Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Hello Hellomist! Lovely to see you on here. We had IUI (same sex couple) which had some of the same elements as IVF. I felt like I had the most photographed ovaries ever!

Glad to hear that you are feeling better Dec. That sounds utterly terrifying but it sounds like you kept a cool head. Fx it was just a nasty scare and you will be fine now.

We are having a very baby themed weekend. Going to have lunch with a friend who has a three month old, can't wait for baby cuddles! Tomorrow we are also seeing some friends with a toddler which should be fun. Our chickens are usually a hit with toddlers.

Blizy your poor cat! Sounds exactly like the kind of thing my cats would do. I hope he's feeling better now. I am typing this on my laptop with a cat trying to sit on the keyboard and insistently demanding that I pay him more attention than the thread, so I better go for kitty snuggles.

blizy I'm not so worried as I was yesterday. But in truth I don't think I'll stop worrying until this little one is in my arms. Sorry to hear about your cat hope he's better today.

Loving all the positive 20 week scan news. My 20 week scan isn't until the 21st trying to be excited by it instead of worrying about it .

DS is having a day out with my nephew and my parents. I'm having a lovely day, just had a friend over for coffee and I just received a whole box full of a book I illustrated the end of lat year. Oooo and I also have my Mac Book back and in full working order. Just wish I was up to going to out with DS and family but know the resting is best thing for baby so feet up on sofa instead.

mummyk8 · 09/08/2014 13:05

Oops pressed send too soon.

Dec I'm so pleased all seems ok with you an bump.

18 + 6 today

Keepontrudging · 09/08/2014 13:58

Dec that is shocking they made you wait around like that. Glad you had reassurance in the end. Hope it stops for you soon. We are all here for you :)

Mummyk8 I know the feeling. I have had a worrisome pregnancy and feel I won't relax until baba is here either.

Dec2013mummy · 09/08/2014 18:39

Mummyk8 I'm glad you have had a nice relaxed day to yourself. We had the long journey home and I have been in bed since. Dh has not let me lift a finger, he has sorted Ds out, is sorting dinner and then is finishing the shopping order :)
I know we are just 'customers' but some are not empathetic or caring at all! Some of the doctors and nurses we saw last night how ever were fantastic! :) I know what you mean about worrying. My pregnancy with Ds was far from plain sailing and so this time around I was so relaxed as I had been so well! I don't think relaxed is the right word now however. I'm so determined not to get too stressed about it though as that won't help little one at all!

Dec2013mummy · 09/08/2014 18:42

Oh and I meant to say a big big thanks you to everyone gr their kind words and support. You are all amazing and I am so gal I have you all to chat to, especially as in RL sometimes you just don't feel like talking or can't be 100% honest as you don't want to worry people.
Brew here's to our precious little ones :)

Dec2013mummy · 09/08/2014 18:42

Sorry for the typos!! Once again I have fat fingers :/

mummyk8 · 09/08/2014 18:55

Dec2013mummy I'm so pleased you made it home ok and that DH is looking after you and chasing around after DS. Take advantage of it and rest as much as possible. I know I'm not one to talk as I'm painfully board of resting - hehehe.

deuscat · 09/08/2014 21:48

Dec glad to hear there's nothing to worry about.

I'm having some strange feelings which I think might be baby. Kind of feels like being flicked from the inside. I only seem to notice it when I'm lying down not doing much. It's been happening the last few days now. Anyone else feeling baby like this? As it's my first it's hard to know what it is I'm feeling, but it does feel distinct from digestive feelings!

So glad to hear all is well DecMummy, and your DH is looking after you so well.

Have fun on your hols Cheshire!

Aw, so glad you got another peek at the sprout and all was well BabySprout.

Sounds like you guys made off like bandits, Katniss! Good one.

Your poor kitty blizy! I hope they're much better by now.

sunshine and mummyk8 your weekends sound lovely.

Deus yes, that's just how it's been feeling for me too. Still pretty subtle - can't wait till it's proper kicks. Smile

Feeling very pregnant today - this belly suddenly seems to be growing, it's all feeling very stretchy & uncomfortable in there. And yesterday I spent the day with a friend who coerced me into buying my first pair of non-exercise trainers (leopard print converse) as it was apparently time for me to join the ranks of the "yummy mummy". Ha! We'll see how that one works out. Wink

Also got my first belly rubs this weekend! Smile First from the friend I saw yesterday (quite a close friend, so it was rather lovely), then from my FIL, who greeted me by going straight for the belly. LOL. It's already clear who's going to be the centre of attention in future family get-togethers then. Grin

Good Morning all! Sorry, its been an age since I posted. Things have been a bit crappy for one reason or another this end, but I have still been catching up on everyone with interest.

Sorry to hear some have been going through major stresses too. Dec glad all well, what a worry for you!

Deus same position here, and for a few weeks now. Gradually getting stronger and stronger little kicks. What a feeling, I could conquer the world!

Rum I live in my purple leopard print converse, good choice.

Scan a week tomorrow, woo hoo!

Morning ladies. Hope everyone is well and having a relaxing weekend. I wasn't sure to start with, but now think I can definitely feel my little bean wiggling about. A sort of flicky bubble..... what a glorious, wonderful thing! xx

SK28 · 10/08/2014 12:02

Morning ladies :) I've been away on holiday and just enjoyed catching up with all I missed this week.

My sister cane away with us and gave me and bump a lovely gift - it's called a Bola, and is a Mexican tradition. A little chiming necklace that hangs low over your bump so the baby can hear the gentle tinkle of the chime and then when it's born should find the same chime soothing - isn't that a lovely thing?! Thought I'd mention it in case anyone fancies one or it would make a good present for mum-to-be friends :)

Felt very pregnant on holiday - quite self conscious in my bikini which surprised me. Got home and ordered a more modest tankini for next trip!

deuscat · 10/08/2014 13:04

Rum I've also been wondering when I'll adopt a mummy uniform Grin

SK28 what a lovely gift!

I haven't had any contact from anyone about joining the Facebook group. Can anyone help?

Keepontrudging · 10/08/2014 13:47

Rum I adore my grey converse- they go with everything f and are SUPER comfy :( welcome to motherhood !

Dec- glad thins are looking up for you.

RPopz · 10/08/2014 14:30

Oooh I've got some dog walking converse but they are always covered in mud and cowpats haha. I'll have to get myself some new yummy mummy ones Wink

deus I've pm-ed you - in case no one else has yet xx

Thank you for the welcome messages!

Got my 16w midwife appointment tomorrow. I hope she'll try to listen for the HB... and find one! Not sure what else to expect.

rumisyum wow, you were very lucky to conceive naturally just before your IVF was due to start. I'm glad it happened for you after the long wait. :) My own experience of IVF wasn't too bad, but of course to do it naturally is always preferable where possible (it's not in our case).

sunshineandbiscuits thanks for responding, glad to see someone else who got here through a similar route. :) I think after fertility treatment it's felt like a much longer journey to get to the point in pregnancy I am now. It took me a while to stop worrying, because at least in the first trimester it seemed like it could be taken away again from me so easily, and it would be more difficult for me to conceive again.

I haven't felt any movement yet. I'm quite impatient to! I thought I had bubbles on one side but wasn't sure if it was normal bowel stuff.

SK28 I like the sound of the Mexican Bola!

I clearly choose the right trainers! Wink

HelloMist we know that somehow we got very lucky. Counting our blessings (and keeping our fingers crossed) every day!

SK28 that sounds so lovely! Especially as I have a chime pendant on a shorter necklace that my husband gave me for my last birthday - goodness knows I find it quite soothing. (He didn't know it chimed when he bought it - just thought he was buying an antique pendant.) I shall have to get a long chain for it!

Had a laid back day baking while my DH and FIL did carpentry. Feeling rather chilled now (and impatient for my cake to cool). Cake

Babysprout · 10/08/2014 16:36

Yay deuscat that's great :-)

HelloMist · 10/08/2014 18:14

rumisyum I feel lucky too... we weren't lucky before IVF, but it worked on my first cycle (without too many side effects), and so far so good :) /touch wood/ glad you had a chilled day.

SK28 · 10/08/2014 18:26

Rum, that's a lovely idea to adapt the pendant you already have!

I've also been baking today, a birthday cake for DH - I've baked biscuits before but am a cake novice so want to get practice in before I'm making birthday cakes for baby every year!

sunshineandbiscuits · 10/08/2014 20:13

Camsie and deus I am pretty sure that I have started feeling the baby during the last two days. It feels like a few bubbles popping and I can only really feel it when I am sitting or lying down and not doing much else. Very exciting Smile

hellomist glad to hear that your IVF journey was not too long and arduous. While IUI is less invasive than IVF, I also very much felt during the first trimester that if things did not work out, it would be a big deal to get pregnant again. Sooo glad to be past that stage now!

DW has been baking again, lemon cake this time. Yum! Such a hardship to be married to a keen baker with an inexhaustible supply of eggs who has been inspired by the Bake Off Wink

We had friends here with their toddler today. She was so much fun, it was lovely to be reminded what comes after the baby stage. Shame that the freak hailstorm prevented us from going to the park and trying out the new splash pad there. Will have to find another child to provide an excuse to go there when it's better weather!

deuscat · 10/08/2014 20:19

Ooh what kind of cake have you baked SK28? I love baking and I made a summer fruit drizzle cake yesterday. It was yummy!

I've cooked a roast chicken dinner today. Trying to hone my traditional mummy skills in prep for the baby. I'm good with roast chicken but need to venture onto other meats. Trouble is I only really like chicken! Grin
