Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Thanks for all the well wishes guys and congrats on bfps to newcomers . I was wondering if anyone has had sciatica in early preg before? I haven't but now do for whatever reason I'm in absolute agony on my right leg all the way to the foot and have just had to beg DH to go get dd from nursery since I feel like I can't walk very well. I've been researching and it seems that although it much more common in later trimesters some do get it in the first weeks . Wonder if its the hormones . I don't dare to take anything but paracetamol just in case otherwise would go for the nurofen + about now. Interestingly it started around 7-8 dpo when i had a little bit of blood once and wondered if if could have been imp b . Been getting worse and worse ever since then . I thought I'd die in the plane back from our holiday in Turkey but i managed surprisingly well. Looking after dd2y will be a bit tricky with all the lifting etc . DS has just home away to Gp until sun so can't help . Luckily just 2 d until weekend when DH takes her there too and I can just rest . Am wondering how long this will last though . Said about weeks when I looked it up . God I might need a crutch or something

Misty the doctor was awful! Wasn't my usual woman and she was really brisk, kept stressing the risk of miscarriage before 12 weeks (as if I'm not scared enough!) at one point telling me a third of pre-12 week pregnancies miscarry, which I know is not true. I genuinely, hand on heart think I knew more about it all than she did. Angry

And she made me feel so crap as when I told her I'd had af-style cramps for last couple of weeks she said something like "oh dear... Oh well they are fairly common" with a look on her face like I would 100 per cent miscarry. Told me I wouldn't see midwife until 12 week scan and to expect letter in the post. The whole thing left me feeling a bit Sad. Still, spotting seems to have only been a tiny bit of pink cm this morning so fingers crossed it doesn't get stronger.

DP and I were wondering about doing a reassurance scan around 8/9 weeks if I last that long, just to give us another milestone and something to look forward to, think they cost around 100 quid which seems cheap for peace of mind, but maybe it's pointless as could easily still lose it between that time?

Cinnamon I ov'd around cd8 so think my EDD is definitely wrong!

Sorry for the miserable post xx

pyrowall · 30/07/2014 18:16

Sorry you had a crap day brixton sometimes doctors talk a load of shit (I work with medics that think they know everything!!)

Who does this doc think you'll see at your booking in app? A monkey?

ladyflower23 · 30/07/2014 18:17

Hi everyone. It's got fast moving on here now! Nordic I so hope this works out for you. Must be heartbreaking to go through so many losses Sad
I am feeling very paranoid about my lack of symptoms at the moment. Last time I had really sore boobs and nothing else. This time they are only slightly tender and have had some short phases of nausea. I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad but it's hard not to worry. I am thinking of looking for somewhere to get an early private scan to find out if there's actually something there!!!/

ladyflower23 · 30/07/2014 18:18

P.s. hello all the new bfps Smile

lila35 · 30/07/2014 18:22

Sending hugs too you nordic xx

Hello berberena and cinnamon!!

I have spent most of the wondering if its still there, completely irrationally as I've had no spotting, My boobs are still sore, I have a vague tummy ache and back ache and blimey am I hot!!! I hope I'm just being silly and this little one has well and truly stuck, I'm tempted to do another tes.....

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 18:34

Thanks pyro, that strangely made me feel so much better Grin

pyrowall · 30/07/2014 18:40

Glad I could help!
I would normally prescribe a glass of wine! How about a nice glass of elderflower presse?

nightshade1 · 30/07/2014 18:42

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 18:44

Pyro WineGrin x

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 18:45

Lady the only symptoms I really have are cramps, and the odd pain in my boobs but apart from that they feel fine. Oh and I'm absolutely exhausted! I wouldn't worry about lack of symptoms, apparently most don't kick in until the 6/7 week mark x

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 18:46

Welcome on board and congrats nightshade! Your DH must be thrilled x

mummywithLplates · 30/07/2014 18:49

Fingers crossed for you both Nordic a and Brixton x that dr sounds awful! No real symptoms here which is worrying me as I was already very sick with ds1 at the same pointHmm

mummywithLplates · 30/07/2014 18:50

Congratulations nightshade Smile

Lindalove · 30/07/2014 20:01

Okay anyone else doing repeat pregnancy tests as they can't get their head round they are pregnant? Or is it just me.. :)

Only a few tummy cramps so far and a bit of sore boobage but I'm only 4-5 weeks... Nausea is supposed to kick in week 6 yeah?

I've not told a soul save my other half as I'm all a bit superstitious ... Also miscarriage is a higher risk at 38. Fingers crossed bean sticks though - I'm eating salad, no booze, healthy walks... I am starving hungry a lot of the time at the mo.

Misty I know! Thank god for mumsnet huh? I've learn more on here than anywhere else! I'm worried as I'm only 3 plus 5 today so still v early days...

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 20:34

Linda don't starve yourself, eat little and often, you need lots of calcium and iron in your diet - babies need more than salad! Grin

pyrowall · 30/07/2014 20:36

Linda - I'm the same. It was all I can do to not go to Tesco on the way home for some more. I think I've done 6 now - they all say the same!

I am also starving hungry and missing coffee!!!

BrixtonBunny · 30/07/2014 20:39

I've also done lots of tests - didn't do any yesterday but today did a digi and a superdrug. Might stop now! Although I'd like to do a digi next week to see a 2-3 weeks. Fx.

Cisforcat · 30/07/2014 20:42

Evening all!

Just caught up- my first two days back at work have been absolutely manic and right on queue, my DD is teething and not coping too well. Early starts, long shifts and teething DD is not a good combination. BUT on the plus side it is stopping me panic so much about being pregnant as I've been too busy.

I still have no symptoms although having read up on everyone's post I'm guessing that is actually normal. ( I love all the support- so puts minds at rest!)
I'm 5 weeks today so in my mind I've reached the next weekly milestone.

Congrats and welcome to the new joiners and nordi I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi everyone, I'm starting to get my head around being pregnant now and am actually feeling quite excited! I only have very mild symptoms at the moment - a bit of boob ache and mild waves of nausea. I think last time it started to ramp up around 6wks so we should enjoy this time of feeling relatively OK!

cis that sounds like a tough return to work - I'm sure it will get better as your DD gets used to the new arrangements - is she is nursery? Did you tell work that you are pregnant yet? I hope that goes OK.

brixton that GP sounds like a nightmare. The best thing that you can do at this stage is relax as much as possible. I hate the way medics wind women up about pregnancy...

linda - salad??! I have been munching carbs!!

Cisforcat · 30/07/2014 21:31

Thanks roastpots.
No I haven't told them yet as I haven't seen my line manager and tbh im so so worried about it. Once I've done it and told them I'm sure I'll feel fine- I just worry they are going to be really hacked off. ( I know I'm entitled to have a family but I just feel bad as I have gone back in a new role too that I it just before I went on maternity. )

Anyhow- I'm sure it will all settle down soon. Doesn't help that I'm prob getting more tired now due to this pregnancy just as I'm getting used to early early starts and long days again ( no rest for the wicked hey!)

Brixton I hope your not too worried about what your GP said. Sounds like they have 0 people skills or tact! Keep positive and remember that most pregnancies are actually all fine :)

I'm really scared about telling my boss too cis - the timing doesn't work out so well work-wise. I don't know whether to tell her earlier, so that she (we) have plenty of time to put things in place to cover my mat leave or wait until the last possible moment! Last time I waited until after my 12 wk scan but we have loads of meetings at the moment planning up the next year etc which is making me feel super awkward.

ladyflower23 · 30/07/2014 22:28

Brixton I missed your post earlier about your GP visit. What a COW!!! Can people not understand this is your BABY!! We KNOW miscarriage is common, we need reassurance not 'prepare yourself for the worst'. LOADS of pregnant women get spotting and go full term. OK our little embros look like prawns right now, but they are babies to us. grrrrr!
Cis, it's so horrible going back to work isn't it. I am sure you will feel better when it's out in the open too. Is hard having to reveal early, but then at least you can stop worrying about it.
Misty, am also tempted to buy another CB digi test at the weekend to check my number of weeks!!
