Hi Ladies thread 3!! 2nd Trimester we are on a roll!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Minichuch · 21/09/2014 19:35

I've been looking at travel systems with my parents today and oh my what a bloody minefield that is - we are lucky that they would like to buy us the system but there is so much choice - is anyone else having this issue - I stupidly looked at the bugaboo chameleon and fell for the gadgetry/engineering on it - sad I know - think it's time for dh to get involved and give his opinion - to date it has extended to get whatever you want so long as you are happy with it so am I - no help whatsoever

The one thing he did have an opinion on what that my non maternity jeans were looking a bit snug - thanks for that - looks like more shopping for clothes

sandulacek · 21/09/2014 19:54

Oh no Frenetic it's time you're feeling the glow!

Mini, we haven't started yet with the pram hunt. I have peeked at the icandy and bugaboo websites just now and I'm confused. We're going to 2 baby events soon so hopefully seeing the differences will help!

Bangonthedoor · 21/09/2014 21:15

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling great frenetic Thanks

sand I was looking at the blue water baby show online earlier but it's the only weekend I can't do! Hmm Looks great though, have fun and buy lots! Wink

When I was pregnant with DD my Dad bought our silver cross surf from Mothercare on the baby plan. At the time It was £600 to pay outright but if he took out the baby plan they took it down to £500! Plus they arranged it to be delivered 4 weeks before my due date which was super handy. I then kept it in the boot of my car to beat superstitions but then spent each night worrying the car would get broken into and it would get stolen Grin

Didn't go cot shopping in the end today but did go to Tescos and bought a few baby bits from there. Also took DD to the cinema and could have honestly fallen asleep!

Is anyone else really lairy at the moment?! I've got such an attitude Shock

Bangonthedoor · 21/09/2014 21:16

I think it's either hormones or I've been watching too much of Mel B on the X factor Grin

Memphisbelly · 21/09/2014 21:24

Frenetic hope it passes soon and it is a bug not ms.

Bangon dh says I have an attitude but he knows its my hormones, I was so annoyed about something at the school and he was expecting me to go in ranting and tossing tables Grin

Ordered ds's xmas presents tonight and am just about to be doing another xmas list of things I want to get, due to my sis changing her job and my bro not having access to his dd on xmas day looks like I have everyone here on xmas day again Hmm I just don't know how I will manage it

freneticfox · 21/09/2014 21:49

Trying to keep my head up tonight but feeling very weepy. The thought of feeling consistently like this for another 20 weeks is very upsetting. :(

LittleMissSunshine33 · 22/09/2014 07:03

I've been so busy with work I couldn't even find you on 'I'm on' thread!

Frenetic hope you're ok and remember I know it's not nice but you are allowed to have days feeling like that, chin up.

I am officially now massive! It looks like there's a rugby ball shoved up my jumper and big enough now that I'm feeling like the lucky Buddha where everyone feels like they have to have a rub of my tummy! Which is ok I'm getting used to it but at first either wanted to flinch away or breathe in! Lol can't do much of that now!

OP posts:
Grinningcat · 22/09/2014 08:35

Oh frenetic I do hope it all improves for you soon. Maybe it is a tummy bug?

No-one has touched my stomach yet... not sure how I will feel about it if anyone does. Depends who it is I suppose. I seem to be spoiling for a fight now and again so I guess it will depend if I am feeling hormonal too Grin.

Re accessories for the icandy raspberry - if we went for one we would also need the newborn pod (instead of a carrycot I guess) and the car seat adaptors. The costs I put up were solely based on the icandy website as we are starting our in person research next weekend so there might be some bargains out there. However I am prepared to be overwelmed.

Memphisbelly · 22/09/2014 09:28

Grinning it is worth going to an independent supplier rather than someone like John Lewis and trying you luck with getting the extras thrown in....'I will order this today if you throw the pod and adaptors in for free' the worst they can say is no.

I have started emptying my wardrobe of all the clothes that don't fit me and i am going to get so vac bags to store them in. i am sick of clothes being everywhere.

Anyone else having really crazy dreams? With ds I had the same sex dream over and over Blush but this time really vivid and not nice dreams about all sorts.

Grinningcat · 22/09/2014 10:45

Yes we are off to an independent on Saturday which my SIL recommended to us. Really excited.

I'm having really crazy vivid dreams. Last night I dreamt I was going into labour and went with my midwife to a deserted moor and climbed up a big rocky hill to a cave where I was going to give birth - only for my contractions to stop so we all went home! WTF?

freneticfox · 22/09/2014 10:50

I really wish I had crazy vivid dreams at the moment; I'm just repeatedly dreaming about my Dad - I guess it's a natural part of the grief process/being pregnant etc.

Feeling a little more human today, though something still isn't quite right with my stomach :/

Memphisbelly · 22/09/2014 10:57

Frenetic sorry to hear that your sleep is full of grieving Sad
On the plus side at least if you still feel a bit dodgy it shows its a bug and not the return of sickness.

My dreams/nightmares have been recently dh beating me up so badly I was a mess (dh was so upset when I told him, he is the most placid gentle man ever) it felt so real I went to the mirror when I woke to look and then I sobbed, the baby ripping its way from my belly (Alien Stylee), last night was seeing all the stars in the sky explode and get closer as the world is ending.......see.....I told you it was weird Grin but better than my every other day sex dream about Peter Jones from Dragons Den during last pregnancy Shock

freneticfox · 22/09/2014 11:07

I haven't had a sex dream in so long, I'm missing out damnit!

This office is driving me nuts today. I'm the only person that doesn't like it tropically hot in here, so there is usually a lot of compromise on my part. It's particularly stuffy in here today so I asked if people would mind if I left the door open for half hour to let air circulate. No response, so I asked again... louder. Out of seven people, one said "I don't mind", so I left it open.

Less than a minute after I sat down, someone got up and closed the door muttering "It's bloody freezing in here"

I know I made myself unpopular when I said I wouldn't be joining in any office bitching sessions, but jesus. It's getting petty as hell now.

Memphisbelly · 22/09/2014 11:18

Frenetic Grin at missing sex dreams! Poor dh last pregnancy I was a sex pest but this time I have gone totally off the boil!
They sound like utter twats....you need to sabotage the heating somehow Grin Or tell them to wear a vest! i am sitting in my dressing gown as I don't want to put the heating on as I am heading out in an hour.

freneticfox · 22/09/2014 12:20

I feel for my DH at the moment, he keeps getting told that he'll be taken advantage of, but because my sickness has dragged on and on, I'm still not feeling 'it' at all - any kind of repeated motion has me retching even now.

That said, he's still not got the raw end of this deal :p

BanglesSpangles · 22/09/2014 13:42

Morning all
Frenetic- My DH said he was talking to another dad-to-be who's other half was having the sexy-dreams. DH also mentioned that he'd read it in one of the dad pregnancy books that this was a normal occurrence. Feeling a bit put out too- where are my sexy-dreams, dammit?!

Also re heating- if it gets really bad, point out that it would be wrong for you to strip off, but they can put a bloody jumper on

LittleMiss- I feel like some kind of buddha too- if people aren't actually having a rub, they're hovering like they might try to strike, while I try with all my might not to smack their hands out of the way. At least it's not been total strangers so far- apparently this will come in time

sandulacek · 22/09/2014 14:22

I wouldn't like strangers touching my belly but I don't mind people I know. Strangers...really??

JacktheLab · 22/09/2014 14:36

I've never had people touch me, but I have quite a strong need for personal space so it's likely that it's my body language telling people to get lost Wink

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend and frenetic hope you feeling better soon!

Scan tomorrow at lunchtime, wi

JacktheLab · 22/09/2014 14:37

Stupid phone!

Will find out I hope if it's def a girl in there....

BanglesSpangles · 22/09/2014 15:39

yeah, i thought it was a bit mad, sand, but my sister said she had a spate of little old ladies coming up to her in the street to touch her bump. My sister's lovely though, so she probably projected some kind of friendliness towards that sort of personal space invasion!

Memphisbelly · 22/09/2014 16:08

I have had two people in the school playground who I don't know very well touch me. One touched it with 2 hands and my friend burst out laughing as she said my face was a picture. Another hovered her hands around my belly and I said 'don't touch me' I have really issues with personal space and don't even like hugging people I adore apart from ds and dh! I found my wedding very very hard as everyone wanted a kiss or hug.
Luckily everyone I know well knows this and leaves me alone. Grin

BanglesSpangles · 22/09/2014 16:43

I'd still really like to reach round and just give someone's bum a squeeze while they rub the bump... it feels like it'd be equally as invasive... just havent had the guts to do it yet

sandulacek · 22/09/2014 17:16

Haha Bangles, do it Grin

Jack, when you say definitely find out...did you have some indication it's a girl?

JacktheLab · 22/09/2014 18:02

Sand we had a gender scan a while ago and they says it's a girl but I'd like another opinion just cos we really want a girl and I have billions of boy clothes from my ds so want to be more sure before we get rid of most of them

Memphisbelly · 22/09/2014 18:07

Jack I was the same, I wanted another boy so badly part of me didn't believe the gender scan so wanted a second opinion Grin
