Welcome chatty I'm still worried about jinxing things and I'm 17 weeks and heard the heartbeat this week! I felt like my colleague guessing today would jinx my baby, I think I'll worry until it's here, then I'll worry about different stuff :s

Oooh pram talk! When we went to Bristol the other week we went to John Lewis to look at prams, but I looked at the wrong bloody one! I really, really want to see the new icandy raspberry but I must have had baby brain because I was looking at the strawberry thinking it was that right one. Why do they have to be named after stupid fruit? To make it worse, DH and I both really like the strawberry. Still going to wait until I can see the raspberry in person, mainly because you don't have to buy a carry cot for newborns as it can lie flat. I also may want to look at the new Bugaboo Bee.. Ugh. And I've just looked at the Joolz Day Saraswati mentioned!

My Mum also offered to buy the pram for us, but like someone else said, I think she may panic when she realises the prices! Especially with the currency exchange!

I told everyone at work by bringing in the scan photo and just standing there grinning like an idiot. My manager was off that week, so I told her when she came in. Everyone is really happy, but they might not be when I tell them I'm moving cities next month. I'm really lucky in that my area manager might have found me another job to transfer to so I don't have to lose my maternity pay. The other store is going to hate me though, I'll only be there for a few months before I go off (and I don't want to go back, shhh...)

I'm off now to pack for a weekend away. I'm too fat for my normal clothes but I don't have enough of a bump for maternity stuff Hmm

Minibagel · 18/07/2014 20:44

We have the oyster and love it blizy and keep

They do special edition colour packs in grey with black stars which looks gorgeous.

Keepontrudging · 18/07/2014 21:13

Good taste mini- (We seem to like similar stuff I see mini!)

I'll be sad to see ours go but it fared us well!

Dec2013mummy · 18/07/2014 21:19

Talking about bumps, how much of a bump (or not) does everyone have? I know there is no 'right' size but I am just interested to know if anyone is properly showing yet. I'm sure people just look at my slightly podgy stomach and think I haven't lost the weight yet from having Ds.
I'm still in my normal jeans and wake up with hardly any bump and then it grows through the day! This happened with Ds too.

ChineseFireball · 18/07/2014 21:31

One of my friends tested the Bugaboo Cam3 for Mumsnet and the review is here. She is EsmeWeatherwax. I really like the look of it but they are pricier than I'd like, especially since I'm not really planning on using the pram for a long time - love my Maclaren Techno XT when I'm happy for the baby to face away. We bought a quinny zapp xtra which should be fine. Will still be having massive pram envy of loads of you though! :)

Hope everyone is OK. I'm lurking a bit and reading through every so often but having difficulty concentrating and sitting still so apologies for missing stuff and not commenting. Think I'm going to have to inflate my gym ball soon. That will be AWESOME fun for DS. He will think all his christmases have come at once...!

Midwife appointment on Monday (16 week - but I was really late booking it!) - looking forward to hearing the heartbeat, hopefully!

Wishing everyone a fun weekend - hope the storms aren't too bad where you are.

17 weeks :D

KateTheHuman · 18/07/2014 21:38

Thanks miss and mad!! Their doppler is so much better than mine. It sounded wonderful! :)

Saraswati · 18/07/2014 21:48

dec I've got a bump, it looks a pregnant bump rather than tummy I think! My friend told me the other day I look exactly the same but with a bump, however this is my first and I haven't put on any weight yet due to sickness.

chinese when are we supposed to start bouncing on balls then?! I wanna get in on the fun, my dogs will go nuts!!

RPopz · 18/07/2014 22:30

I think when I'm naked my tummy def looks like a pregnant bump. But in most of my clothes I just look a bit porky! Also it's weirdly much bigger in the evenings, but deflates again by morning... Though it seems to be deflating less and less nowadays Smile

HenriettaTurkey · 18/07/2014 22:56

I show a bit even though I'm only 13 weeks: but it's my 2nd so my stomach muscles are shot.

Also I wear dresses which don't press on my bump (to ease sickness) which probably makes things more obvious!

Yippee the weekend!

I need to log on more, I always miss so much!
I have to buy everything for baby again as DD nearly 6 (and this baby was a bit of a surprise), so have been reading the pram comments with interest and will start researching.

As for bumps, people keep saying I'm "neat" but I think I'm huge, especially in the evening, and my goodness, the boobs!!! Shock

16+0!! Can't wait to get home and get in bed...

Minibagel · 19/07/2014 08:14

Update on my 4od marathon: I am now officially sick of obem. I have overwatched it I think.

My little bump is definitely visible without clothes but I just look fat with most clothes on. Mat clothes emphasise the bump but I don't own many pieces. I ordered a new pair of trousers and a mat top which should be delivered today. Hopefully that will tide me over a bit. I keep reminding myself that although I feel huge, it's nothing compared to what is to come...eek!

Defo getting a bump as put a top on the other day to wear to work and had to change it as it was way to obvious.
Woohoo for saturday (although have visited toilet this morning for the daily chuck up)
I'm on holidays now which is a relief as was getting really tired and grumpy with the kids (teacher here)
Next midwife appointment is on tuesday - yay! Do I get to listen to a heartbeat?
Have to go travel today and debating whether to go to meadowhall in sheffield to look at buggies (no idea what's there)
and for anyone else yorkshire way there is a mamas and papas outlet near Huddersfield but not been to have a look yet (they probably have a few about the place though)

My memory is terrible, but who is it having twins? How are you getting on?

rumisyum · 19/07/2014 08:40

Morning! Ooh, bump chat. Mine is still small, but unmistakable (in my eyes) when naked or in certain clothes, but in most clothes I just look like I've got really wide in the middle, especially when viewed from the side! And I've a short torso/an "athletic" (read: square) shape at the best of times, so any waistline definition was the first thing to go. Oh well. My arms and legs haven't changed too much, so I'm trying to highlight those for the moment till the bump is more of a feature.

I can't remember the name of the person who had twins at the moment, but I don't think we've seen her since she found out. Hope she's doing OK.

We're going to need yet another thread v soon!

I think if you ask your mw, explaining you know they might not find it, then they should do it for you at the 16w appointment. I think some are wary of causing unnecessary distress if its too early for you. By the time of the next appointment they will be able to hear it on the doppler, though I know a few mums who had to specifically ask for it at each appointment or it wouldn't be done.
