Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Stats here.

Aw sounds lovely. Have a nice day.

sunshineandbiscuits · 07/08/2014 07:41

Morning everyone! 4.15 mad poor you. I have to say that is one aspect of parenthood that I am not quite looking forward to as much. I've been so sleepy this week, it's hard enough getting up at 7am. Definitely a fan of the pillow-between-the-legs though, it's become pretty much essential over the last week as my bump has started to emerge properly.

Loved the Bake Off! DW was amazing and made a yummy apple cake when she got home from work so we could watch and eat cake at the same time. Got to put on that baby weight somehow Grin

Bit frustrated as am trying to sign up for my first pg yoga class at Birthlight. The teacher I really want to try is away until September and no-one is answering the phone or returning my calls/emails. Ah well, will have to keep trying.

sunshine your dw is great! I want someone to make me cake!
We went to kiddicare last night... cotbed I wanted was reduced to £129 but not in Stock so mum is going back today. The aintree store is getting 2 deliveries a day between now and Monday then that's it and closes 7 Sept... sad times!
We did however get a moses basket and stand, changing mat, steriliser set (want to bf but express as well so dh can join in), cot bumper set & a couple of maternity tops for me all for abt £120!
Looked at prams & think I've decided on uppababy... Going to pram world after our holiday (& after 20w scan)!

ilovelamp78 · 07/08/2014 08:19

Morning all! Got the day off today so I'm thinking baking is the way forward...should I go Swiss roll like bake off or carrot cake? Mmmm?!?

My 20 week scan is on the 20th and Hercules is clearly in space wars with my guts right now, woke up feeling quite uncomfortable!

LadyC if you need someone to chat to when you move I'm here for you. Don't have a meltdown on your own! Who knows, maybe I will have perfected my carrot cake by then!

18 weeks today! 20 week scan is on the 22nd. Find myself wishing away this month as I have so much to look forward to towards the end like scan, nephews birthday then my birthday all within a week and absolutely nothing to do to keep me occupied until then. I need a hobby any suggestions?

ViviPru · 07/08/2014 10:00

Definitely Swiss Roll, Lamp! I was surprised how easy it was to make and you can fill it with berries.

So it looks like mine is the first 20 week scan on the bus (tomorrow)... eeee! I've also booked a visit to look round a regional birth centre after my scan. This particular place has been elevated to mythical heavenly status by pretty much every one I talk to. I'm expecting Champney's levels of comfort, midwives that put Ma Larkin's maternal instinct to shame and unicorns bounding through the grounds while bluebirds sing arias as they soar in rainbows above the roof. Anything less and I'm going to get the arse.

19 weeks today!

Pesto11 · 07/08/2014 10:12

Haha! Wow!

Saraswati · 07/08/2014 10:18

Good luck tomorrow vivi what time is your scan? t minus 6 days until mine, getting scanxious!!

Feeling proper shite again this morning and have loads of work to do today as I slacked off yesterday as I was feeling crappy and took monday off. Had a proper moan on the phone to my mum yesterday who helpfully told me she always felt great in her second trimester and maybe I should try and eat more Hmm thanks for the helpful advice mum!

Hey all. No bump no movement but heartbeat still easy to find. I want to feel pregnant again! I've lost interest in everything baby related. Roll on 15th August!

19 weeks today.

missdonsol · 07/08/2014 11:13

Hi all,

I've sent a friend request to Jan Babies. Hope you'll have me :)

Top word sara, 'scanxious'. Definitely starting to feel scanxious too even though I've got ages to wait till my scan.

Kate, I'm not feeling pregnant either, but the bump has started to look less like a sack of potatoes and more like there could be a baby in there!

sleepisforthetired · 07/08/2014 12:01

Awaiting appointment - really feeling nervous now :( it's silly as it's to talk about the past - so why I feel so anxious who knows, not like anything will be a surprise, I was at my son's birth and played it a thousand and one times since!!

KateTheHuman · 07/08/2014 12:07

Aww. Glad it's more bumpy miss. I just feel fat. Because I am haha. But waiting for the bump to outgrow the blubber. On a positive note we've decided on Ellie if it's a girl. And I really want a girl now so I can call her Ellie. :)

Good luck sleep. I hope it all goes well!!

ViviPru · 07/08/2014 12:09

Scan is 10.30am so nice and early, my SiL's is today, she's got all day to wait. She's finding out the sex (we're not) - that side of the family is all boys and she thinks she's having a boy too....

Scanxious is brilliant! Haha missdon my sack of spuds is starting to slowly shape up too!

rumisyum · 07/08/2014 12:11

Baking for your hobby, littlecat! Bake Off will be on telly till we're in our 3rd trimesters, so good time to get started. Wink

"scanxious" - TOP WORD.

Hope your appointment went well sleep.

Feeling a bit tearful for no good reason today. Might take myself somewhere nice for lunch as a bit of a treat. I also need to get on top of things at work though - I've been feeling so useless lately! Ah well, this too shall pass.

Scanxious! Brilliant Smile

Had 16w appointment. All good. Slightly low iron levels so being prescribed iron tablets. Heard heartbeat too which was lovely. Asked about induction/c section. She was lovely about it and said it was totally up to me. I could refuse induction and opt for c section or if blood pressure was ok I could wait it out and see if I go into labour naturally. Grin

Just had my 20w appt. Listened to heartbeat again. DS came too and loved it. Still low blood pressure so taking it easy.

20w scan is still a week and a half away at 21+1!

Good luck tomorrow vivi

Love the name Ellie kate

Thanks calling. It's taken quite a while to decide. I'm playing The Last Of Us at the moment and the girl in it is called Ellie and she's awesome! :)

HenriettaTurkey · 07/08/2014 12:48

Lovely to see name ideas. We have the girls name sorted: first & middle. No ideas if it's a boy. DH says that DS is just so lovely he can't get his head around dc2 being a boy as he's worried he won't be able to bond as well with him, because he has such a close bond with DS. HmmHe doesn't think we can get that lucky if dc2 is a boy.

I'm a bit worried about that, but hoping that the scan, finding out the gender and then picking a name will help - and as soon as dc2 is born I know DH will be putty; just like with DS. I have always thought 2ds's would be easier - purely pragmatically - in terms of room sharing & passing on clothes - so I'm happy with either.

We shall see.

OMG! What a day!

This morning I was designated an office day for today & tomorrow as I'm on leave for 2 weeks after tomorrow so need time to sort stuff out.
We are only a small firm (6 solicitors, paralegal and receptionist) and like any firm we all bitch about each other when annoyed but it is soon forgotten and all friends again.
Bosses wife works here as a "solicitor" (not that she does much work) as well which isn't easy as I am sure you can imagine...!
Well today we got a call from bosses wife to say that we have a case in the Police station (she is at home btw) she says to keep her updated as she "is going for lunch with a friend" argh! - I call the nick and they are ready to deal so need someone there. Receptionist calls bosses wife back and leaves a voicemail and puts the phone down... so we think! The phone didn't disconnect properly and she heard the next few minutes of me going on about how I'm taken for granted, how she doesn't pull her weight etc etc! I left to go to the nick and get a call saying "I'll go and we'll speak later"... reality dawned on me... she heard!
Got back to the office and thought sod it, it needed to be said, and got on with work.

She came in and stormed in to the office, sat in my room and confronted me. I did really well, held my own and stuck to my guns and I think it took her back a bit. I did apologise for the way it came out but explained that for months I have tried to speak to her and boss about people not pulling their weight to fall on deaf ears. She accepted my points (phew) and said we will have a meeting with all staff when we are all back from leave over the summer to discuss how we can change working practices! Result! Grin
I then went to the toilet and cried! Fail! Angry Bloody hormones!
Might treat myself to a white wine spritzer this evening as I think I will need one by the end of today! In the meantime enjoy Cake

ilovelamp78 · 07/08/2014 15:05

Whoa cheshire that does sound like a day from hell. You enjoy every sip of your spritzer, that's an order!

ViviPru · 07/08/2014 15:24

Bloody hell Cheshire I'm impressed how you managed to turn that round! I'd have skipped the country before she came in... I'm a total baby.

cheshirem2b · 07/08/2014 15:55

On a happier note... 19 weeks today! Grin
