Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

HippoPottyMouth · 14/08/2014 21:33

Hello!
I got a v v faint line this morning, to the point I am not sure if I was imagining it, but that is exactly what happened with the first two..
Right now I am slightly in denial and having a glass of wine just in case it's my last chance for some time. I'll come back with full stats tomorrow if I get a proper line in the morning, but if not good luck everybody and sorry for those that have already left the thread. X

prevlurker123 · 14/08/2014 21:46

Hippo...I also savoured a final glass of wine...nursed it over hours and enjoyed every last sip!

PollyBirdy · 14/08/2014 22:07

Oh Evan I am so sorry - sending you lots of hugs xxx

Haha squattingneville, I will check out your contraband doppler! thanks for the link.

Thanks carebear :)

Good luck test again hippo, look forward to the update!

ladyflower - good to know about you friend, thanks for sharing that. I have asked a couple of fertility experts who both independently said I wouldn't need extra progesterone, so at least I have checked. Im going to ask again at my booking appt next week as well just to make sure. It seems to be that progesterone is given during fertility treatment to mimic natural pregnancy hormones, so as I'm pregnant naturally they said I won't need it. I fully admin I'm probably worrying too much but just want to make sure I have covered all bases!!

Huge congrats Lila, so glad your little bean is a sticky one. I had the ET but it didn't cling on to be a bfp -
keeping everything crossed for you x

EssenceOfGelfling · 14/08/2014 22:26

So sorry to hear that even Flowers

I had a glass of wine last night to avoid awkward questions at a meal out. I felt so drunk afterwards - and then extremely thirsty. Drank about 3 pints of water in the night and surprisingly little pee. I was so thirsty I started to google whether it was something bad (and how much you have to drink before coma inducing...), and came across some good old mumsnet discussions on it!

Also got the maternity clothes out of the loft as I had to spend all day at work with the top button undone on my trousers... sadly its not baby bump just bloating and extra food to avoid the nausea. Oh dear!

StopEatingThatMud · 14/08/2014 23:58

Having spent the last two nights catching up on previous posts I'm going to jump in and say hi!

Got a faint positive Monday and a clearer one yesterday, this will be #2 for us if bean sticks, I'm 27 and by my dates I think I'm 4w1, due around April 22nd.

Told work today as I was asked to change role yesterday and couldn't bring myself to accept and then potentially have to tell them in 2 months I'd be wanting mat leave! DP not best pleased I've blabbed already but in all honesty if anything was to go wrong I think I'd rather they knew.

Not told family yet, my mum had two late losses (32w+)sso my parents were more worried than excited with DD1 and DP's mum will want to tell the world so may just keep it quiet for a little longer if we can.

No real symptoms other than being hugely dramatic when DD threw up in the car just as we got home tonight and my super sensitive sense of smell meant DP had to deal with it to stop me being sick too, ah the glamour of pregnancy!

evenhasawatermark · 15/08/2014 06:53

Thank you everyone, dp came back yesterday as soon as I found out, business will just have to wait a while.
Thank you all for your support, threads like these are amazing x

dancestomyowntune · 15/08/2014 07:04

Sorry even Thanks for you and good luck in the future

CareBearWithFangs · 15/08/2014 07:05

BrixtonBunny · 15/08/2014 07:23

Even thinking of you in such a difficult time. Hope you and DP can take some time together to grieve and comfort each other. XxxThanksThanksThanks

ladyflower23 · 15/08/2014 07:48

I'm sorry to hear your sad news even. Lots of love & luck to you and your DP for the future Flowers

ladyflower23 · 15/08/2014 07:52

Lila I'm just down the road in portslade. Are you planning on the royal Sussex for your birth?
Polly that makes sense about if natural pregnancy prog not needed.I always think unexpected babies were meant to be anyway and will turn out all well (although I'm one of those so might be biased Grin)

Wherediparkmybroom · 15/08/2014 08:10

Still waiting for the midwife to call but I think they are really busy here at the minute, still eating like a pig all the time! I wake up in night hungry!!!!

WigglyBraddins · 15/08/2014 08:19

Sorry about your news even. Sending lots of love and hugs and good luck for the future. Take care xxx

WigglyBraddins · 15/08/2014 08:22

Ooof, I'm waiting for a phone call this morning to find out if I'm having an emergency scan today or on Monday to see if the bean has stuck as my bleeding is continuing. Keeping everything crossed that this is just one of those things and all is well. Definitely different to pregnancy with DS though, but I'm guessing my uterus is a very different shape to what it was before having him!!!

BananaToast · 15/08/2014 08:30

So sorry to hear your news Even.

Is anyone else still POAS? Did another internet cheapie this morn and the line is getting darker - tiny bit of reassurance the isn't all in my head! Especially as I'm still spotting - mainly brown but had a tiny bit of red yesterday. Hoping this is just a bit of breakthrough bleeding when my period should have been. At what point should I get it checked out? It's so early (approx 4 weeks) I don't know that there's anything that can be done is there? Too early to see anything on a scan I think?

WigglyBraddins · 15/08/2014 08:34

Banana I'm 4+6 and went to the GP yesterday because I'd been bleeding lightly for 6 days. She's finding out when I can go in for an emergency scan. It'll be today or Monday so I think they would be able to see something. I'm hoping mine is just breakthrough bleeding too as it is when I'd normally have my period. Is that a thing that can happen then? Hope your bleed stops soon xx

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 08:42

Glad your dh is home evenhasawatermark! Pop back and let us know how you're getting on.

Sorry to hear you're worrying about spotting BananaToast and WigglyBraddins, I've said before but I had quite a bit with ds2 and hadn't with ds1 so I was a total nervous wreck on the morning of my scan! He's now a strapping almost 4 year old and I had a very healthy pregnancy resulting in a 9lb 2 baby. I know not everyone is the same but I how I can give a little reassurance. I don't feel as nervous this time, don't know if it's just the spotting or because we meticulously planned this one whereas we were supposed to be waiting a bit longer before we tried for him.

BinarySolo · 15/08/2014 08:46

So sorry to hear your news even. Best of luck for the future.

BinarySolo · 15/08/2014 08:51

Ds1 is now an annoying 3 year old (lovely too, but he's currently telling off ds2 for no reason so more annoying at present!) I spotted during early pregnancy with him.

I then fell over in late pregnancy and my waters broke at 33.5 weeks and he was born a week later. He was perfectly fine apart from having jaundice.

dancestomyowntune · 15/08/2014 08:52

Banana i poas on wednesday, on a clearblue digi. had a scan on tuesday and they were very vague about dates (no hb yet), and a week can seem a long time at this stage! they were pushing my dates back two weeks, to four weeks instead of six, but when i poas i got 3+ since conception which i translate to 5+ weeks. Grin not that i'm arguing with the professionals at all Grin

i also think, as it was a trainee sonographer, she may not have been that sure of what she was seeing, as i did think i saw a heartbeat at one point. Sad next scan booked for the 26th so hopefully by then we'll see lots more. Grin

on a seperate note my 'secret' seems to be fast becoming common knowledge Sad unfortunately dd1 guessed very early on and i explained we wouldnt get excited until the 12 week scan. because i have already had a scan she thought that meant she could tell people Grin oops!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/08/2014 08:53

I can't see my two guessing but dss might. 1st October is a long way off!!!
