Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Oeverything I have read about spotting says as long as its light and pink/brown then not to worry, if its red and combined with cramping you should get it checked out, doesn't always mean the worst though. Could still be implantation.

Has anyone else got a heat/sweat rash under their boobs? I have and its driving me crazy, am going to the pharmacy today to see what they say, I have been melting in this heat so its no surprise.

I've put on a panty liner so will keep an eye on mine. Have GP appointment this afternoon so Ivan chat with them. Misty don't feel like a fraud, it seems v normal xxx

minipie · 30/07/2014 09:37

Morning all

Welcome roastpots!

Sorry to hear about spotting Brixton and Misty. I had spotting on and off all through first trimester with DD. With hindsight I think it was a cervical erosion (sensitive patch of cells on cervix that bleed easily) these are quite common in pregnancy I think? have you had sex or been pushing to do a poo (sorry TMI!!) as that's when it happened for me. Guess midwife and GP might send you off to the early pregnancy unit for an early scan? It's a bit early to see anything definite though I think. Anyway fingers crossed for you both, I remember the worry.

Essence I'm going to do ante natal pilates I think (if Dh will look after DD) as I did that last time and really liked it, but it's not what I'd call serious exercise!

I am debating whether to tell work... I wouldn't usually but I want permission to carry over holiday (which will expire on 1 Sep) and the only real reason I have is "so I can use it instead of maternity leave"... Not sure.

Hello and many congratulations!

Hope you don't mind us barging in like this, but in case you hadn't seen, we wanted to flag up Mumsnet's very first Bumpfest on September 27.

It's our one-day event all about birth and your baby's first 6 months. It's going to be packed with talks, workshops and activities to prepare you for becoming a parent - and, we like to think, also useful for those who've done it before but fancy a refresher. 'No fluff, no guff - just the facts you need from those in the know', as our tagline has it .

We'd love to get some of you along (it is in London so apologies to those for whom that's too much of a trek) and can offer a group discount of one-third off the ticket price for bookings of three or more tickets (chance for a meet-up? Grin).

If you take advantage of Early Bird offer too and book before August 3, that means tickets for £43.55 per person - a price that includes lunch, drinks and snacks (all guaranteed pregnancy-appropriate) PLUS a goody bag filled with swag worth more than the reduced ticket price.

If you fancy it, one person needs to book the tickets (in groups of three or more: you'll need the names & email addresses of those in your group) and enter the discount code BumpGroup in the promo code link.

The BumpGroup promo will continue to apply (one-third off!) but remember that the Early Bird offer runs out on August 2.

Here endeth the promotional message. Thanks for listening and hope you see you there - and very best of luck to everyone.

Thanks
MNHQ

Hello all, I got my BFP yesterday - not exactly sure of due date as I have had an 80 day cycle this time! Guessing around 12th April as I'm fairly sure when I conceived within a day or two. Have got booking in appointment with midwife on 14th Aug so looks like I was lucky to get in so early! This is my second child. This weekend I'm going to my first festival since I last became pregnant 4 years ago... Don't know where I'm going to find the energy to erect a tent, especially without the promise of several pints of cider afterwards!!

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 14:10

This is from this morning . A very faint line still but then just started spotting bright red blood so I don't think it will work out :(...

dancestomyowntune · 30/07/2014 14:15

Nordic, that is a strong positive. Don't let the spotting worry you too much, I have bled in all of my pregnancies, and have four healthy children aged between 5-11. Take it easy and contact your gp if you are worried. Spotting is normal, especially in the first trimester.

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 14:29

Dance thanks for the kind words but I've got along history of repeated chemicals and miscarriages and haven't been able to sustain a pregnancy since my son 9 y . I've had 3 chemicals at least with this inc since starting to try again for the last 9 cycles and 10 chemicals and mc before after my son while trying for dd who was born through a gestational surrogate in the end ( did Ivf for it she's ours biologically) . I wish I was one of those lucky ladies who are fine even if bleeding but I've never been :(. We'll we'll see tomorrow if it turns heavy as I suspect . I'm f annoyed and angry to be honest ! Lucky I can just wallow atm since dd is at nursery and ds just left to visit his dgp although on the other hand I could use a big hug right about now. The shitty thing about this is that I've already had the doctors and tests and meds so don't know what else there is to do except maybe go ask about a) celiac testing like spotti said , b) go ask for the progesterone ,c) try Ivf on myself , d) surrogacy again . C and d are easier said than done...

minipie · 30/07/2014 14:47

Sad nordic fingers crossed for you but can see why you're feeling pessimistic. Have you had investigations for the repeated chems and mcs?

welcome berberana!

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 15:27

Yes mini , years ago when trying for dd and and having all those mc and cp I had all the possible tests and doctors and private experts and then steroids that destroyed my health then we went for surrogacy . Have since been diagnosed with a chronic illness most probably caused by the steroids I was put on for the mc and am on medication.

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 15:30

All the tests had always normal results so unexplained secondary infertility . Interestingly a surrogate was able to carry to term on the second round of Ivf . Took 3 y though and was very complicated and expensive so not an ideal option . I wish I could just do this myself .

cinnamongreyhound · 30/07/2014 15:51

I'm tentatively coming over from ttc thread! Haven't read back, but will do.

Got my bfp today, 14dpo. According to online calculators edd will be 10th April but both ds's were 14 days over and induced! Ds1 born 27th April 2007!

oh nordic how bloody awful. massive fingers crossed, I really hope this is the time for you.

pyrowall · 30/07/2014 16:55

fingers crosses nordic I hope all is fine

has anyone else started feeling any symptoms yet - other than the spotting - I'm feeling a dull ache in my 'downbelows' but that's it. I was exhausted before I found out so that's nothing new - I remember first time round I would get home from work and collapse on the sofa and nap for an hour - can't do that now with a manic 3 yr old!

Is anyone considering an early scan?

  • I didn't last time, but I wonder whether I should this time round, no reason really - just think I should!
cinnamongreyhound · 30/07/2014 17:08

That's from an online calculator Brixtonbunny, I think because I ovulated cd12 it's probably a bit earlier :)

Still haven't read all, but re spotting I had it with ds2 and it freaked me out as I didn't at all with ds1 but all ok. Symptoms wise I've had sore boobs since Sunday and a few waves of nausea but I'm now wondering if my newly developed insomnia is related to being pg? I am tossing and turning until about 2am when I finally fall asleep properly, been like this since Sunday night.

With both pg I couldn't drink coffee and craved pork crackling! Didn't eat chocolate (which I eat lots of normally) but was more into savoury foods. And had hideous morning sickness :( I lost 3 1/2st with ds1 and 1 1/2st with ds2 but I'm a lot lighter now so slightly worried about how I'll cope if it's as bad!!

pyro I've had bouts of exhaustion and nausea but it seems to come and go, I'll be fine one day and not the next. boobs are a bit sore and I'm a bit bloated. lovely. and it's only going to get worse isn't it?

I was considering an early scan but I think I've convinced myself it's not really worth the cost. I had NHS early scans last time due to spotting.
