Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Welcome to the fb side duescat :) :)

I had chicken too, love a good roast - even better when the fella makes it (I'm not a cook hehe)

SK28 · 10/08/2014 21:08

Deus I made a lemon cake, same as Sunshine's DW :) It looks good so far but I'm leaving the buttercream for tomorrow. I had a sneaky taste of some crumbs and I'm quite proud of my first effort - very lemony but DH is Greek Cypriot so there's no such thing as too much lemon for him!

rumisyum · 11/08/2014 06:11

Morning all!

Hmm, I made plum pudding cake yesterday, but you've all got me longing for lemon drizzle now. Also, you're making me wish I was having cake for breakfast instead of this porridge. Cake

Cake talk is making me envious - I might have to get baking today!

I think morning sickness has let up for a bit :-) I've had 5 days with none :-) woohoo!!!

Good morning ladies! Well we're in Cornwall and the "storms" haven't troubled us. a few showers but also Blue sky and some sunshine!
Hope you all have a good week! I'm envious of all this cake talk but will have to find a cream tea on our travels today!

Saraswati · 11/08/2014 10:12

mmmm love all this cake talk! might have to whip up some banana or coconut bread when I get home, they are my fav :)

Scanxious levels are increasing over here (scan is on weds), DH thinks it'll all be fine because I can feel it move so therefore everything is ok Hmm not sure I'm convinced by that one but I am feeling less nervous than I did before my 9 and 12 week scans.

What I really can't get my head around is that if everything is fine this will be my last scan! I think I'm going to have to shell out for a private one at 28 or 30 weeks if that is the case. I hate those 3d ones though, they look strange and I want a surprise so don't want to know the sex or see its face!

Madrigals good luck to your DSis!

cheshire sounds like you're having a lovely holiday. Get that cream tea!

Babysprouts glad your ms is dying down. Mine was going strong up till 16 weeks but now is pretty much gone.

SK28 you've inspired me to bake a lemon drizzle cake this week. We're having a cake afternoon at work on Wednesday because of a leaving do and I was wondering what to bake. I love lemon drizzle but hardly ever make it because my DH doesn't like it, so I will make the most of this opportunity Smile

I'm still set on the Roularde cake thanks to vivi! Scott still hasn't made it...

Wow mads how exciting!

Starbright24 · 11/08/2014 17:32

Right...sounds like time for me to go make a lemon drizzle cake Grin
Now..I have managed to break my screen on my phone which is fortunately insured and have a new one. The difficulty is that old phone currently still in use logged me into mums net automatically. I really am not sure if I can get back on here again as I have no idea what my password is. If I can't get back :( see you on fb :)
19 weeks today!

Thanks Mad Scan went well but I've had no internet access all weekend as I've been camping in hurricane Bertha Grin

All was well with the Prulet, at the scan - it was a real fidget though so they couldn't get all of the measurements which means I'll have to go back for a rescan in two weeks which is a bonus! Saw it yawn really animatedly which was utterly spellbinding.

They found I have a low-lying placenta; there was some panic confusion as to whether it was covering the ostium or not but they confirmed today that it's just touching the cervix so there's a good chance it could move. They've booked me in for a scan at 36 weeks (loads of scans - yay!) and I'm feeling positive either way.

Visit to the birth centre was very worthwhile, no unicorns but it seems very patient(mother)-oriented and progressive which is hugely appealing.

Had my consultant anaesthetist appt today too which was also a very useful and reassuring experience.

And in final preggo update news, I bought my first maternity jeans today, these ones from New Look. I was very impressed with the quality and fit, very un-New Looky in that respect. So comfy and look really flattering on. They do them in loads of colours so I'll probably end up with more!

Apologies for me me me post, I'm off for a good read of the thread and catch up of everyone else's weekend....

ViviPru · 11/08/2014 19:00

Tell a lie, these are the jeans I got I think, but they're all very similar....

Those look really nice vivipru did you get them in store or online?

rumisyum · 11/08/2014 20:42

Ooh, hope it all kicks off for your DSis asap Mad. New baby niece/nephew for you today!

I'm totally planning a 3rd trimester scan at some point. I have a friend who does them who's offered me a cheeky peek at the little one sometime, so I'll take them up on the offer! Grin

There's still too much cake talk on here. I've already had my one slice for today. < gazes longingly at cake tin > Cake

ViviPru · 11/08/2014 22:26

Sprout I found them in store - I'm not sure I'd have ordered them online as it was the quality that caught my eye which doesn't come across so well in the pics - IRL they seem really substantial. My legs are a horrid shape so on the vary rare occasion something looks remotely ok I get rapturous about it!

I'd DEFFO be booking a private scan if I weren't already having more at 22 and 36 weeks. There's a clinic near me which has the naffest website on earth and whose sole purpose appears to be selling you vomitsome cutesy scan photo frames, but it's cheap as chips and has an entire page of celebrity clients.... I'm tempted to book in if only for the chance of bumping into some D-lister 90s pop star....

Camsie30 · 11/08/2014 23:48

Vivi I've got the mamas and papas ones and they are so comfy, but annoyingly they don't come in black. Have ordered a lack pair from topshop so will see what they're like.

Have just been kicked. Biggest one so far! Amazing!

Pesto11 · 12/08/2014 03:50

Wow on the kick camsie
Scan news sound brilliant- I can't wait for mine next week
Keep looking at 12 week pic...
Don't know his I'll cope going from 20 week scan to waiting to meet baby at 40 weeks ish! Think a private scan may need to be booked for October time...

I've been up with a tummy that's about to explode- it's rock hard!
And my ribs feel like they are being squashed.
Really really painful
Tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position but no luck yet!
Agghhhh I neeeed sleeeeep

Pesto I feel ur pain on the lack of sleep. Although mine is self inflicted as have a friend staying and even though I kneads would be up early i didn't go to bed early. Oops.

Can't believe all the 20week scans are coming up now. Seems like only five minutes ago we were all waiting for the first ones. I've still got two weeks until mine. We had a private scan at 30 weeks as DH had to miss 20 week one. This time I get a scan every four weeks from 20 weeks so I'll see this baby lots Smile

rumisyum · 12/08/2014 07:36

Morning!

Oh Looby I'm pretty jealous of all your scans! It's such a long while to go with only the odd doppler listen in at the heartbeat, isn't it?

Do it Pru, for the sleb sighting, for us. You know you have to. Wink

That's amazing Camsie. We're EDD twins aren't we? I had my first proper kick yesterday as well! In the middle of a meeting with a client - always so helpful to be completely distracted when I'm trying to concentrate on something else. (Telling me something about their personality already, maybe... Wink)

Contemplating cake for breakfast... Grin Cake

Morning ladies! I've just been sick in my mouth, what's that all about?

Yes I swallowed it. I know, I'm disgusting. But it took me by surprise.

Hi, looby I too will have scans every 4 weeks.

I bought my first pair if maternity jeans last night, next still have them in the sake, bargain! I have started to feel wee Bob move around, love the feeling of the little flutters and it is so reassuring too. I have my 16 week midwife appointment next wed, hoping beyond hope to hear a heart beat. However I am so very anxious about it and terrified of the 20 week scan.
I must think positive.

SK28 · 12/08/2014 08:11

Ooh kicks already Camsie and Rum! How many weeks are you guys? I'm 17+1 and don't think I've felt anything yet - even those little flutters lots of you mention. Baby K was so active at the 12 week scan I'm desperate to feel something but so far nothing apart from aches and pains and stretchy feelings...

I've also been having trouble sleeping lately - so difficult to get comfortable!
