Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

SK28 I'm 17+6 today. And I think the little one was right up near the top of my uterus yesterday, thumping up towards my diaphragm - I think that's why I felt it so clearly for the first time. It was kind of unmistakeable, whereas everything else has been lower down, so harder to differentiate from possible gut stuff. To be honest, I only really believed some of what I was feeling was movement when the MW listened in for the heartbeat at 16w and told me the swooshing we were hearing was movements & I started to be able to correlate some of the sensations with the sounds. I'm sure your little one will start to make themselves felt soon!

I hope the days fly by till your 16w appt Blizy and you find it very reassuring.

Oh your poor DSis Mad. Hope things get moving for her asap.

One week till my "20 week" scan - whoohoo!

17+6

Oh thanks Mad, that makes me feel much better - at my 12 week scan I was told my placenta is at the front so maybe that's why! Thank you!

Loobyloo893 · 12/08/2014 08:58

Sk28 my placenta was at front with DS. It def reduces how much movement u feel and how early it is. Obv its different for everyone depending on where exactly the placenta is but for me I had to be lying down on my side to feel him.

Yeah having all the extra scans will be lovely. Smile

Loobyloo893 · 12/08/2014 08:58

17+6 (oops)

Saraswati · 12/08/2014 09:32

20 week scan tomorrow and of course now is the time the baby has decided to be very quiet. I've been feeling pokey kicks in the last few days but I guess the baby must have moved position.

I was getting really excited about tomorrow but now I'm just nervous!!

Hi everyone I feel like I just pop in here to mental everyday!!

20+4

ViviPru · 12/08/2014 09:40

Ahh the dreaded scanxiety Sara - you'll be on that bed and marvelling at what an incredible thing you've created on that blurry screen of ancient technology before you know it.

Mad your poor SiL Sad hope she's through the worst of it soon!

What Mad said. With DS I had an anterior placenta, so he kicked against it, meaning I didn't feel kicks till later, and then probably not as intensely.

Apparently it's reasonably common, and not a problem at all, as long as they have it on your notes.

rumisyum · 12/08/2014 10:45

Pru did your dates get changed again at the 20 week scan?

I love the look of this hippy alternative to baby showers - blessingway.

OP posts:
ViviPru · 12/08/2014 11:21

Nah, they said they don't change them after 12wk (although I've read elsewhere that they do Confused ) I just add the scan EDD as it feels like I am working to two dates.

OMG I bloody love the sound of the blessingway - right up my street. We had a celebrant-led marriage ceremony with a native American inspired blessing so this sounds very apt. Now how to convince friends and family it's their idea to throw one...

Morning All, - have posted on FB page, so a shameless C&P jobbie -

Have consultant later and being a bit of a buffoon I cant think straight so worrying I missed something - what questions do I need to ask?

My main one is "How are you going to guarantee everything is ok" - which is a bit silly but all I need to know (as with us all!) so my actual questions are all variations on this. Anyone wearing a sensible head today and think of anything I will have missed? (only been pondering this for a week!!)

Did have a catch up read - but only one I remember is Madrigals hope DSis is holding up ok, and DN makes entrance to the world soon!

ooo lovely newborn snuggles mad ! Just think it'll be you next :D

Hope your appointment goes well sleep I always find it useful to make DH write down my questions for appointments (if he's going with you) then he kinda looks at the list as we talk and makes sure we've talked about everything. He's coming with me to mine next week so I'll get him to do the same thing.

Baby has been moving today, just flutters, no kicks, which to be honest I only really feel in the evenings anyway. Its just this bloody scanxiety kicking in again!!

A blessing way sounds awesome, but i fear my friends and family would laugh their heads off. They view me as somewhat of a lentil weaver and I already have had to have a stern talk with my mother when she tried to tell me that all children need to eat meat grrrrrrrr.

Just realised how many posts are on this board. What a bunch of chatterboxes hee.

ViviPru · 12/08/2014 17:26

Glad to hear Jesus is making its presence felt again, Sara

I've finally found a pregnancy yoga class, good hour round trip but hey ho, starts tonight at 8. I'd have liked one closer for potential social side but I'm starting Zest4Birth class on Thursday which is just up the road so hopefully I can limpet myself onto new pregnancy FRIENDS get to know people there. Smile

RPopz · 12/08/2014 18:12
