kent I did faint on tube in my last pregnancy, not keen to repeat the experience! That was after I missed breakfast. If you feel the faint episode coming on by feeling extremely dizzy, try breathe very deeply 3 times and do not be afraid to ask the strangers for seat (and be v grateful). (obviously easier said than done :)))

headlesschicken247 · 06/08/2014 17:18

so all booked in and now waiting for the midwifes to get in touch and a scan date.
Starting to feel a little more real now. Think I'm 7+4. Think lightheadedness and needing to get up in the middle of the night if about my only symptom to date (come to think of it it was the same last time)

fishfingerSarnies · 06/08/2014 18:32

The fainting is horrible I've had one full on black out, and a couple of dizzy spells where I'm sure if I hadn't stopped to breath deeply I'm sure I'd have fainted.
Felt much better today but exhausted after a busy day celebrating my dd 2nd birthday.

Just received all my info and dates for booking in appointment and it says scans will be around 14 weeks, it was definitely 12 weeks 2 years ago. Think I'm about 7ish weeks, so seems so long away. Ah well.

Hoping I will start to feel excited about this baby once I've had a scan... Can't seem to get excited even though baby was totally planned. Any one else feel totally deflated by the whole thing? Is it just because it's baby number 2 so I know what's coming?

NotAQueef · 06/08/2014 19:12

fish strange scan is so late - can the nuchal test still be done after 13w?

notoasthere · 06/08/2014 19:13

Nuchal scan be done up till 13+6

NotAQueef · 06/08/2014 19:14

Oh and fish totally with you on the not yet excited/feeling deflated thing -also on number 2 ...

ELA88 · 06/08/2014 19:25

Hey fishfinger this is my first pregnancy and I'm feeling very deflated! I just feel so sick and so tired all of the time. Still haven't heard back from the midwife or hospital either, I think I'll feel less anxious once I have a booking in date or at least spoken to someone! Hopefully the nausea will improve soon :-( xxx

M27J5M · 06/08/2014 19:26

Well I'm an excited little lady today! I'm 8 weeks today and have my booking in app at hosp tomor :) gonna try for an early scan while I'm there, should get 1 tho as I got 1 with ds due to previous mc's! Only downfall is today I look VERY preg to the extent mt colleague mentioned, she knows I'm preg but was amazed I'm showing already

I was so tired today I wanted to cry. Getting up and walking into the kitchen was too damned exhausting. At least I managed to eat my tea today - pork chop and savoury rice.

KentExpecting · 06/08/2014 20:13

I texted the midwife re: fainting in the end. Haven't heard back from her yet, but feel a tad better for having let her know, even if the answer is just that it's one of those things :)

I really hope my scan date arrives quite soon. I've decided I really want the scan at 12 weeks. If they push it to 13+6, I'll have a private scan beforehand. Not feeling very patient!

persepolis123 · 06/08/2014 20:18

fish I know exactly what you mean. I'm really not excited at all yet and this baby was very much planned. Hopefully when I stop feeling so tired all the time and I've had my 12 week scan I will be a bit more enthusiastic and allow myself to make plans.

I guess I should make my booking in appointment soon. I'm nearly 8 weeks and booking in isn't until 10 weeks here but it will probably be a couple of weeks before they can fit me in.

We had some good news today. DP has been suspended from work fo over a month because of a false allegation another colleague made. It was looking like he was going to lose his job until we put in a grievance to head office. Today we found out his grievance has been upheld and disciplinary thrown out so he's free to go back to work. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It's really not the kind of stress you need in the early stages of pregnancy.

pinkandstripey · 06/08/2014 20:45

Evening all, tried to post to welcome newbies earlier but mn seemed to be against me lol! So welcome newbies and congrats on bfps :)

persepolis that sounds like amazing news, bet you all sleep well tonight :)

Had a good day today, ds slept through last night so woke up at 730 feeling human (he's 15 months and a full night is fairly rare, he does wake, feed, go back to sleep more often than not tho). Went and wandered around sainsburys to get some inspiration for what on earth I fancy for tea, not feeling sick anymore (mpstly) just weirdly no appetite. Came away with lots of ice lollies and taco mix. Could be interesting!

Was 10 weeks yesterday, so 2 weeks today until scan, can't wait!

kent am sure this is a daft q, but are you in Kent?

coastergirl · 06/08/2014 20:53

Re feeling deflated. Yep. And this is my first. If I feel this anxious and down now, I can't imagine how I might feel when he/she is born, which is terrifying. Starting to wonder if I can even do this. Horrible day.

FoscarC · 06/08/2014 21:23

coaster just take one day at a time. For me some days I am over the moon with excitement and others I'm really glum.

pinkand stripey we are the same time along and have the same scan dates. Not sure if we had already realised this or not? I can not wait for the next 2 weeks to go. I just want to see my baby! Once I know it's ok I will relax so much more and can tell people and will then really enjoy it all I'm sure. This weeks gone quickly so far which is good.

KentExpecting · 06/08/2014 21:29

Pink: Yup, in a village between Ashford and Tenterden. Where are you?

coaster: You know the drill. Take it a day at a time. I'm sure sooner or later we'll replace the sickness and tiredness with a gorgeous healthy glow :)

ApplebyMennym · 06/08/2014 21:41

I am another Kentish lady!

"Constantly aware" of my boobs is an excellent way of describing it! They're not agonising, but brushing clothing against them is a bit ouchy, and my nips are permanently upstanding! Very annoying indeed.

My sickness seems to be getting a little better, which is good but also worrying! I should be 8+3 today. Had a call from the midwife yesterday asking me to attend a "pre booking" apt next Thursday. I haven't phoned back yet!

It's all starting to feel more real now, I am so nervous and think I will be right up until my baby is in my arms in March. It seems like forever away!

mariomadmum · 06/08/2014 21:47

ah hello heartburn.. I wondered when you were going to show up!Hmm

I'm not complaining though, honest! I'm taking all the symptoms as good signs that all is that it should be.

Rainbow555 · 06/08/2014 22:07

I think it is hard to feel excited all the time when we feel so unwell, it's hard to feel anything other than yuk! But one day at a time and I am sure soon we will start to feel better and I am sure we will feel excited by things.

m27 good to hear you say this I too am showing! I figure it is mainly my bloated bump as it defo gets worse at night but I wonder whether it will go and then the real bump appear of it will just morph into the real bump, or it could be cos I am eating so much! Lol bit self conscious of it as no one knows yet!

coastergirl · 06/08/2014 22:20

I don't feel unwell though, so don't really have much excuse for the deflated feeling.

KentExpecting · 06/08/2014 22:29

coaster, I think feeling deflated is definitely a symptom!!! I'm the same. Mentally exhausted and feed up and tired. Blame the hormones!!!

FoscarC · 06/08/2014 22:32

coaster it's the hormones!! Makes me just feel completely Bluergh at times. For no reason. Then I feel guilty for feelin sad when I should be all happy and then I feel worse.

mario yes yes yes to heartburn. Had it all this afternoon and it was awful. Just actually quite painful. And burpy. And yuk. Never had it like it before. Really uncomfortable.

pinkandstripey · 06/08/2014 22:35

foscar scan twins too :) There's a few of us due on the 3rd, I wonder what it will look like after scan dating (secretly hoping for the 1st, my birthday and ds birthday are on 1st - not of march tho!!)

kent I lived in Maidstone for a while pre ds, just interested in what care would have been like if we hadn't have moved :) some of Kent is beautiful - Maidstone, not so much! Big fan of mcarthur Glen at Ashford tho lol.

Sleep for me (hopefully!), night all xx

M27J5M · 06/08/2014 23:51

Rainbow - I can't even say it's all bloating cod it's there from morning but defo bloats as day goes on!

I'm with you on the heartburn, stocked up on rennie's/gaviscon

Bloody insomnia! Am hungry cos I threw up before bed, sheets are billowing with all the gas I'm expelling and I'm whittling about things I can do nothing about. Ffs...

bouncesky · 07/08/2014 04:40

I'm with you tanny! I love my sleep but have been awake for two hours now Hmm I've just had to get up and have breakfast as because I've been awake so long I was starting to feel hungry and then the nausea kicks in Hmm don't know how I am going to manage today, working from 9am until 8.45pm Hmm
