bev123- I'm 38, and will be 39 by the time this one arrives.

SallyCinnamon- I don't think it's too early to feel kicks- I felt first child at 15 weeks, second at 18 weeks, and third at 10 weeks. (btw, this mirrors very closely their levels of activity now...) I think I may have felt this one move already, but there's so much else going on down there, cramps and twinges of various sorts, that I'm not certain.

CaptainDippy · 10/10/2006 10:20

Enjoy your meet up doghouse - good news aboutthe job too!!

I should reeeeally get dressed!!

Bugmum · 10/10/2006 10:22

Bev - Hi! GGF is right: I'm 40, and frankly a bag of nerves about the nuchal and triple test (next week), possibly because I had my DS when I'd just turned 39 (so essentially, the pregnancy was when I was 38), and he is soooo lovely that I fear I'm pushing my luck. You have to do what is right for you, and if you don't want anymore tests at the mo', then you mustn't have them
11+6 today, so I hit the big 12 tomorrow

mammyjo · 10/10/2006 10:45

Morning all!! This thread is getting enormous, took me half an hour just to catch up.
Welcome to littlefrog, nuttygirl and Bev. Hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies.
Weeonion, hope you are feeling a bit brighter today. Have you got anyone you can chat with about this? I had PND after my ds and things definitely improved when I started telling people how I felt. (Not saying you are depressed but it certainly helped me just to get my feelings into the open).

SOL, really pleased for you that your scan went well - such a weight off your mind isnt it.

Liath, you have my sympathies regarding your MIL's 2 week break!! I think I would morph into some kind of serial killer by the end of that marathon!
Duchesse, just wanted to say look after yourself. It must be so worrying for you. Go Vlad!!
Doghouse, hope your "date" goes well today!

Sally, I have been feeling definite movements for the last two weeks now so you may well have felt a big kick already!

Sorry to direct post at certain people, just trying to catch up on the chat. Hope everyone is feeling ok today. My ms has reappeared with a vengeance and my regular visits to the porcelain pan are a little too frequent all over again. To be perfectly honest that side of things is really starting to p*ss me off.

CornflakeKid · 10/10/2006 11:31

I'm back from bank after nearly fainting and having to sit on floor with a glass of water until stopped shaking and sweating - cried all the way home - feel positively sorry for myself! Must ring docs and check bloods were ok.

But...I definitely felt a little flutter last night too which has kind of made the last few months slightly more bearable - haven't got my doppler yet but if baby has decided its time to start hopping around then I may give it a miss and focus all my energy on sitting on sofa with a cup of tea and more cake waiting for movements!

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2006 12:07

Morning ladies.
Duchesse, what a dreadful time for you. Keep those feet up and relax.
Bubba, really hope the scan is going well.
Hope everyone else is feeling well.
Went to look at a school for dd who starts next September. Whist there, a little boy came passed with a teacher, and he had been sick. I caught a wiff and thought I was going to pass out! Felt the colour drain out of me. Fortunately the tour was ending so we could head off, but my God - I know how you feel Cornflake! Nasty.
Need to head, as am at work. See you later loves.

doghouse · 10/10/2006 14:13

Blind date went well! It is so nice to speak to someone in same position (like you guys) and talk baby-baby-baby knowing that (hopefully) you aren't boring them too much!

With my new friend and my 'old' friends here on MN I am so much happier than I was a month ago, so thank you all!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 10/10/2006 14:53

Glad it went well,Doghouse.I'm meeting a new "netmum" on Friday,so I hope it goes equally as well.

Haven't had time to keep up-this thread has grown sooooo much in the last day or two,so hopefully I'll be back later on.

Had my scan this morning and everything is fine. There is also definately only one bean in there,so that's also good news.Had lots of bloods done and was told I was very low risk of having a downs baby as there was a 1mm result,so that's also good.
Have my GTT in December which is a pain and I've also changed hospitals now,so won't be going to that awful place I went to on Friday-woohooooo.

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2006 14:56

Bubba, so glad the scan went well. What a relief for you. Good news about the downs result as well. What is GTT - sorry being dim!

CornflakeKid · 10/10/2006 15:03

Congrats Bubba - great news - is the GTT for diabetes? If so, I have been booked for one aswell as ds2 was enormous!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 10/10/2006 15:08

Thanks.

Yes,it's a diabetes test.
CFK-How big was your ds2? Oscar was also big at 9lb2oz,but I also have PCOS and am about 5 stone overweight,so classed as a higher risk of getting diabetes.Saying that I was fine(and about 7 stone overweight)when I was pg last year.

nuttygirl · 10/10/2006 15:45

Hi ladies

Thanks for the really warm welcome.

Feeling a right fat cow am I the only one that's been in maternity pants for a month????!!!

Congrats on the scan BubbaOOOOOO
