Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Donkir, ds never touched my bladder....this one uses it as a trampoline! I am desperate for him to move up. He was also kicking my stomach or something today and every kick made me wretch.
Yes to the hairy belly it is furry....I at least know from last time that it goes quickly after

Surf25 · 23/09/2014 21:32

Lovely to hear about folks scan news and updates on whether they are finding out boy/girl! We have decided not to find out this time, which I am excited about as dh wanted both times previously and I didn't especially, but we found out and although it was lovely to know I am quite looking forward to waiting that little bit longer for the surprise this time! Also, don't want to continually have people pestering me to find out what it is this time! Amazingly we kept the secret both times previously but I just don't think we'd manage it this time! Still have to wait two weeks for our scan anyway...

Bit of a Hmm moment today at work when a senior colleague asked a large group of us a work related favour and then announced loudly I'll not look at you surf as you're pregnant...cue everyone staring at me as I've kept things very quiet only telling those who needed to know. I'm not one for going red easily but that was embarrassing! Mortified! Though everyone was nice about it, you could tell they were embarrased for me!

This was after throwing up on myself on the way to work in the car! A combo of random morning sickness that rears it's ugly head at unexpected times as well as a nasty cough and inflamed tonsils...oh well... Generally things better this trimester tho...hope things going the same way for others on here too!

Sorry this is a mammoth post, I check in regularly but am never very sure what to contribute but don't just want to lurk!!

Surf25 · 23/09/2014 21:33

Oh and dreading anyone touching my bump! Am exactly the same about touch as some of the rest of you! Hands off please!

Bangonthedoor · 23/09/2014 21:52

Shall I share something crazy with you all??

Now I've never come across anyone in RL that has experienced this when pregnant but I have read some online threads when I was researching when pregnant with DD which detailed other ladies experiencing this.

When I was carrying DD, from about 25 weeks onwards when her movements were becoming more like kicks...god this sounds mad...she'd kick me and it would make a sound Shock

It got louder towards the end of my pregnancy when the movements were much bigger and significant repositionings. So early on I noticed it whilst sat at my computer, I thought it was a noise coming from that but I soon realised it was a noise every time she moved where ever I was. The only way I can describe it is it sounded like a click of a computer mouse but much louder and deeper as the pregnancy went on. Other people could hear it and were like "what is that noise?!" It was so weird but I'm kind of hoping for it again Grin just because it's different! No one has ever been able to explain why it was happening, I don't think my midwife ever actually believed me!

Memphisbelly · 23/09/2014 22:07

Surf Sad thats not nice forvyou what happened at your work and very unprofessional of them!

Bangon....that sounds different and a bit odd, bet you freaked out when it happened the first few times! The weirdest thing that happened to me last time which I do not want to happen again was when I was in labour he got his foot wedged between my ribs it was so painful as with every contraction he pushed his foot Shock I ended up with 2 midwives trying to push his foot out/jiggle my ribs (if thats even possible) to get him out as it was so painful I struggled to push! He had little swollen toes on one foot when he came out.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 24/09/2014 07:04

Bang sorry to hear your work news not want you want just before going on maternity! I know someone who said they could hear their baby kicking but not til the end when she was huge! I'd love that I just want OH to feel it now! When does that start to happen??

L1ttleMissGiggles · 24/09/2014 10:33

Morning Everyone
Just wondering if any of you are doing pelvic floor exercises often? Midwife told me to you tube how to do them and that was it really. A friend said she did that when sat at traffic lights which I do but unfortunately or fortunately which ever way you look at it I don't drive through many traffic lights. Just wondering what you are all doing? x

BanglesSpangles · 24/09/2014 10:54

morning one and all

bang, that's rubbish- id be gutted if my boss left (although i wonder if it would mean that i would be able to get her job :D)

Giggles- I've been pelvic floor-ing whenever I remember- I'm doing a quick 10 just sat here at my desk. Haven't had a set time, but I'm hoping it pops into my head frequently enough to do the job- think i was standing at the station waiting for the train yesterday

Memphisbelly · 24/09/2014 14:08

Came back from hospital they have only gone and lost all of my notes in transit between 2 hospitals! And apparently for confidentiality thr dont have copies on thr computer just the one copy!
On top of that Apparently my blood disorder I have can make my my placenta clot or cause placenta abruption so at 32 weeks they are scanning me and if he isn't the perfect size they will look at inducing me! Shock But apart from that they seem happy enough and there is just the possibility of early induction and maybe changing to thr bigger hospital but they will know more in 10 weeks

donkir · 24/09/2014 14:20

Memphis I'm the same. They've lost all my notes from when I had my son so they don't actually know why I needed a blood transfusion with him but from what I've told them they're having a guess that I had a retained placenta! Bloody useless.
Hopefully things will work out for you with your blood disorder.

Bangonthedoor · 24/09/2014 14:31

God that's terrible memphis! How unorganised! I really hope the placenta behaves for you and you don't have to be induced!

Grinningcat · 24/09/2014 15:31

That's awful.

Just off to have my flu jab. Do you think I can count this as an ante-natel appointment and claim the half hour off work? Wink I wouldn't have had it if I wasn't pregnant.

freneticfox · 24/09/2014 15:49

Memphis did you shout at them? At least give them evil glares..?

It's scan day tomorrow, bright and early at 9am! :D

I had my first big ugly-cry breakdown this afternoon. Was sat in the car listening to one of my favourite songs and was imagining the first time we take our child to Colchester Zoo (I grew up near there, we go nearly every year with family) and I automatically imagined my Dad excitedly being the show-off Grandad. Then remembered that's a memory that'll never be.

Cue half an hour of wrenching sobs. Smooth.

Memphisbelly · 24/09/2014 15:58

Donkir the other hospital had them 2 weeks ago, they were sent to this hospital on the 17th and they seemingly didn't arrive. They have all of my consultants info in what they want me to do.

Frenetic I didn't shout no, I was boiling with anger then the most beautiful consultant walked in with the tightest suit trousers on. I thimk he must be their secret weapon to calm angry pregnant women.Grin
So sorry you have been upset today I have no words to help. You will be able to continue the tradition of the zoo and as your baby grows you will be able to tell them about your wonderful dad

Bimberley · 24/09/2014 16:07

I should really try to catch up more!
22 weeks tomorrow.

Baby has moved above my belly button now. It's good to feel kicks and wriggles up high! But with my last DS he had his bum pushed on my ribs for the last ten weeks! So painful!
Even after the birth my rib stayed numb and bruised for at least 8 months!
I'm hoping this one doesn't!

Have all the clothes we will need now up to 9 months!! Maybe went a little overboard :)

Have also just bought a changing bag!
Over the halfway mark now! This is where is goes quick for me!

Memphisbelly · 24/09/2014 16:15

Bimberley wow you are as organised as I was with ds, I also had enough baby wipes and most of his nappies for first 9 months by thr time he arrives as thats what I bought weekly once we had his clothes, this time we have done with newborn stuff, half done 0-3 and getting some nappies,I have found the changing bag I want but an going to ask one of the inlaws for it for xmas.

donkir · 24/09/2014 16:26

Sorry your having a down day frenetic. It's still something you'll be able to treasure with your new lo.
Wow your all very organised. I'm sorting out the outhouse this weekend so will then have space to put bits we get early. Will definitely stock up on nappies and wipes as DP will have his quiet time at work soon so will take a big pay cut from nov to feb. Perfect timing Shock

Memphisbelly · 24/09/2014 17:19

Donkir my dh is the same his quiet time is Nov-Feb which is why we are stocking up on the positives of it being quiet is that he will be around more this time, he went back to working away when ds was 2 weeks old as he was summer born.

Suppost to be going for a curry tonight with my friends but im so tired, dh says im not cancelling though as My best friend is having some home life troubles

Bangonthedoor · 24/09/2014 17:31

Ah memphis I'm sure once you're out you'll enjoy yourself Smile

I had completely forgotten about stocking up on wipes etc! When I was expecting DD MIL went mad and bought me loads of wipes, creams, nappies but DD was her first grandchild, this one will be her 4th so not quite the same!

I've organised a date with my pregnant friend to go shopping to primark for everything we need for our hospital bags! We'll be doing this in October. I absolutely LOVED this shop last time round and can't wait!

Sorry to hear you're feeling down frenetic thinking of you. It's so hard isn't it Sad

BanglesSpangles · 24/09/2014 18:17

Crikey memphis crossing my fingers that everything goes as it should. And bloody hospital admin systems never cease to amaze me

Hugs for you Frenetic - a good, uncool cry is definitely called for sometimes

I was thinking this morning that I've not bought a single solitary thing yet- I've got a few freebies, a couple of bits that people have given me and, randomly a little pair of socks that I think must've been meant for a present for someone, but haven't actually paid any money out yet. Still feeling a little bit wary until after the 20 week scan - 2 days to go and counting!

LancashireTea · 24/09/2014 18:53

Hello ladies. I've missed so much recently. What with the move, no internet, work generally being manic (ofsted in week 2; open evening; meetings galore) and trying not to feel rough. Starting to feel a smidgen better but I still have no bump!
Just flab.
And then I get a letter saying that I'm now consultant led (even though all was very well at my 16 week app last week - even heard the heartbeat going strong).
I feel tipped over the edge. I can feel a cry coming on. Yay hormones.....

LancashireTea · 24/09/2014 18:56

Bangles: I still haven't bought anything yet.

Except a new car. Well newer. Much needed though. My old fiesta was on her last legs and needed serious work. Big chunk out of my maternity fund though. Hertfordshire are tight arsed gipping best arts when it comes to mat pay.

Got I'm ranty tonight.

BanglesSpangles · 24/09/2014 19:31

Haha- funny you should say that- we bought a new car last weekend! Not strictly for the baby, but sort of because of it...

So do you know why youre consultant led? Sounds like it was a bit unexpected, unless i read that wrong?

LancashireTea · 24/09/2014 19:34

Not a clue because the first mw that I saw said I should only see my me at the docs. Letter arrived yesterday (but because of the move was on redirected mail). It's probably because my bmi is horrific. And the cramps I get all the time.

Am trying not to over think others though.

Minichuch · 24/09/2014 22:08

lancashire wonder if ill end with a letter too - my bmi was shocking - mw alluded to it at first appointment but when went for 16 appointment it wasn't even mentioned and she didn't even weight me - I was highly surprised - although now being 18 wks I'm still in normal clothes which I'm surprised at

Still 2 weeks to go till scan - feel quite bad at times reading comments as I seem to be getting away extremely lightly - no sickness, no mood swings, no bump - reckon it'll all hit me at once Sad
