Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh I understand you.

I was all churney before our scan too, and I've been quite relaxed, never had any thoughts that all might not be well. Hated the MS obviously but never a concern that little B might not be ok in there.

I was excited, terrified (made DH drive as I didn't think I would be safe!). But it all got better as soon as I met the nice lady doing the scan and it really was amazing.

Nothing you can do really, except hope the time goes quickly and you get past the panic and into the Yay stage. Sorry.

HollyBen · 20/08/2014 12:49

queef I share the scan dread. With DD I cried before, during & after 8 week scan. Before & during 12 week. Probably would have cried after but sonographer was a bit of a bitch and I was angry with her I instead. By 20 weeks there were no tears but was really nervous before. Loved that scan and would happily have stayed all day.

By dating scan is tomorrow morning and gave butterflies already. Good luck x

lotsoftoast · 20/08/2014 12:54

Here with a hand hold queef

JammyTodger · 20/08/2014 13:14

Good luck Queef Hope all goes well this afternoon.

I am soooo happy to see a good contingent of cloth bums and slings in this group. I was definitely seen as the hippie oddball in my NCT group with DS1 and got so bored of explaining my choices all the time.

In other news, I had a migraine aura this morning and have felt crap since. It's making me worry because I never get migraines when I'm pregnant (normally get 2-3 a month). Could something be going wrong?

blondie1001 · 20/08/2014 13:21

Queef mine's tomorrow and I feel exactly the same! Hope it goes well this afternoon.

oliveobsessed · 20/08/2014 13:28

Safra we are going to try and wait till 20 week or as late as possible before telling DP's son.

Queef good luck

HollyBen · 20/08/2014 13:51

I used cloth nappies for DD. We were given a load of motherease by SIL and they did the job. Regarding trial packs. I was able to get one for £12 (+ a refundable £50 deposit) from a local initative. They provided all types from the proper old square nappies to fitted with covers and all in ones. They also give you a nappy bin. If you look at green-me.co.uk. You can search you lical area for initiativez

persepolis123 · 20/08/2014 14:14

Good luck queef I think it's normal. I remember crying the night before my 20 week scan with DS because I was terrified I would be told something was wrong.

Sp1rals · 20/08/2014 14:43

Sick sick sick just hating everything at the moment :-(

persepolis123 · 20/08/2014 15:01

I’m definitely going to give cloth nappies another go this time. I used them occasionally with DS, mainly when at home and not out and about but switched completely to disposables when I went back to work. I’m planning on being a sahm this time so will try reusable again. I’ve looked at some kits and done a quick analysis of costs and the savings are quite considerable (£2-300 over a two year period). I use supermarket own brand nappies so the saving would be much greater if using pampers etc. It’s not only the cost element, I find cloth nappies are so much kinder on a little baby’s skin than disposables.

hyperspacebug · 20/08/2014 15:23

Great news, coaster

Looks like we have close due dates - my scan yesterday was measuring 8wks3d. I ought to be relieved it's not twins (would be nightmare to attachment parent the twins) but twins would have been cool :)

And as for cloth nappies, yes, poo in the washing machine (scrape off the worst bits first). Along with baby clothes. Young baby poo is pretty un-disgusting, I found out anyway.

Pinksun12 · 20/08/2014 19:32

Good evening everyone!
Glad there's so many cloth nappy experts! I had some for both kids but hardly ever used them. Bumgenius leaked during the night, so needed additional soakers I think but didn't quite get what material and for ds2 I had a bag of bamboozles (?) where you needed the outer wrapper but never got around to getting that. But in case we'll get to that point I'm determined!!

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 21/08/2014 07:44

Pinksun, bamboozles are the best! And if you need extra absorbency then I found adding a littlelamb pocket insert ( they are square and you fold them) made it the best night nappy (even better than a disposable as they leaked when my dd was a bedtime milk monster!) Smile
