Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Thanks polly for the reassurance. I do a lot of relaxation/meditation stuff so using the breath to help relax is definitely a cunning plan.

Wiggly you'll be in my thoughts and prayers as we both head towards scans on tues. Really hoping the blood flow stops for you and that the scan can give some good news. Hope you can find some good distractions this weekend to make the time passing a bit more bearable x

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 17:25

Sorry to hear your news wiggly I hope you're ok as can be.

Is anyone else exercising? I did my usual Friday morning spin and circuits classes this morning, took it very easy but I am EXHAUSTED! I'm only 4w so didn't think it'd make much of a difference, thinking now that maybe I need to cut back to one class at a time. I put 4 stone on, did no exercise and had a long difficult labour with DD so am hoping this time will be different.

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 17:27

And good luck Phryn too obviously. Sorry I am terrible with names and remembering to reply to everything I've just read.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 17:34

I'm still running Stopeatingthatmud, it's definitely tougher! I've got a race in 5 weeks so I'm trying to keep my pace until then but afterwards will just plod round my runs so I'm a bit more comfortable until I really can't manage it anymore!

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 17:53

I wish I liked running cinnamon but I've just never been able to get into it. I need someone stood at the front of the room shouting at me I think!

How long is your race?

BitchPeas · 15/08/2014 18:03

I swim regularly StopEating and the last week I have been so out of breath! I really want to keep it up though, I was the same as you with my DS, 5 stone weight gain, no exercise, long hospital stays for pre eclampsia and a difficult long labour. Really want it to be different this time!

So sorry Wiggly be kind to yourself and take care Flowers

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 18:34

Random distance of 9.24 miles! It's leg 7 of the round Norfolk relay which is 17 legs from 5 to 22 miles around the outside of Norfolk. I really don't want to let me club down as it's the first time I've been given a leg but running has been tough going the last few weeks!

ChickenMe · 15/08/2014 19:33

Hi mud I was too knackered to exercise at 4 weeks. I felt so tired I could cry. I don't feel as bad now. The tiredness was worse before I tested and for about a week after.
Am keeping up my gym stuff because atm having big carb cravings esp crisps and chips!

scratchandsniff · 15/08/2014 20:00

Wiggly I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, big hugs.

Even I'm really sorry to hear your news. Good luck for the future.

Bloody hell early pregnancy really is a rollercoaster. In a way I wish it was like the old days when women didn't find out they were pregnant until they were about 8 weeks.

BIL has just told us that SIL is pregnant and due in Feb. They also have one DS who is a week younger than our DS. Was very hard not to blurt out our news.

Now where are my PJ bottoms.........

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 20:15

Well I might just have found my first symptom - sweetcorn straight from the can (usually one of my favourite foods) tastes really odd. Not sure if it's a dodgy can or just me.

The only other thing I've noticed is feeling much more out of breath when climbing the stairs up from the tube in the mornings. I used to run up, now I'm huffing and puffing when I reach the top!

I also feel slightly nauseous but I think that's worry more than anything else.

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 20:19

BitchPeas I had such horrendous swelling and raised blood pressure I was being monitored for pre eclampsia but managed to avoid it thankfully. I hope we get our exercise mojo back soon.

Ooh blimey cinnamon that's good going! Good luck, will you try and more club running after or just see how it goes?

chicken I tested four days early due to being so inhumanly (new word) tired, I knew something was up! I'm swinging between being asleep at 9.30 and wide awake till 1am this week frustratingly.

If I get nausea similar to last time there's a danger of me living on beige food and ice cold seven up again so I need to do something to combat the stodge!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 20:59

I've got a 10k in October and a half marathon in November I've already paid for StopEatingThatMud but it's only me so I can take it slowly! One of the ladies on my parkrun thread had a runner at their parkrun that ran until 30 weeks just slower. I had loads more energy in my second trimester with both boys so will just see. Might have to take up swimming, it's just much more expensive!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 21:00

That's lovely scratchandsniff, so wish mine had cousins close in age :(

wiggly some people get what looks like periods throughout their pregnancy, it's rare but it happens, a friend of ours gave birth early not knowing she'd even been pregnant because she was still getting what she thought to be periods! Fx everything looks fine when you go to your scan xx

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 21:20

I really fancy giving park run a try cinnamon but my local one is on a Saturday. I've worked Saturday's for the past two years but finally finish at the end of this month :)

I'm guessing 8 weeks-ish pregnant is not a good time to commence my running career is it?!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 21:25

They're always Saturdays StopEatingThatMud, I think they recommend you don't start exercise while pregnant but it sounds like you're quite fit anyway. I love love love parkrun, such a fab community we have people from 5 to 74 years old and running in 16 to 45 mins at ours. Planning to volunteer every Saturday once I can't run or perhaps tail run so I can walk round some weeks :)

Wineandchoccy · 15/08/2014 21:30

Fingers crossed wriggly and phryn hugs to both of you.

I've booked my booking in appointment today for 4th Sept when I will be 8 weeks. How come time goes so slowly when you are a few weeks pregnant?

I've just had a chippy tea because I was late home from work and it tasted disgusting not sure if rubbish chippy or symptoms!

StopEatingThatMud · 15/08/2014 21:47

Is it 5k? I did insane terrain last year which is a mud / obstacle courses type thing and managed to do two laps of that which totalled 10k in an hour but I think that was more getting caught up in the moment than running ability. Park run near us is through our local country park, it's one of my most favourite places in the world.

wine I booked my booking appointment today too, Sept 10th, I'll also be 8 weeks. Managed to get the first appointment of the day thank goodness.

I'm still clinging onto my taste buds, I'm hoping I might get a big load of batch cooking done and frozen this week before I lose all inclination to cook. I cannot stop drinking Pukka Tea's at the moment, three ginger and peppermint and liquorice are keeping me going!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 21:48

Yes 5k :)

WigglyBraddins · 15/08/2014 21:52

littleluna thank you for posting that about your friend, it's reassuring. All this support is definitely helping.

HippoPottyMouth · 15/08/2014 22:01

Oh and I had a home birth with DD2, I was planning one for #1 too, but waters went and no labour for 2 days with her so had to be in hospital for DD1.

It is nice being at home, but I was the second homebred of the night and felt they midwives rushed off a bit soon after and I ended up having to go to the hospital a couple of hours later with a PPH so spent the day there anyway. I don't think I'll be allowed to have another one now, after that, but don't mind too much anyway, they have a nice birthing unit here.

My main worry is whether I'll get there as DD2 was 3 hours from first contraction and I think the general rule of thumb is that the time in labour halves each time. If DH is at work he'll have no chance of getting back!

Plenty of time to worry about that though :-o

BinarySolo · 15/08/2014 23:18

Fingers crossed for both wriggly and phryn.

How do they manage the mess of birth if you're at home? Does the midwife bring rubber sheets? Sorry if I'm being thick. My house is rented and I could just imagine being handed the baby then looking at the carpet and thinking, 'well, that's the deposit gone'!

Squatting textbook answer about having a second premature labour would be no. I went into labour at 34.5 weeks with ds1. No reason, although I suspect it was due to falling the week before but the doctors disagreed. Ds2 was born at 39 weeks.
