Morning folks - good luck for your scans today!

I have also had cramp pains - bought my doppler last night afterall - cost £10.50 on ebay which was quite pleased about - but think my cramp pains turned out to be wind! Have been having stretching/growing kind of pains - didn;t really get them with the others - maybe its a girl!

MIAM - your poor dh - very scarey - my dh goes ont he motorway everyday and I do worry esp when weather is bad. The stretch of motorway here is also pretty notorious for accidents. DH normally stays away a couple of nights but has been cominghome to help me out - but now he is getting grumpy and tired!

About to book a spa weekend with a friend for my birthday in december - going mid november - very exciting!

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

bubbaOOOOOOO · 11/10/2006 08:14

Morning,

Good luck with the scans today.

GGF-I'm also getting aches and pains.Seems to be very common, but pergaps if you're worried have a word with your midwife about them.

Tried de-fleaing the cats last night.lots of co-orporation from Tigger, but Jasmine nearly stratched poor Dh to pieces.Tried 3 times with her wrapped in a towel, but still no good-bloody cats, grrrrr!
Ds is on antibiotics for a chest infection and he's just as bad.Have tried 2 different syringes and he still spits the stuff out.Mind you,it's bright yellow and smells revolting,so I don't blame him.
Staying in today as the weather is horrendous-have already had thunder and lightening this morning.

sallycinnamon · 11/10/2006 08:15

Agree with the others GGF its probably just stretching pains- doesn't stop you worrying though does it?
You have my sympathies Liath, dd had hand, foot and mouth a couple of months back. Its horrible and there's not much you can do apart from the good old calpol. Good luck to those having scans today xx

geordiemacminx · 11/10/2006 09:06

Me too... feels like a little stitch most of the time, and is worse if I sit in certain positions?

Perhaps its just your womb "healing" if that makes sense?

Sexonlegs · 11/10/2006 09:57

Hiya ladies. MIAM, what a frightening experience for your dh. Glad everything is ok.
Cats still driving me mad. I think we need to de-flea ours too, as they are scratching like mad. Thought dh had done it recently.
Just to jump on the bandwagon, I too have had crampy pains, and what feels like a stitch in the lower left abdomen. Also hurts if I sit in certain positions. Used the fetal doppler again today and heard the bean's heartbeat. It's fab! DH loved it, but dd was like "whatever, let's do a puzzle!"
Can I ask a cheeky question?? Are you having sex? I can't face it due to sore boobs, cramps etc. and dh is getting hacked off. Fell out with him a bit about it - boo!
Anyway, good luck with scans, and love to all.
Weeonion, how are you feeling today? xx

geordiemacminx · 11/10/2006 10:11

I've been wanting to ask that for a while SOL!!!

We havent, but I think we both a bit scared if that makes sense.. I starting bleeding not long after we had sex the last time and it resulted in a m/c. I know it probably had nothing to do with it at all but its always at the back of my mind.. I think once I get to 12 weeks I might relax a bit..

Dp doesnt seem that bothered which is good in some ways but then makes me paranoid that he doesnt fancy me anymore!! Poor thing cant win really!!!

Weeonion are you ok babes? Not like you to be quiet for 2 whole days!!!

Greengirlforever · 11/10/2006 10:38

Thank you all for all your reassurance. That was exactly what I was looking for - cos I really don't think the cramps are bad enough to go to the midwife just yet. But its very like what a lot of you described so - sorted! MN to the rescue once again.

Sex - no thanks! Also feeling like Geordie Mac cos my DH really does not appear to be bothered - it sometimes gets me down but then I still am really not interested! Guess how many times we've done it since finding out...... Actually no, I can't remember, but not more than about 3 or 4 I'm pretty sure...

duchesse · 11/10/2006 10:50

Can't risk it at the moment, as am on what is euphemistically known as "pelvic rest". Anyway, he is in Rome, so it would be a miracle

bubbaOOOOOOO · 11/10/2006 10:51

No sex here either-it's hard enough getting comfy to sleep.
Getting lots of pestering from Dh though and strangely enough it was the other way round last time.

CaptainDippy · 11/10/2006 10:55

No sex here - feeling too tired and manky!!

Just caught up on the thread .....

Poor you Cornflake - almost fainting at the bank!!

I'm getting stiches and pains too - as we're all getting them, thinking it is v.normal - got them lots with 2nd PG too!!

Glad your blind date went well doghouse!!

GTT is def worth it - my friend had gestational diabeties which was only diagnosed at 35 weeks, and she was v.poorly - if they are offering the tests, I'd take them!!

OUCH OUCH OUCH!! At all these huuuuuuuge babies!!!!!! DD1 was 8lb, back-to-back with a huuuuuuuge head and that was QUITE big enough for me!!!!! Go big beans!!!

Emmymummy - my 12 week scan is on Friday 13th too!! What time is yours!!!? We're scan buddies, how sweet!!

MIAM - Soooo glad your DH was ok, must have terrifying. [hugs]]

Yey for results zazas - great news!!!

Hoping your poor DD gets better soon liath, poor wee mite - my DD1 is STILL not 100% better, has runny tummy still and skin is peeling off all her fingers, ouch ouch ouch - I'm feeling heaps better though, which is good!

Right - whizzing off to do 100 and 1 things now - hope scans go ok today.

Go Beans!!!

CaptainDippy · 11/10/2006 10:57

Hi duchesse!! How's Vlad and the "pelvic rest" (had a little girlish titter at that!! )??

emmymummy · 11/10/2006 11:11

Sex? Had such a sexy dream on Sat night that I had to pounce on dh before he went to work on Sunday morning!!! To be honest, although my boobs are huge & tender, and my tummy is expanding, I do feel quite sexy at the moment. Not like me at all!

CD - my scan is at 9.45. Am really nervous that a) it's going to be twins and b) somethings going to be wrong. Both fears are based on nothing at all, but I want to get it over with so I can relax and go shopping on Saturday for new bras and stretchy clothes!

CaptainDippy · 11/10/2006 11:13

I'm scared about those two things too emmymummy - you are not alone honey!! Mine's at 3.20pm - have finally found someone to look after the DD's - hurrah!! [hugs to your fellow scan buddy!! xxxx

CornflakeKid · 11/10/2006 11:37

Can you have sex while you're asleep??!! errr no sex here either - don't think dh wants me yakking on him either! DH didn;t want to have sex when was pg with ds1 - found it too weird and last time think we did a few times (tmi!) Think will wait and see this time!

Ooh post just arrived with new Little Green Earthlets catalogue....

sallycinnamon · 11/10/2006 11:41

Sex? Noooo! I am wondering when the sexy hormones will kick in. Feel a bit sorry for DH as he doesn't even try to persuade me any more! Just gets into bed and picks his book up!

Smole · 11/10/2006 11:44

No sex here either! But then my ms hasn't completely gone yet so still feel a little yucky at times. Getting fed up with it now.

littlefrog · 11/10/2006 12:03

How can you all keep up?? there's too much news from everyone!
Went to bed at 9.30 last night as was so tired, and then just ended up waking up really early - seems to be happening a lot; anyone else suffering insomnia?
Made a good step forward yesterday by getting myself some larger clothes from Oxfam, so am feeling more comfortable today. I can still fit into my ordinary clothes, but some of them just get painful by the end of the day, and I hate going around with buttons undone.
Hope everyone's well.

runnyhabbit · 11/10/2006 12:05

Hi everyone.

Really enjoying this thread, feels like an antenatal club!

Really suprised at the difference in NHS care around the country Move to South Wales! so far my care during this pregnancy has been fantastic. Saw the mw at 7wks to confirm pregnancy, booking appointment at 11wks (at home)and had 1st scan last week (13 wks). They even made the appt for 20wk scan last wk too!

This lo looked exactly like DS did on his scan and moved the same way. Is that normal, or does it mean we have another DS on the way?!

Congratulations to all pregnancies, and thoughts are with you who are going through a tough time

btw - been reading the post about smoked salmon....mmmmmmmmm think I will doing a bit shopping on the way home!

mammyjo · 11/10/2006 12:35

Morning all!! Good luck to all with scans today or within the next couple of days. Am in work tomorrow and Friday for long days so wont be around. Hope everything goes well for you all.

Runnyhabbit, where abouts do you live? I am also in South Wales and my care has been the same as yours. Have you got your date for your 20 week scan already too?

MIAM, so glad your dh is ok. I have to use the motorway to get to work and some days it is horrific, especially on a day like today which is wet and horrible. It is quite scary sometimes.

Sex? What the hell is that? None for me I am afraid. I am so bloody tired that dh would not even bother to ask because he would know what the answer would be! The word sexy does not belong in my vocabulary at the moment!

Have a good day everyone!

Bugmum · 11/10/2006 12:48

Sex? Sex? [flicks through dictionary] Oh, RIGHT, that thing we did to make the beans, I remember

Bugmum · 11/10/2006 12:49

Btw, do you think some nice clued-up person might make us a new thread? This one is looooooooong

runnyhabbit · 11/10/2006 12:59

mammyjo - I live near Bridgend. Whereabouts are you? I'm having this one at the Princess of Wales, or a homebirth (although still trying talk DH round....thats another story. Any help with home birth experiences would be greatly appreciated)
When they had finished my last scan, they told me to wait at ultrasound reception, and they could make my appt for 20wk scan there and then - great, because it meant I could choose a time that suited me and DH!

WaspElly · 11/10/2006 13:15

Hi all - another newbie - scan on the 19th, current EDD April 30th, but ds was the full 9 days late so not sure where to put myself really!
Home birth although unplanned (all a bit quick really - never got to be able to get a regular 'time' between contractions)
Best bit about a home birth, a cup of hot sweet tea waiting for stage 3, going to bed at 4am in our own beds and getting up in the morning as a family to watch the Lions on telly together, all 3.

Anyway, hi to all hope everyone's scans go well.

geordiemacminx · 11/10/2006 13:16

I can make us a new thread... any name suggestions?

OP posts:
duchesse · 11/10/2006 13:22

I was going to ask if anyone else was planning a home birth. Ive had two, both in Surrey, with the ame midwife both times. She was on her day off both times but came to catch my daughters anyway, so I have nothing but positive expereinces to report abut home birth.

We're now in Devon, and about 20 mins from the hosptial in Exeter; unless my pregnancy continues scary, I'm hoping for another h/b. The hospital is opening a new birthing centre in March, which tempts me sorely as well. Can't decide...
