Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Cautiously dipping a toe in!

Got BFP on Friday but AF wasn't due till yesterday. No AF appeared so I guess I'm officially pregnant! Due date 5 April.

This will be DC2 and I'm 34. DD was 6 weeks early Shock so am really hoping that doesn't happen again!

BrixtonBunny · 28/07/2014 12:07

Yes misty number 1 for me! Stats are:

BrixtonBunny, 26, pregnant with number 1, EDD 10th April

Is anyone else terrified this is a cruel joke their body is playing on them?!

BrixtonBunny · 28/07/2014 12:07

Congrats to all, by the way! Sorry, have been very selfish with my posting so far. Xx

BrixtonBunny · 28/07/2014 12:08

Minipie lovely to have you on board! Xx

Glad it's not just me misty! I am trying to think positive thoughts, and am reassuring myself that even if for some reason this doesn't work out it does show we can get upduffed!

Has anyone started doing anything different yet? I've cast an eye over the "what to avoid if pregnant" lists online, but as I don't drink much and I don't smoke or drink caffeine it just seems to be avoiding potentially dodgy food or chemicals. Figured I can ask doctor on Wednesday xx

minipie · 28/07/2014 12:57

Thanks for the welcome! Well you've all inspired me to get organised. I'm seeing the GP on Thursday, so I need to decide which hospital! Oh and I need to get my thyroid tested (I'm hyopthyroid and it can go a bit skew wiff in pregnancy).

The only thing I'm doing differently so far is that I've ditched the coffee and wine. I guess I'll also be avoiding pate/soft cheese/rare meat but so far (in the grand total of 3 days since BFP Grin) that's not been an issue! I've been taking folic acid and vit D for a few months, but am considering switching to some more comprehensive vits.

Congratulations to all and special congratulations to the DC1ers - I remember that happy but terrified feeling! I seem to be a bit more chilled this time.

Right stats list so far, everyone please cut and paste and add yourselves:

Hope we are all ok. I keep having mild cramps which I know is normal but it just makes me so nervous. ( and I worry everytime I go to the loo). Ridiculous I know. You'd think as this is #2 I'd be more chilled out- but no. I'm blaming it on the hormones haha.

Haven't got my midwife app til 27 august when I'll be 9 weeks so got a bloody long wait yet. Seems a lifetime away!

Still- lots going on at the mo to keep me occupied. I'm back to work tnrw for the first time as my maternity leave ends from my DD. She's 7 months now so all good things have to come to an end. ( atleast I can be secretly smug that hopefully I'll only be back for 8 months!)

Oh and we are awaiting an exchange date on our house so busy busy busy. No rest for the wicked as they say!!

Hi ladies,

I'm a tentative joiner. BFP last Sunday, EDD 1st April, but had a mmc in April so have an appointment with the GP tomorrow. Need some people to talk to about lack of symptoms though! No nausea, but boobs are hurting and the exhaustion is setting in again.

Stats:
River - 30, pg with no1, EDD 1st April

Wherediparkmybroom · 28/07/2014 17:16

Edd 12/4 called the surgery this morning and have to see a GP on the 8th to be referred to the midwife. Seems they are busy where I am!
No symptoms as such just a sicky half hour in the morning which I never had with the boys.

lila35 · 28/07/2014 17:52

Hiya! I got a bfp on Friday after our first ivf attempt. I miscarried 4 years ago and am more than a little terrified of losing this little one around the 8\9 week mark to.

I have an early scan on the 19th around the 7\8 week mark. Symptomwise I have had constant tummy ache since the little embryo went back in and I'm incredibly tired, a very faint hint of nausea to so I'm hoping if I'm lucky enough for this to stick it stays at that oh and sore boobs, I cannot wait to get home and get my bra off!!

Lindalove · 28/07/2014 17:52

Hi - just got a BFP today. Still freaking out about it as expected it to take ages, but am thinking chatting on here might help make it more normal!! I'm 38 and this is baby 1, well assuming it all goes well over the following weeks. April sometime I guess...!

Hi, Lila and Linda!
With a bit of luck it will sink in soon, I'm sure all will be fine.
Are you enjoying the secret or having trouble keeping quiet?

BrixtonBunny · 28/07/2014 20:06

Hello to new ladies and welcome on board! So nice to have lots of company already.

Lila and River so sorry to hear about previous mc's, I really hope we all get nice fat sticky beans on this bus. Xxx

So many new BFPs Smile Hello to all the new joiners.
Brixton, I've given up coffee and alcohol (both of which I regularly partake in) and now avoiding the out of bounds cheeses, cured meats, shellfish and making sure food always cooked through. Think DH thinks I'm a bit OTT, but knows that if anything goes wrong and I did not follow 'the rules' to the letter, then I will hold myself responsible.
Cisforcat, when are you going to break the good news to work?!
Lila, out of interest, at what stage of development is the embryo when they put it in, and how soon afterwards does it show up as BFP on a home test? So amazing that the scientist lot can do this stuff, blows my mind, find it so fascinating.
River, sorry to hear you had a MMC. Must make you extra anxious. If it's any reassurance at all, I have very scant symptoms and was the same with my DS who turned out to be a very lovely/overdue pregnancy, so doesn't always mean something bad.
I second Brixton, fat stickies for all of us please!!!

Cisforcat · 28/07/2014 21:20

I going to have to tell them tmrw on my first day back! I somehow think they will be seriously unimpressed but hey ho- we are all entitled to it so I really shouldn't worry. ( bit I do!)

Welcome and hello to all the new passengers!

I have no symptoms whatsoever like a few of you but like ladyflower, I had none with my DD who was a very straightforward pregnancy so I know it means nothing.

I had bad SPD with my DD and my hips have started hurting again. I'm not sure of it's just co incidence as surely it's too early for it to have reared it's ugly head again?
I'm expecting it again at some point but was hoping it would be a long way off yet.
Anyone have any experiences?

BFP YEAH!

33, dc#3, edd 8th April. DC1 is 7th April so hoping to avoid that day!

I've had an early miscarriage before, between DC1 and DC2, a week after the BFP, and then had a couple of big scary bleeds with DC2 in the first 16 weeks. So I'm hoping this one goes well but am being realistic. To be honest the more I know about conception and baby development, the more I'm amazed that any babies are ever born!

No symptoms yet.... kind of looking forward to feeling a bit sick as then I'll feel the hormones are starting to work well! Will have to remind myself of this in 2 months time when vomiting over the cat food smell...

Hi my stats are ; 38 years old, this is bean no 1, EDD April. 4th. Only 4 weeks gone so fingers crossed the next few weeks go smoothly.
I'm gigging with my band at Edinburgh festival the first week of Aug so god knows how ill cover up non drinking!

ladyflower23 · 28/07/2014 22:09

Good luck for tomorrow cisforcat. As you say you are entitled and nothing they can do about it so no point in them getting the hump! Must be nice to know you only have 8 months till you can go again!
I remember painful hips in bed towards the end but fine all day so don't think that counts as spd? Am already getting what feels like round ligament pain though which I also think can't be possible at this stage?!

lila35 · 28/07/2014 22:11

I have no idea why that reposted, sorry girls!

wheredidiparkmybroom I have told a handful of people, they knew we were having the treatment and knew the timeline. Then they asked so I didn't want to lie although I back it up with " but we have a long way to go so let's wait for each scan/test " as I don't want to let myself or anyone get ahead of ourselves.

ladyflower they put this one in on day 5, when it had reached blastocyst, unfortunately from 8 embies on day 3 we only had 1 left on day 5 but that's the reason they wait till then as they can see which ones the strongest. Then I tested 9 days later so 2 weeks after they did egg collection, I was tempted to test earlier but didn't want to see a negative and chances are it would have been. The line was ever so faint and I have tested again since, I have 1 left and I am wondering how/if I will leave it alone or test again to check ??

My stas are 35 dc#1

I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep as its cooled off a little after all these storms!!
