Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Oh yes! DP has "pregnancy for men" too which is quite good. I keep reading it Grin

JuniDD · 14/09/2014 22:15

oh weird, I thought furry was after me.

I am SO MASSIVE now, the bump hurts when I stand up. Just wondered aloud to MrJuni if I'm going to end up like Jabba the Hutt - just lying on the bed while people bring me food. Not sure what I'd do about the loo though... Hmm Probably best to try to keep moving!

Bless you juni, you're probably not as big as you think.

Can't believe you managed to get your men to read books about pregnancy. I have never achieved this feat.

JuniDD · 14/09/2014 22:26

But yes, ness, go for it. Am wondering how many we'll get through before mini-Juni arrives! Wink

OP posts:
FurryScoob · 14/09/2014 22:36

Go for it ness didn't realise we were due so close, we could end up with a synchro birth!

How are you all getting your DP's to read pregnancy books? DP only reads on holiday & then it's only Jeremy clarkson books so unless top gear bring out the ultimate guide to fatherhood I've got no chance of him reading anything. He did read the reviews about pushchairs but only to check out suspension & handling!

RPopz · 14/09/2014 22:46

I've already told them I'm going on mat leave Wil - apparently it doesn't matter when I want to go as long as they know by 25 weeks. I was in a mad rush trying to sort it out before my holiday when I discovered this! Lol.

Haha no idea how much for it new. I only asked for it cos I thought it'd be a bargain but apparently not!! She did give us a nice sling for 20quid though so she wasn't a total let down Wink

DH promised he'd do some baby reading on holiday.... I wanted him to read one chapter of a birth book (he read half of it Hmm ) and First Time Parent by Lucy Atkins (none so far!). He's not a big reader to be fair. But I'm determined to get him to read something!!

I'm reading Beyond the Sling by Mayim Bialik atm. It's an attachment parenting guide. I quite liked it at first but she's starting to become a bit insufferable! Guess I'm not as "attached" as I first thought!!

laurenamium · 14/09/2014 22:47

Wil and furry I'm surprised DP went for it. He's a kick boxer and pretty much likes to live up to the "bad lad" impression apart from when he watches pretty woman but he's quite liked reading his book. He likes that it tells him that I'm going to be a moody cow I think. So he can be all smug when I'm being moody and calmly announce the word "hormones" like he knows Hmm which OBVIOUSLY makes it better

Redshoes56 · 15/09/2014 04:51

Hello ladies! Sounds like everyone's weekend was nice. Lot of R&R here, and now finally some time to get caught up with you all.

I have wtewye but I don't love it; too much "do this, and the baby might die!" fear-mongering for my tastes. I exaggerate, but only slightly.... I'm enjoying Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy more. May also be very American though :) Bought DH the Dad's Guide to Pregnancy for Dummies. He chuckled. Not sure he's actually read any of it.

Can't believe it's 18 weeks now. I'm anxious awaiting those first flutters. I can feel my damn uterus blowing up like a balloon but no baby wiggles, as far as I can tell anyway. Bought first few maternity shirts though, which is exciting!

Baby showers are such a huge deal here, including registering for, buying and opening gifts. My cousin's wife's shower was a few weeks ago and it was as posh as some weddings I've been to. A bit too much, really. I know my mom and MIL are in contact and planning up some big surprise party for me already. We'll see if they are successful in shocking me! I haven't got it in me yet to start thinking about a gift registry (even though my mom asks me every other day if I have started one). Maybe once we find out the gender in a few weeks!

Hormones are raging. Lost my temper badly at a meeting on Friday. Though the tantrum was effective in getting everyone to focus and finish the damn meeting, sort of embarrassed to show my face there tomorrow....

Leela5 · 15/09/2014 07:29

Morning viroids! Thanks so much for book recommendations. I have baby centre app which I like. This is my first and I've realised there's lots I didn't know.

Eugh food in nappy game!? That's gross! What about pin the cock on the man? Oh hang on, I think that's a hen night game...

red I hope you feel your wee one kick soon! X

Pisghetti · 15/09/2014 08:03

Morning viroids.

Hope you feel some kicks soon Red! I hear you on the rage - I have far less patience with my colleagues than usual....

I'm shattered. DP broke himself on the ride yesterday so I took him to A&E. Didn't get home till almost midnight and then had to be up early to bring DS back to our house to get ready for school. Feeling very sorry for DP but can't do a lot to help him as I'm away all week with work Confused hoping I can do less travelling after Christmas as I don't really want to stray too far from home.

wilmabedrock · 15/09/2014 08:16

Hahaha Lala, I think you might get lots of Shock faces if you suggest playing that.

So my books are called: Your pregnancy Week by Week and Your Baby Week by Week (which actually goes up to almost 6 months, not 3). Clearly I have no imagination when choosing titles. Weirdly they aren't by the same person.

Yeah MrWil doesn't read much either unless it's sport related. Of course he would think there was no point now anyway as he's done it all before.

RPopz · 15/09/2014 08:19

Good to hear from you Red Smile Glad all is going well xx

Haha, Laura DH had an app at the beginning of my preg, not sure if he still looks at it now or not but every week he used to delight in telling me "apparently you're going to go hormone crazy this week!!" Lol x

Monday morning... blah!

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 11:11

FurryScoob · 15/09/2014 13:45

Their lovely zyla where did you get them from? May have to steal that idea!

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 14:13

It's a website, they're fabric covered and come with little hangers on the back of them. Back is also covered in fleece so shouldn't damage the wall. (Promise I'm not on commission!) lots of fabric choices too, it's www.fabricletters.co.uk

cookielove · 15/09/2014 15:26

Hello :)

FurryScoob · 15/09/2014 15:27

Ooooo thanks for the link, just had a look, I could spend a fortune!
So far mat leave just seems to be about shopping & waiting for parcels! Grin

Pisghetti · 15/09/2014 15:31

Hi Cookie waves Smile

They're gorgeous Zyla!

I got DP 'Fatherhood - The Truth' for his birthday. He wasn't very taken initially - said he didn't really identify with it but he seems to be getting more into it.

Redshoes56 · 15/09/2014 15:31

My rage and I stayed home sick from the office today. cough cough I realize avoidance is not a great long-term strategy but for today, it seemed appropriate!

Maybe I can get DH an app. He does listen with interest whenever I read him tidbits from the books and websites. Every week we give the babe a new name based on the comparably sized produce. This week it's Sam the Sweet Potato. Bit of a cop out as we used Sam before, but we're running out of unisex names!

Redshoes56 · 15/09/2014 15:35

Ooh, the fabric letters folks ship to the US! Adorable. Shopping....

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 16:22

Hey *cookie Grin

red there's nothing wrong with staying at home, mind you! there's nothing wrong with a bit of pg rage too :)

Been signed off for another 2 weeks, is there something really wrong about me going for a healthy pg walk? Past the new school nearby at home time? Just for a look??

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 16:22

Cos I'm tempted to tomorrow, but I don't want to get looked at funny :)

Pisghetti · 15/09/2014 16:28

To look at the school or the kids? I think looking at the school is fine. People get funny about you looking at their kids Wink
