Just Shagging - Thread 11 for Graduated Viroids!

JuniDD · 17/08/2014 06:27

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Bang on ness!
Bang on!
But you forgot the oh so common 'well my baby always slept, was an absolute dream, didn't cry, didn't fuss, really truly I'd forget him sometimes',
Which was always said approx a month after another FB rant 'oh god, child why won't you sleep? I've done everything, baby massage, bottles, dummies, even Ewan the bloody dream sheep..nothing'!

How quickly they forget eh?
(I assume I'll do the same)!!

KatoPotato · 13/09/2014 08:33

Morning viroids! Hope you're all feeling good on a Saturday morning!

Cookie the newborn memories are slowly creeping back for me now... Yoinks!

I'm going to pick my mum up from the airport this afternoon - she's been staying with my sister in San Francisco - and I'm desperate to tell her!

Tmi but my god am I constipated! Normally regular as can be, but I feel like a bunged up wreck!!

wilmabedrock · 13/09/2014 08:35

Welcome to the wonderful world of motherhood ladies. And even more frustrating than all of that? Noone will judge the menfolk for any of this, but any child-related decision you make will cause people to judge your mothering skills.

Whoever mentioned Gina Ford - a lot of people without children will suggest you do this because the idea of a child messing up their routine is a bit scary to them. I do know people who have happily followed it because they like structure in their lives and it has really worked for them. Not for me as I actually dislike it when things are the same every day and also think it's quite lovely to have a wee sleepy newborn fall asleep on you from time to time. I think a lot of people struggle with GF when number 2 comes along, if they have a toddler who dictates everything. They do always have babies who sleep well though (the ones I know). You'll all find your own ways which suit you. Take the advice you like and ignore the rest.

La assume your friends are paying for this wedding nanny?!

RPopz · 13/09/2014 08:53

WHO is Ewan the dream sheep....? Hmm

Minion · 13/09/2014 10:08

popz if half my FB feed is anything to go by! Ewan is a bloody miracle worker for sleep deprived kids. Essentially a glowy type sheep which has a few soothing white noise type sounds.
I plan on getting on for the just in cases!

ZylaB · 13/09/2014 10:35

Just had a hormonal meltdown at DH and shouted. The fool started trying to explain what 'average' meant to me when they were talking about measuring motorway noise on a TV programme. .... To a maths teacher...... Like I didn't understand it...... And he doesn't seem to understand why I might feel it's him talking down to me!! Grr lol

wilmabedrock · 13/09/2014 11:35

Oh zyla, you're within your rights to rage about that one!

I have never heard of Ewen the dream sheep. MiniWil hates anything in her cot at all, it's great, much cheaper all round Grin .

HungryHorace · 13/09/2014 11:55

Kato...get some lactulose in you! :-)

RPopz, I'm low maintenance (I think) but I get shit done. Maybe I'm actually deluded!

I agree with cookie...hard to keep up with a baby!

wilmabedrock · 13/09/2014 14:16

Good to hear from you Horace, how are you getting on? Eugh lactulose reminds me of post-birth last time round. Horrible stuff.

Nessalina · 13/09/2014 15:02

Good god Rpopz - Ikea? On a Saturday?! With your preg rage?!? Is it still standing?!?! Grin

Lol, yes! You're so right Wil! They're all little angels when selective memory is applied!

RPopz · 13/09/2014 18:21

I don't think I'm high maintenance, and I don't think DH does particularly... but people often seem to think I am an make comments about our relationship to that effect... Hmm I'm just impatient I think. Want everything done yesterday!

Haha, I think I'm over my preg rage now Ness Wink Ikea employees and Mr P are all alive and well Grin We had a yummy Ikea breakfast too! Dog walking and big supermarket shop this afternoon.. this is the first time I've sat down all day. SHATTERED.

Hope everyone's had a good day, pain/ vomit free Smile xx

HungryHorace · 13/09/2014 19:54

I can't taste it if I have it in milk / orange juice, Wil. Didn't need it this time, thankfully. Needed loads with DD!

I'm fine. Tired, but fine. DS is a bit constipated and gets quite a bit of tummy ache, which isn't good. Hopefully we can sort him out soon though, poor mite.

Ah, RPopz, ignore people who comment. What do they know, after all?!

JuniDD · 13/09/2014 20:42

Glad your local Ikea is still standing popz.

Good to hear from you horace, sorry about DS' tummy ache, hope that clears up for him.

I went swimming (well, used a float and kicked my legs) and I've been shattered ever since. Not feeling too great today, tbh. Tomorrow will be better!

Just checking in, currently enjoying a quiet night while DD is in bed and DP is out so rubbish tv here and an day night Grin

Nessalina · 13/09/2014 21:58

I'm on a quiet one too Smile Xfactor and pick 'n' mix! Grin
Pains seem to have died down today. I'm wondering if they might be linked to the anemia, lack of red blood cells = lack of oxygen getting to muscles? Taking the iron tablets now so hopefully should help.
Off to a baby shower tomorrow! Smile Thought it was next week so have failed to buy a gift yet - going to make a dash to Mothercare first thing!

RPopz · 13/09/2014 22:07

I've been watching xfactor too, and catching up with corrie from holidays. MrPopz is upstairs building Ikea furniture haha Smile

Oooh baby shower!

JuniDD · 13/09/2014 22:11

Are you guys planning baby showers? I'm not having one and have everything but one of my friends was disappointed and another asked if I have a gift list. Not sure I'm making the most of this!

We're watching Last Night of the Proms, the baby was going crazy at one point but has calmed down for Rule Britannia. Wonder what it all means...? Wink

Nessalina · 13/09/2014 22:44

I'm having a shower in two weeks Smile I just liked the idea of having all of my girl pals over, plus presents are always fun Wink
We're having afternoon tea! I have an Amazon wish list, but I feel really shy about sharing it, so I think I only will if people ask directly - don't want to seem grabby!!

wilmabedrock · 13/09/2014 22:55

Nessa you've been on MN too long using the word 'grabby' Grin .

No shower here. I very much dislike being centre of attention. Afternoon tea is always a good idea though, hope you enjoy it.

Nessalina · 13/09/2014 22:56

Lol, I know. It's like 'AIBU to have a gift list for my shower?!' Grin

wilmabedrock · 13/09/2014 23:09

Jesus don't ever do that, you'll get lynched! The MN collective don't approve of gifts or fun of any kind
I once saw a thread where people were being castigated for celebrating their birthdays because apparently bdays are just for children.

Minion · 14/09/2014 05:48

I'm not. No ones offered (not that I'm completely awful, just all my flying friends are just that, flying. So I don't see them that often), but we have everything anyways so don't suppose I'll miss out much.

juni we watched LNOTP too, baby went mad for the patriotic stuff, crazy!
Think it really likes music, every time it comes on we have a proper dancing bump show. (Though dancing to Kylie and the Mary poppins medley last night has the husband questioning it's choice in sexual preference)
Haha

laurenamium · 14/09/2014 07:31

Are you allowed to have a shower when it's your second baby? I never had one with DD and I think I would quite like one for the get together of friends more than the stuff. I've hosted quite a few for other people and its really nice everyone all being together as a last event before you're too exhausted to hold conversation Grin

Morning viroids! Back from hols. Did the obligatory POAS to check it's still there (it is). I am a nob but it's very satisfying

Filled my dm in on sil comments over hols. We've decided she's just never been around folk who've got kids and doesn't realise some things are best left unsaid to new mums. She's lovely and means well but just appears to have foot in mouth disorder.

Here were a few classics from the holiday:

Introduced me to wedding venue owner as 'la who is up the duff'

I tell her I'm pg and she says 'well with our wedding four months later you'll have excuse to lose the weight'

Tells me that because my dh is chilled and I'm high maintenance my baby will be somewhere in the middle.

Grin

I'm chuckling about it all now.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a baby shower. I love an excuse to get my girls together. I don't like being centre of attention though so if I had one it would be very small.

What are you all up to today? I got in late and I'm knackered but kid next door is shouting in garden and mr la is crashing about in the kitchen so any thoughts of rest are not likely to happen
