Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Thanks Wiggly and cinnamon, I'll call the GP today. A quick google yesterday told me it's fairly common to have spotting in early pregnancy but it's hard to know whether it's harmless or means something isn't right. Fingers crossed it's all ok.

WigglyBraddins · 15/08/2014 09:04

Thank you cinnamon that is reassuring Smile

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 09:41

Got an appointment for later today so will see what the GP says. It felt weird telling the receptionist I'm pregnant - the first time I've told anyone in real life except DH. Do hospitals usually do early scans at weekends or will I have to wait til next week?

RiverRocks · 15/08/2014 10:16

So sorry to hear your news even Flowers

Banana, it depends on your health authority. Mine used to do weekends, but now they only do it during the week. Budget cuts, I think.

I'm another one who's struggling with bloat. I am eating a lot of bread to help with the nausea, which I don't eat usually, and my tummy has blown up. I'm still the same weight, so it's just a bread belly at the minute. Unfortunately, my work clothes are all quite fitted, so not sure how long I can hide it for! Good thing it's gone cold enough for cardigans again Grin

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 10:17

Thanks River - guess I'll have to wait and see.

Phryn · 15/08/2014 10:20

Banana and Bradley I hear you... I've been having some very light spotting (light brown, not very much) since Sun. One day I had only one spot but it's still a bit concerning - even though I know that some women pass more blood and pregnancies that go safely through to term.

Saw the GP this morning who was lovely. He gave me the number of the EPU and said it was up to me if I wanted to call them - but they are happy to help even with a tiny bit of spotting. Have called and left an answerphone message. Now feel more nervous than I did before I knew I could access the EPU! I think it will all be fine and I'm trying not to stress. My old wish for totally accurate mini 8 balls implanted in each human still stands. It would be so helpful to be able to shake your wrist and ask "will I safely deliver a healthy baby in April" and get an accurate answer!

Also now have first appt with midwife booked in for 1st Sept (I'll be 9 weeks by then). Hang on in there little bean!

Phryn · 15/08/2014 10:22

Meant to add spotting has ranged from one spot to quite a bit!

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 10:27

Phryn tell me about it! It's the not knowing that makes everything so difficult. I'm not very good at just sitting and waiting!

Mine is very light again today, just a hint of light brown so I'm taking that to be a good sign, but know what you mean about the fact that you're considered risky enough to get checked out making you worry more.

Rustyzilla · 15/08/2014 10:36

even so sorry to hear your news, look after yourself and best wishes for the future Thanks

Ladies with spotting, sorry you are all having to worry so much, my mum had bleeding with me 34 years ago and here I am! Fingers crossed all is well for all of you.

I am still feeling knackered but no other symptoms really which is starting to worry me. I had my appointment card through from hospital yesterday and first up is a thyroid appointment on Wednesday (I have an underactive thyroid) followed by scan and bloods on 26 September and a consultant appt on 24 Oct. No mention of midwife appointment though? Anyone else consultant lead?

dancestomyowntune · 15/08/2014 10:49

think i will be Rusty. blood pressure is a major concern and have dodgy kidneys. Sad

BitchPeas · 15/08/2014 11:13

Sorry for your loss even Flowers

Sorry for you ladies worrying with spotting. It is so stressful but Fx it's completely harmless for you Flowers

I peed on a cb digi last night and it's gone up from 1-2 to 2-3 so that's reassured me a little bit! My boobs are only tender on and off, my fridge smells gross to me I can smell every single food in there! This morning is the first morning I've got serious nausea, 5 weeks tomorrow so it's started early. Gp took my blood pressure and it's already high, I had pre eclampsia with DS so that's a bit worrying!

Can't wait for 7 week scan on the 3rd September with consultant. Booking in with midwife 10th September, still waiting for 12 week scan date but not sure if my consultant will do it due to problems last time! Still can't really believe it or let myself get excited.

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 11:21

Great news about the digital test BitchPeas - I've actually just ordered a two-pack from Amazon with plans to test next week and week after to check HCG is going up (obsessed, me?). Nausea not so nice but might give you some more reassurance?

LadyNovember · 15/08/2014 12:14

Hey ladies. Hope everyone is feeling ok today. Sending positive vibes to those worrying about spotting.

I'm just embarking on a 6-7 hour coach ride. I'm a crap traveller so have had to have promethazine given by GP as I can't take my usual travel sickness pills. Feeling really anxious as I hate getting sick! Also hate taking any medication whilst pregnant but needs must!

Still been struggling with AF type cramps too, keep googling them 726252 times a day to try and reassure myself. Even though I've read hundreds of women staying it's completely normal, I just can't relax.

The second trimester can't come quick enough!! Xx

ChickenMe · 15/08/2014 12:46

Lady hopefully your cramps are normal. I had cramps a few days before my missed period and I was convinced it was on its way. All thru the week after the missed period I had cramps too. They've gone now.

Urgh I really feel nauseous now. Yesterday I took some raw carrots to work. I looked at them and felt sick! Poor carrots. They're so inoffensive! The thought of them now makes me retch!!

PollyBirdy · 15/08/2014 12:58

So I have some good news to share :)

Just had my early scan and all seems perfect so far - even saw its heartbeat even though it is teeny weeny (3mm). Very excited, shed a little tear or two and had a naughty piece of carrot cake to celebrate! Obviously still far too early to have any guarantees, but it is the best outcome I could have hoped for today, so very chuffed with that. It is also slowly restoring my faith in my body to actually be able to do this baby making business!! (After 3 years of trying and no luck).

Good luck to everyone with spotting worries this week, must be so stressful, so thinking of you all xxx

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 12:59

I had some quite bad ones LadyNovember but they've not been around for a week or so (I'm 6+2 today).

I was with ds2 Rustyzilla but had booking appt with midwife, although they didn't decide until booking as it was due to my weight. I had 16 week appt with consultant but 28wk one was with midwife, saw consultant again at 32wk and he signed me off clc at 36wk check so has 38 and 40 wk ones with midwife and she did 2 s&s for me. I am 30kg lighter this time so should be MLC hopefully!

littleluna89 · 15/08/2014 13:01

lady I had cramps through most of my pregnancy last time, and I got a stitch every time I walked round for more than about 10 minutes, didn't stop me taking the 30 minute walk to and from town every day for chips once I was on mat leave though (I started as early as I could because I was finding it difficult to keep up at work)

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 13:02

Sorry x-post PollyBird, that's great news! I always cry at scans :)

Kelbells · 15/08/2014 13:05

Morning ladies!

So sorry to hear your news even... I hope you're being looked after x

Those with bleeding, just another voice to add to the 'don't think the worst' comments. I bled (not just spotted) all through my pregnancy with DS and he was fine and healthy... I had experienced 2 mc's before him so was utterly panicking all the way through... So, I know it's super hard to be positive about it!

Would someone update my details on the stats list (I'm on my phone) - I'm 36, this is DC#2 and my EDD is 25th April (although I ovulated early so by my calculations it should be April 23rd!)

I'm not having any nausea yet but have a lot of cramping and the tiredness hit me like a train yesterday afternoon.... I'm a SAHM so thought it wouldn't be as hard this time, not having to be hitting deadlines and the like - but the 22 month old is a damn slave driver! We generally don't let him watch TV but I think I might end up starting him off with a secret Peppa Pig habit in the afternoons so I can rest my eyes ssssh, don't tell DH!.

Anyone else contemplating a home birth? We had DS in the midwife led unit but have moved to Devon since and only have the hospital ward as an option here which I'm not keen on... Really hoping I can have this one in the relaxed comfort of my own home!

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 13:06

Great news PollyBird - how far along are you?

I had a bit of pink blood before when I went to the loo (seems to have stopped now) so am more worried again. Dr appointment this afternoon and have seen I can self refer to EPU which is open tomorrow morning so I might pop along and see if they can offer any reassurance. How on earth am I meant to manage like this for another 8 weeks?!

PollyBirdy · 15/08/2014 13:07

ladynovember hope you're surviving the coach so far! That sounds awful having to endure the the trip. Have you tried those travel wrist bands? I guess if you're a really bad traveller they mightn't be much use - they always seem to be listed on 'miracle cures for morning sickness' lists but i haven't tried them myself. I might have to invest in some before the nausea gets worse - I has my first wave of queasiness on the rush hour tube yesterday evening, urgh! The tube seemed to smell of sweaty beery men and rotten orange peel (???), it just turned my stomach!

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 13:08

Thanks Kelbells all positive stories help - nice to know everything could be totally fine. I would consider a home birth but think for my first I'd feel safer in a midwife led unit.

Kelbells · 15/08/2014 13:09

Polly... Awesome news - and now I want carrot cake to celebrate too!

Lady - feeling your cramps pain - they're normal... But very uncomfortable Hmm

PollyBirdy · 15/08/2014 13:11

Hi banana, I thought I was 6w exactly, but sonographer today dated me at only 5w3d. So I have lost 4 days! Given how slowly time is passing at the moment that is a bit of a shame! :) Roll on 12w.
