charlie and nrthdown so sorry. I have no words, but really hope that you have lots of support around you. X

ZebraZeebra · 04/08/2014 17:50

*not out of the woods

ZebraZeebra · 04/08/2014 17:52

I have an early scan on Wednesday. I'll be 8+6. I'm so nervous. I just wasn't like this the first time, with DS. It just never occurred to me anything could go wrong.

coastergirl · 04/08/2014 17:53

north and charlie I am so, so sorry. Can't imagine how you are feeling. Thinking of you both x

Thanks everyone for advice re anxiety. I have the Headspace mindfulness app and I'm starting to use it properly. As I've only been fully off the meds for a few days (been reducing for a while), I'm going to give it a few days to see how I am before heading back to the GP, as I think they'll just tell me to wait it out. After a horrible weekend, I feel a little better today. The weather has been gorgeous so I've done loads of laundry and sunbathed with my bunnies hopping round the garden. Kinda feel bad that my rough days are tending to be at the weekend when the hubby is at home! It's certainly not his fault.

Hope those who have been feeling poorly are feeling better. I'm 6+3 today and still no nausea. Would it be silly to think I might escape it?

ZebraZeebra · 04/08/2014 18:15

coastergirl there's a woman in my other group in a very similar position. It's not easy but you're not alone, you will get through this. Keep talking - to your DH, your GP, MW and to us. I'm sure your DH understands you have good days and bad days, that it's not something you can pick and choose :)

Oh here's something! Great British Bakeoff is back! This Wednesday :) Damn these cakes - i couldn't eat any last year because I was BFing DS and he's allergic to egg, and I'm trying not to gain too much weight with this pregnancy. CURSE YOU, CAKE P0RN!! shakes fist

theonewiththenoisychild · 04/08/2014 18:33

Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

tannyLoo · 04/08/2014 19:46

North and Charlie so sorry to hear your news. It is shitbuckets. There is plenty of brilliant support on MN around miscarriage, when you're ready. Big hugs.

Glad you're feeling a bit better, Coaster, but agree, keep talking!

Scan today showed wriggling baby at 8.5 weeks! Huge sense of relief...

FoscarC · 04/08/2014 20:17

zebra I too love cake. I haven't watched the bake off before but may have to this time. I baked a cake on Sunday but left it at home with dh to take into work. And now I regret it. I want cake!!

FoscarC · 04/08/2014 20:19

Great news on the scan tanny

Rainbow555 · 04/08/2014 20:46

Glad to hear good news missy
So sorry to charlie and north thinking of you. It is all very scary when I think about it, with every week I feel a little more 'safe' but perhaps not.

PickledPorcupine · 04/08/2014 21:07

Thought I'd lost you all.

I'm so sorry north and charlie and hope you're getting lots of support. xxx

Mer93 · 04/08/2014 21:17

So I don't have a definite answer just yet.
While I was at the doctors they took a blood sample, and I've got to go back on Wednesday to get another one. They are going to compare the pregnancy hormones; if they are going up all is good, if they're going down not so good.. I also had a scan, they couldn't see much and even struggled to find my uterus. But they said at this early stage they possibly wouldn't see anything anyway.
Hopefully I'll know something more by the end of the week.

tannyLoo · 04/08/2014 21:34

Thanks Foscar!

FoscarC · 04/08/2014 21:39

mer sending you lots of love and the best of luck.

amac36 · 04/08/2014 22:00

So sorry North and Charlie. So sad for you :-(

amac36 · 04/08/2014 22:05

I noticed on the other thread that a couple of you mentioned having a booking in date that hasn't happened yet and a 12 week scan date? Can you ask for a scan date to be booked for 12 weeks so the date is there prior to seeing the midwife?
I ask as I am not 100% sure of my dates but I see the midwife for my first app on Mon 18th Aug and then go on holiday the following Monday for 2 weeks. I think I will be about 10 weeks then and 12 when I get back. I don't want it to drag out. One you've had first app how long do scan dates take to come through? I'm thinking I'd rather book ASAP if it's possible.
Any help appreciated ladies from a novice mum to be :-)

Brummiegirl15 · 04/08/2014 22:09

Great to see new thread.

Feel dreadful for Charlie and North. 10 weeks as well, it's frightening, just shows that we still aren't out of woods yet.

I'm suffering with really bad stomach pains. I admit its frightening me. But I don't know if its something sinister or just a bad stomach. Frightened though.

And breathe

Safra72 · 04/08/2014 22:34

amac it's all different depending on where in the country you are, here my part of in lincolnshire for example i call the midwife directly, get a date for 8 weeks then in the post a few days later the scan date arrived for 4 weeks later. (These are based on my last period start date that they asked for)

Other parts it's completely different (even other parts of lincs!)

I'd get the number for your local midwife unit and call them, I'm sure they will be happy to talk to you about the local procedure. X

amac36 · 04/08/2014 23:25

Aw thanks Safra much appreciated. I'll do that. I'm in Yorkshire and my first pregnancy so unsure of procedure. Can't hurt to ask can it.
xx

coastergirl · 04/08/2014 23:42

Brummie I really hope you're ok. I have to agree, 10 weeks and after seeing a heartbeat is frightening. Thinking of North and Charlie.

Amac in my area (Merseyside/Lancs), I went to the GP but was told that we self-refer to the midwife. Did that via reception at my GP. The midwife (who I was lucky to see 20 mins later!) just filled in a form, and almost a week later I received my green notes and paperwork in the post along with appointment letters for my booking in appointment and scan. It's my first time at all this too and seems to be a minefield of information!

ohfourfoxache · 04/08/2014 23:43

Charlie and North I'm so sorry Sad

Thinking of you xx

MrsAmelia · 04/08/2014 23:58

Sending big hugs and condolences to both Charlie and North. Get lots of cuddles from your partners and take some time to recover.

Mer I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Tannyloo - wonderful news!!
